Chapter 82
Celeste had to bring Kendric home. As soon as they came into the room, het
leaned against her. He closed his eyes and let out a deep breath, “we’re finally
home.”
Celeste led him to the living room, then she went searching for Cade’s phone number.
Kendric and snatched the phone from her grip. He grinned, “is the phone more appealing than me?”
“Give my phone back.”
Kendric took her phone and smoothly guessed her password. “Let’s see what’s so captivating on this phone.”
Honestly, Celeste had never seen Kendric act so… silly.
Celeste resorted to sweet–talk, “there’s nothing more attractive than you. Give it back to me.”
Kendric powered down the phone, and before Celeste could react, he stepped on a chair and placed her phone on chandelier.
Celeste was totally dumbfounded.
“What the hell are you doing?!”
“You said I’m the most attractive, so we don’t need the phone now.”
“Alright, I gave in. Can you go to bed now?”
Kendric’s gaze wandered toward the master bedroom. “Sure.”
“Come with me,” she headed to the guest room.

“Go ahead and sleep. When you wake up tomorrow, you should leave,
alright?” Celeste said as she made the bed.
But when she turned around, she found no one behind her.
She walked out and found him in the master bedroom. He was sitting on
the bed, gazing at her intently.
“Sleep here,” he said.
Arguing with a drunken head would be stupid. “Alright,” she agreed.
He began unbuttoning his shirt.
“Wait, wait, what are you doing?” Celeste hurriedly stopped him.
He blinked innocently, “undress for sleep.”
Celeste quickly grabbed his loosened tie, “just keep your clothes on for the night.”
Though he didn’t seem pleased, he followed her words. When Celeste was about to leave, he sat up, “it’s time to sleep.”
Celeste had no idea what was going on in his mind. His thoughts now were beyond what a normal person could
grasp.
He pulled back patted the bed. p covers an
Celeste grabbed a nearby cushion. “It’ll accompany you into sleep. I have something else to do.”
Kendric furrowed his brow, deep in thought.
Finally, with Kendric sleeping soundly, Celeste collapsed in the guest room. She was genuinely surprised by his behavior that night. He was still stubborn,

but he was more reasonable, and less irritating.
Early the next morning, as Kendric woke up, he found himself in a strange
room.
Upon opening the door, Kendric caught Celeste standing on tiptoe on a
chair, reaching for her phone. He’s abrupt appearance nearly caused her to
tumble from the chair.
“What are you doing?” he inquired.
Today’s Kendric returned to his customary aloof demeanor. Celeste felt a
tinge of disappointment.
“I’m getting my phone. It’s on the chandelier,” Celeste replied.
Kendrie–rolled up his shirt sleeves, and signaled for Celeste to descend from
the chair. “How did your phone end up on the chandelier?”
Celeste rolled her eyes. “Someone put it there, of course.”
Stepping onto the chair, Kendric effortlessly retrieved her phone. He flicked away the dust off his sleeve.
“You don’t have any memories of last night?” Celeste inquired.
“What happened last night?”
Celeste mused, “well, perhaps that’s best for both of us. But I still want to
tell you, Kendric, you look cuter when you’re drunk.”
Kendric’s eyes stained with heavy bewilderment.
Celeste shook her head, “forget it.”

The apartment Celeste rented wasn’t very spacious, with the living room
and dining area interconnected. As she came out of the kitchen, she found
Kendric seated on the living room sofa.
Weariness lingered on his face.
“Time for the breakfast.”
Kendric got up, smoothed out his wrinkled shirt, and took his seat at the
table.
“…you just sit down like that?” she crossed her arms.
Clearly, Kendric hadn’t quite caught her drift.
“Huh?” He seemed to wonder what could possibly be wrong with sitting
like this.
Celeste pursed her lips and muttered under her breath, “no wonder I prefer
the drunken Kendric more.”
“Breakfast’s in the kitchen. Go fetch it yourself.”
Kendric frowned slightly.
A few seconds later, “where are the plates?” his voice came from inside the kitchen.
“In the cupboard.”
The sound of the cupboard being yanked open reached Celeste’s ears, but next there was a loud crash, like porcelain falling and shattering on the ground.
Swiftly, Celeste rushed into the kitchen, only to see scattered shards of the

broken plate on the floor.
“I’ll send you a new set.
Celeste took a deep breath. This set of tableware were not at high price, but
the patterns on them were meticulously hand–drawn by her.
“That’s all?”
Kendric had a puzzled look on his face.
Celeste crouched down to sweep up the shattered pieces on the floor. “Kendric, you never learned to apologize for your mistakes.”
He needs to apologize for breaking a plate? Kendric’s eyes darkened, and he remained tight–lipped.
In the past, Celeste would never have expected an apology from Kendric. However, for some reason, she found his current attitude irksome. All she wanted was to give him a piece of her mind.
“Apologize to me!”
Kendric was perplexed about the source of her indignation.
All the time, he never needed to apologize. No one could demand such a thing from him.
He stood there in silence, quietly watching her collect the broken shards.
Celeste finished cleaning up the mess “I’m heading to the studio. Leave my house after you finish your breakfast.”
She put on her shoes, snatched her bag, and left without a second glance at him.

Kendric stared at the empty doorway, his eyes initially ablaze with
unbridled fury. Yet, as her figure disappeared, his anger gradually subsided.
His fists gradually unclenched, and he cast a glance at the fragments in the
trash can.
