Chapter 95 Time Delay
“How much do you want, boss?” One of the men holding the phone asked with an excited look. Clearly, he was ready to suck Kingsley dry of his fortune.
“Not too much. At least one hundred thousand for each of us. It’ll just delay our time if we ask for too much, which wouldn’t be good for us. *The leader of the gang was smoking a cigarette. His face was relaxed without the slightest hint of nervousness.
A few of the men immediately danced with pleasure when they heard that. They wrote a set of conditions and sent it to Kingsley, which seemed like a threat. To put everything short, they told Kingsley that they would not do anything to Gwyneth if he did not transfer the
money.
[Haven’t we discussed the payment before? Since when you guys brought up the floor price?]
The leader of the group coldly snorted when he saw Kingsley’s reply. He snatched the phone away from his men and wrote: [Mr. Leed, you did not tell me the woman’s identity before. Kingsley gritted his teeth after being forced to do so. He listened to the sound of the police siren around him and knew he had no choice. He feared the men would abandon their promise to do the job and report him to the police. It was not worth it.
Half a million dollars was not considered a lot, nor was it a small amount of money to Kingsley. Everyone knew about the power of the Leed family, but Kingsley was their illegitimate son. “Are these men going to do what they were told to now that they’ve gotten their pay?‘ Gwyneth’s eyes were closed as her heart beat violently. She tried to control her expression, so nobody knew she was awake. However, she did not expect Wanda, tied to another pole behind her, to open her eyes at that moment.
“Let go of me! Let me go!”
Hearing Wanda’s plea, Gwyneth’s heart skipped a bit as she cursed to herself.
The sound of the men’s chatters immediately stopped the next second, and the sound of footsteps approaching was heard. Gwyneth clenched her hands into tight fists. She wanted to ensure that Wanda was safe since she was dragged into this mess because of her. Gwyneth then took a deep breath and slowly opened her eyes as if she had just awakened from a coma.
“Hey, everyone’s awake? Did the two of you sleep well, ladies?” The pack leader got up from the sofa and asked as he saw Gwyneth and Wanda open their eyes one after the other. He spat out the cigarette in his mouth and slowly walked over to the two women.
“You two don’t have to be afraid. Things will be resolved very quickly. You won’t even feel a thing.”
“W–What do you mean…”
Wanda, who had just graduated from college, had never witnessed or been in something like this. Naturally, she stuttered. It was brave of
her not to cry out loud.
“Hehe. You’re going to know real soon, little girl” said the leader cheerfully. He then nodded to one of his men, and the person understood
what he meant.
The man quickly approached Wanda and reached out to grab her chin. “I’m warning you two. Don’t mess around, or you’re gonna regret it.”
Judging by Wanda’s voice, she was about to cry, but she stuck her neck out and desperately screamed at the kidnappers. She knew that they would not listen to reason, but she was not afraid at that moment.
She glanced at Gwyneth and thought it was most likely because her presence gave her a sense of security. Wanda was positive that Gwyneth had a plan. All she had to do was to follow her lead and stall as much as possible.

Gwyneth could not see Wanda’s expression then, but she could imagine it. She could not help but want to compliment her. It was great. that her sharpness was still intact.
Just as Wanda expected, her words did not deter the kidnappers. Two men walked up to Gwyneth and Wanda, respectively, looked at each other, and took out two guns from their pockets. This was completely beyond the women’s expectations. Both of them thought that they were just part of a ransom kidnapping. They did not know that they were going to lose their lives. Wanda moved around violently as she looked at the black gun muzzle before her face while Gwyneth remained motionless.
