Chapter 28 She Always Waited Like a Stu pid
“Nothing.” Rose smiled at Tommie. “Leave everything to the legal assistant. Trust the company.”
In the silent office, even needles could be heard. Those who stayed either looked down at their phones or focused on sorting out the manuscripts.
After Rose left, they finally began whispering.
“She says the sweetest things.”
If I were seeing Darrin, I would have the courage to file a lawsuit with the Roawards Group. I can interview whoever I want and get all the information I want.”
“Shush. Don’t talk nonsense. There might be people eavesdropping.”
“Did I mention a name? I don’t know what to do if someone thought
SO.”
Tommie heard so and hurriedly interrupted them. “Isn’t it a bit improper to say so?”
“Why not? Can we have some comments on what happened?”
“She is lucky that Darrin can back her up when she finds faults with Judson. You don’t have that ability. Stop trying, lest you end up dead.”
“What ability?” A female colleague sneered. “The ability on the bed?”
Malicious laughter rang out in the office.
People working in the Entertainment Department nearly left.
“Well…” The female colleague who raised the topic slammed the documents on the table. “I worked overtime for three days because of Hector. I did a lot of work in advance. Finally, I was cut off by someone who pulled the strings. I’m so angry.”
Her words successfully aroused everyone’s anger.
“Same with me. I even contacted his old school. Who knew what happened later.”
“I’d say nothing if any of you got the chance. But I can’t stand it’s her who got the chance. She is a rookie, and yet she got everything with her beauty…”
“There, there. Beauty can’t last forever. I don’t believe Darrin would help her fight against the Roawards Group. He’d get tired of her sooner or later.”
“Well, will she try to seduce Judson to achieve her goal?”
“Judson? He has Lillian. He won’t even look at her.”
“That may not be true. A man’s desire is never satisfied enough. Sleeping with him is much easier than working to get things settled.”
“Then she can sleep with him. Let’s hope she doesn’t blame us for exposing her…”
***
Rose walked on the street fast.
She got off work early today because of an appointment with an agent to see the apartment.
Darrin-represented her to check out of the rented apartment last night. He also gave her the key to his own apartment.
Rose couldn’t accept his favor. But she couldn’t afford to have no place to live, so she could only find a new one urgently.
For a hard-working reporter, the apartment was just a place to sleep. She would probably work overtime at the company or be on a business trip.
Rose didn’t understand Darrin’s pickiness and persistence.
Darrin still didn’t trust her enough. He was afraid that she would hesitate to leave Judson because of the lack of supplies and the poor environment…
Darrin ought to understand that Rose was not a flower in a greenhouse. She wouldn’t be so delicate or wither when she was transplanted outside.
“Ms. Edwards.” Isidro unexpectedly blocked her way.
“Mr. Bowen?”
“Ms. Edwards, stop making s fuss,” Isidro said earnestly, “Mr. Roach was just hospitalized yesterday. He got out of the hospital today because of you. What else do you want to go back?”
Rose couldn’t understand Isidro.
Judson broke up with her. Now he blamed her for not coming back.
Rose knew that everything she did was wrong, but she didn’t know that she would be so wrong.
“Ms. Edwards, even if you don’t love Mr. Roach, you have to be grateful for the favor from the Roach family, right?”
Everyone knew how nicely the Roach family treated Rose.
How could Rose do this to Judson?
“The favor from the Roach family?” Rose found it funny. Why did everybody, including Judson, Isidro, and Aileen, think she owed a lot to the Roach family?
The Roach family was good to her during these years.
But the favor was exchanged with two Edwards family members.
Rose would rather not have the favor from the Roach family to have her parents live in good health.
“Mr. Bowen, you’re standing in my way. Excuse me.”
Rose didn’t want to say any unnecessary words. She didn’t even want to waste the time explaining to Judson, let alone Isidro.
She got completely tired.
“Ms. Edwards!” If he hadn’t known that Judson would mind, Isidro would have grabbed Rose’s arm. “Mr. Roach is in the car over there… Don’t look back! He won’t let me tell you. Don’t look back…”
The matter of suing Flourish Media was handed over to Keenan.
Isidro didn’t know what Keenan was thinking. After he came back and reported to Judson, Judson ignored the doctor’s orders and left the hospital. He waited downstairs in Flourish Media.
He told the driver to stalk Rose.
Isidro couldn’t bear to see Judson suffer. He offered to stop Rose, and Judson nodded.
“Mr. Bowen, I really have something else to do.” Rose checked the
time.
Rose didn’t know what Judson was up to, and she didn’t want to.
“Ms. Edwards, go and apologize to Mr. Roach. You don’t need that money. Why do you have to go to Flourish Media to upset Mr. Roach? Mr. Roach really can’t stand the torment.”
Isidro wouldn’t leave no matter what.
Rose looked at his sullen face and pondered for a while. “You don’t even allow me to look back. How do you expect me to go back?”
When Isidro was taken aback, Rose turned around.
With just one glance, she saw the black Maybach parked across the
street.
The rear window was closed tightly, but Rose knew that Judson was watching her.
Rose found it incredible…
She had been living in Imperial Garden for the past seven years, but she couldn’t see Judson every day.
He was always busy with meetings, negotiations, business trips, or … with dates with Lillian.
She couldn’t see Judson all day long.
If Rose wanted to see him, besides waiting in Imperial Garden, she could only go to the Roawards Group to ask to see him.
Everyone in the general manager’s office of the Roawards Group knew her identity. They always greeted her with a smile. Even Keenan was polite to her.
Rose now felt they were like Aileen, looking polite on the surface and
despising her in heart.
Judson never had a nice face towards her.
Every time she went, he left her in the office and ignored her.
She was waiting like a stu pid in Imperial Garden and at the Roawards. Group.
Even when Judson returned to the office, he still refused to look at her properly, treating her like nobody.
Rose sat in front of him with the most pious heart. Her eyes followed him all the time.
Occasionally, Judson glanced at her. It was enough to cheer her up for a long time.
Now they broke up.
But Judson came to see her several times.
