Celeste accepted the task and jotted down the address.

Celeste agreed.
After finishing her work, Celeste headed out for dinner and then returned home to change her clothes and apply the makeup.
The auction tonight was held at Relly Hotel, which owned by Winters family.
She didn’t know much about Winters family, but she had a vague
recollection of Kendric having a rival with the last name Winters. She wondered if there was any connection to Winters family hosting the event tonight.

When Ezra Winters called, Kendric was taking a break.
Lately, there had been some complications with an overseas project, so he
had to fly abroad to solve the issues.
A few minutes before receiving Ezra’s call, Kendric had been swamped for
days on end. He had barely shut his eyes for a quick rest when he was rudely woken up. His mood was far from pleasant.
“What’s up?” he grumbled.
“Are you at home?” Ezra inquired with a sly tone.
Kendric’s patience was running out, “no, just get to the point.”
Ezra let out a mischievous grin, “well, I do have something. But it’ll cost you five million before I spill the beans.”
“Say it or I’ll hang up.”
Ezra drawled lazily, “I heard that Celeste…”
The call went quiet as Kendric waited. Ezra was clearly enjoying making him wait.
Finally, Kendric grumbled, “fine, I’ll transfer you five million.”
Ezra chuckled, “Okay, tonight, Celeste will be at Relly Hotel. Would you like to come?”
Kendric didn’t hesitate for a second, “sure. Why’s she going there?”

“Alright, alright. Tonight, I’m throwing an auction at Relly Hotel. Celeste’s lient has asked them to help bid on a painting, so she’ll be there tonight.”
Kendric quickly caught on, “you plotted this?”
Ezra laughed, “that’s why I said five million wouldn’t be enough!”
“And the time of the auction?”
“8 o’clock tonight.”
Kendric glanced at his phone and grumbled, “and you’re telling me this
now?”
“Bro, you think chasing your wife will be an easy thing?”
Celeste arrived at Relly Hotel a little after seven. She had heard there was
an exhibition before the auction, so she came quite early.
The exhibition hall wasn’t crowded. Celeste found the painting she intended
to purchase and examined it closely to make sure its authenticity.
Just as she was about to leave, a man appeared beside her.
He had a physique similar to Kendric’s. He wore a blue checkered suit and was staring at the same painting.
“You like this painting?”
He seemed to perceive Celeste’s cautiousness and explained, Tm Ezra Winters, organizer of tonight’s exhibition and auction. I’m just curious why you
interested in this painting. Are you a painter, Miss?”
Celeste smiled, “I majored in painting.”
“Oh, then where are you currently working?”
“At a small art studio, but I’m about to study abroad.”
Ezra squinted his eyes, a mischievous smile playing on his lips. He couldn’t
help but imagine the expression on Kendric’s face when he found out Celeste
was going abroad!
With some time left before the auction started, Celeste entered the banquet
hall and found a quiet corner to sit.
The banquet was in full swing, but the adjacent exhibition hall was with
few people.
The attendees mingled with each other, holding their wine glasses.
Celeste lazily reclined on the sofa, her long hair cascading down and gently
curling at the ends. She held a glass of richly colored cocktail in one hand while
the other lightly propped up her chin. Her gaze wandered aimlessly.
After a while, everyone around her began edging closer to the center.
Celeste stretched out her neck, but all she could see was their heads.
She averted her gaze. Although her seat was somewhat secluded, it was
near the elevator.
She was engrossed in her phone, when suddenly she felt the burning gazes fixated on her. She raised her head and spotted Kendric approaching this way.
Celeste’s pupils constricted, and she froze as they got closer.
To the onlookers, the recent engagement dispute between the two hadn’t

quite blown over. They were ready to see what was gonna happen next.
Ezra stood alongside Kendric, and he cheekily winked at Celeste.
Celeste turned her face slightly. She hoped Kendric wouldn’t notice her.
Their footsteps didn’t halt. Celeste breathed a sigh of relief, thinking
Kendric was about to pass her by. But just as she thought that, the sound of his
shoes scuffing against the floor abruptly stopped.
Ezra raised an eyebrow, pretending to be surprised, “Celeste, what brings you here?”
Celeste couldn’t help but curse Ezra for his shamelessness.
Kendric stood about three to four meters away from her, closely observe her every move, expression, and even the tone of her speech.
Celeste stood up, “to attend the auction.”
She directed her gaze towards Kendric. Despite their breakup, she didn’t want to become the subject of public gossip. She offered a polite nod and greeted him, “good evening, Mr. Melville.”
Kendric remained cold, walking away without even a glance at her.
Ezra followed him with a frown.
Celeste breathed a sigh of relief. She had feared Kendric might create a scene in public. It’s best that he treated her as a stranger
