Chapter 33 Their Flirting Was No Concern of Rose’s
With chicken noodle soup in hand, Lillian leaned toward Judson, who was in his hospital bed, and handed the spoon to his mouth, coquetting, “Judson, take another sip, okay?”
After finishing her words, Lillian looked at Rose, who was lying opposite the bed of Judson’s, her eyebrows raised challengingly.
What a scene.
Rose had just woken up from the extreme pain when she saw how lovey-dovey they were.
“You’re up.” Judson looked deeply at Rose. He raised his hand to ward Lillian’s hand off, refusing Lillian to feed him.
Rose looked around.
It was a luxury suite in the hospital. Judson was sitting on the hospital
bed in the center.
And Rose was lying on the care bed opposite him.
Rose felt her hand cold and she lowered her head, only to find she was on a drip.
Isidro sat beside Rose instead. When he noticed what Rose was doing, he said in a hushed voice, “Ms. Edwards, you fainted outside. It was Mr. Roach who brought you to the hospital…”
He was giving Rose hints in his words to express her gratitude to Judson.
Yet, Rose ignored him.
Rose whispered in her heart, “Why did I faint?
If it weren’t for Judson’s freakout without reason…
I could have recovered and got back to normal rather than…”
Rose felt her forehead. She still had a mild fever.
She felt her throat was hurting so badly that she felt like she couldn’t even swallow.
“Ms. Edwards, the doctor said that you are suffering from the side effects of the medication since you had taken the wrong medication and had had physical strain. A break for some time may help you recover,” Isidro explained dutifully.
As he spoke, Isidro took a glance at Judson.
Judson’s brow furrowed. It seemed that every move of Rose would get
on his nerves.
Isidro hurriedly turned away his head in horror.
Isidro thought, “Actually, since Ms. Stewart came over, Mr. Roach didn’t seem too happy to see her.”
What Isidro dared not say in public was that before Lillian came, Judson had been holding Rose in his arms, unwilling to let go of her, even when the doctors examined Rose and gave her a drip.
“Lillian happened to be here,” Judson broke the silence, saying, “Let’s make it clear.”
His words immediately caught the attention of everyone in the ward.

“Lillian and I don’t have the relationship as you wrote.” That was the first sentence Judson said.
“So you must apologize to her in public. Rumors don’t matter to me, but Lillian is a public figure. That sort of rumor will have an impact on her career.”
Rose turned away, almost laughing.
Rose thought, “Judson should have taken a look at what he and Lillian were doing.”
Judson was leaning back on the hospital bed, his hands at his side, while Lillian was sitting beside him, leaning toward him, with her wrist next to Judson’s.
Rose whispered in her heart, “Did he have the nerve to say that they didn’t have the relationship I wrote?”
Noticing that Rose didn’t say a word, with her head to one side, Judson assumed she would apologize and continued, “As for your current job, I’ll ask Keenan to get your company notified that you quit the job since you’re still on trial.”
Rose looked up instantly and looked at Judson, with shock and anger in her eyes.
Capturing the look in her eyes, Judson stared at her crossly, “Look what you have done. Do you think you are a good employee?”
“Is that so?” Rose smiled instead, “What do you think I did?”
Judson knew that Rose was trying to provoke him. She had always been like this, pretending to be innocent and naive while starting a quarrel with him by setting him up.
Judson thought that he wouldn’t have paid any mind at all to anyone
else acting like this.
Yet, Rose wanted to enrage him, which was something he couldn’t
bear.
“Your first story was full of bulls hit rumors, and now you’re interviewing others, which almost took your life away.”
The doctor told him the results of Rose’s blood work.
Judson almost couldn’t control his urge to kill Hector.
Judson wondered whether Rose would get herself a man on the street if he hadn’t got there…
“The Roach family has brought you up. Even if you don’t care about yourself, you should care about the feelings of the elderly in the Roach family a bit.”
Everyone in the Roach family adored her more than adoring Judson.
Yet, she neither valued herself nor valued the love and care of others.
Silence filled the whole ward for a while.
“Mr. Roach,” Rose said after a long while, looking up, “I do appreciate the Roach family for your bringing me up and adoring me for so many years, but I think what my parents had done for your family should have canceled all the things out.”
That was the first time Rose had taken the initiative to mention what her parents had done for the Roach family.
Rose was so cautious before that she didn’t dare to talk about that lest others would sneer at her that she was trading her parents’ kindness for marrying into the Roach family.
It turned out that she mentioned that in order to get rid of the Roach family.
“What the Roach family had offered me has offset what my parents had done…” she said in a soft and gentle tone, but Judson considered her words to be daggers to his heart.
“So, I will support myself from now on since I’ve grown up. No matter how difficult the path is, I should go through it on my own.”
Rose pulled out the injector in her hand.
Beads of blood dribbled into the white coverlet.
“Mr. Roach, if you think I’m cooking up the story, then you can sue me as you want. I’m a reporter, so I will take responsibility for all I have done. As for other issues, they are none of your concern.”
Rose was stopped when she was about to walk out of the ward.
No one dared to let her go without Judson’s permission.
“Judson, please don’t be angry. Rose has been taken good care of by the Roach family, so it’s quite normal if she wanted to see a bit of real life on her own.”
Lillian said in a soft tone, “Rose, the doctor said Judson couldn’t get mad. Could you please be more understanding and not cross him?”
Rose didn’t answer Lillian, staring at her.
Rose said in her heart, “What a hypocritical woman.
She was the mastermind of the whole thing happening today, and now she was acting as if she had nothing to do with the issue, just like a kind-hearted peacemaker.
In the past, I would have held back my tears, telling Judson everything Lillian had done, hoping he could know the truth of my innocence.
Now I have come to realize that my wish will never be accomplished.
I will one day unmask Lillian’s hypocrisy on my own rather than asking for Judson’s help.
There’s an old saying, ‘Deity helps those who help themselves, so there’s no use relying on others…”
Rose went back and asked Isidro, “Where’s my handbag?”
Isidro hurried to fetch her the handbag.
Røse took it over, opened it, and checked it. She sighed a breath of relief for nothing went missing.
Judson didn’t let her go, so she sat back down on the care bed.
Rose sorted her items out one by one under his sullen gaze.
Lillian was full of energy to display her love for Judson.
“Judson, time for your meds…”
“Would you like to have some fruit? I’ll get you some. The doctor said you could have some.”
“Look, Judson. These are the plays I’ve received recently. Which one do you think fits me well?”
Occasionally, Judson would answer her. At that time, Lillian would giggle and say shyly, “OK. I believe whatever you choose is the best…”
Rose turned a deaf ear to their conversations. She found herself stronger than she had imagined.

She opened her phone and asked Isidro, “Do you have a charging cable for a cell phone?”
Isidro cast a nervous look at Judson.
He knew Judson had one, but he dared not fetch it to Rose without Judson’s permission.
Rose followed Isidro’s gaze and she knew that instantly.
She lowered her head and got down to doing something else, no longer asking for the cable.
“Come get it yourself,” Judson said stiffly.
Rose turned a deaf ear.
Judson’s face sank obviously.
At the sight of the scene, Lillian rose to her feet considerately, saying, “I’ll get it to Rose.”
“You say get what to Rose?”
Tameka’s crisp voice came from the doorway, “Oops.”
She teased with a smile, “I haven’t come over in just a day. When were there 2 patients staying in one luxury suite?”
Following her was Darrin…..
