Redeemed From Caged Love By Karrin Chapter 51

hapter 51

Myles was utterly provoked by Kendric’s haughty attitude, and each of his

punches carried his rage.

Kendric, on the other hand, refrained from striking back, and due to his

prior instructions, Cade could only stand beside, giving off a fierce look.

Worried that things might get out of hand, Celeste pulled her father away, “Dad, that’s enough.”

Myles had thrown a dozen punches, and at first Kendric could manage to stay on his feet. But eventually, he had to lean against the wall to keep his

balance.

Celeste stole a glance at Kendric and noticed the blood stain at the corner of his mouth and a bruise on his cheek.

She shifted her gaze and pulled her father away.

The rage, combined with the physical exertion, caused Myles‘ blood

pressure to spike, and he could barely remain on his feet.

Next moment, he suddenly collapsed to the ground.

Luckily, the resort boasted top–notch amenities, including a first–rate medical team.

After ensuring that her father was out of danger, Celeste sat alone in the living room. She may have been wrong from the start in keeping the whole truth hidden from her father.

Over the years, she had grown used to only sharing good news with her

father and concealing her adversity. When she broke up with Kendric, her

initial plan was to handle everything herself and inform her father slowly when

the time was right.

But she had underestimated Kendric’s stubbornness.

When Kendric walked in, Celeste was sitting on the sofa, lost in thought.

She was huddled in a corner, hugging her knees.

Startled by his entrance, she looked at him with a wary gaze, like some kind of small animal whose territory had been invaded by an intruder.

She stared at him cautiously, “why are you here?”

She was simply cold and indifferent. She was unwilling to show even hatred for him.

Kendric still wore the same blue shirt, now tainted with bloodstains around the wrinkled collar, giving him a rather disheveled appearance.

As he approached, Celeste finally got a good look at his face. His face was now somewhat swollen, adorned with purplish bruises. Dried blood near his lips and the wound between his eyebrows covered by a scab stated the fierce of the fight.

Celeste kept gazing at him as he walked in, watching him wordlessly take a seat across from her.

To claim that Kendric wasn’t seething with anger would be far from the truth. He’d never taken such a beating in his life, not once.

Over the years, only his grandfather had managed to hold any sway over him, until today when Myles became the first person audacious enough to land

a punch on his face.

“Help me apply the medical kit her way

upon sitting down.

medicine!” Kendric tossed a smal

Celeste jutted her chin out with displeasure. “I’m not your nurse.”

With all his assistants and even a whole medical team, he surely could find

someone else to tend to his wounds.

Kendric waited for a moment, but Celeste still remained unmoved. He

rudely opened the kit. “Do I have to remind you who caused these wounds?”

Fine, after all it was her father who had thrown the first punch. Celeste.

took the alcohol and gauze he had thrown her way and walked over. Holding a

disinfected cotton ball, she inspected the wound above his eyebrow. “Close your

eyes.”

As she got closer, he kept his eyes open, staring right at her, “don’t you have

any words for me?”

Celeste chuckled, “what should I say? Should I tell you that you got what you deserved?”

Kendric felt disheartened and quickly abandoned any expectations, He tightly pressed his lips together and shut his eyes.

“You don’t expect me to feel sorry for seeing you get hurt, do you? Seriously? After all what you’ve done to me?”

Kendric chose to stay silent, but his silence clearly confirmed her words.

Celeste took an alcohol pad and pressed it against his wound. “Even after my dad beat you up like this, you didn’t fight back. Don’t think I’m unaware of

the intention you’re holding in your mind.”

He snapped open his eyes. A sardonic smile crossed his face. “What

intention I’m holding?”

He abruptly seized her hand, his gaze piercing. “Were you expecting me to

fight back? So you could use it as an excuse to reject marrying me, claiming that

I’m a man who’d harm my future father–in–law.”

Celeste’s fist clenched tightly. “And what about you? Tell me you’re not

planning to use my dad’s impulsive actions to threaten me to marry you.”

Kendric closed his eyes again. “I’m not nuts. I had never planned to use it to threaten you.”

Celeste breathed a sigh of relief and continued tending to his wound. Her movement was gentler this time.

The scab softened rapidly as it soaked up the alcohol. The alcohol gradually seeped into the wound, and he gritted his teeth to endure the stinging sensation.

“You should call a doctor. I’m not skillful.”

She’s dead wanna flee away from his burning gaze. That kind of look like she was the only one in his world, she couldn’t bear it.

Celeste turned away to avoid his eyes.

“I’ll go get a nurse,” she took off the disposable gloves and left.

Kendric gazed after her. He sat alone on the couch, the sunlight streaming in from outside enveloping his surroundings. Strangely, it avoided the space where he sat. He appeared like a lonely stone sculpture. Even though sunlight

bathed the surroundings, it couldn’t touch him.

Soon a nurse entered the room, while Celeste didn’t follow.

The hotel had a terrace extending from each floor, along with a coffee shop.

Celeste strolled over, ordering a cup of vanilla latte.

Unexpectedly, she bumped into Mary who was on the phone. Celeste had not

intention of eavesdropping, but she somehow heard her own name in the

conversation.

“Mr. Melville got hurt.”

“Yes, the injuries are somewhat severe.”

“It’s Myles Alinsky.”

“Mr. Melville banned us from getting the police involved.”

“Okay, ma’am.

Celeste realized that Mary was talking to Kendric’s mother Madelyn.

“Yep, I’ll keep a close eye on them.”

“Sure, I’ll keep you informed of any updates.”

Celeste took a sip of her coffee and paid the bill.

She changed her mind. If she didn’t strike back at these hypocritical snobs who had harmed her, she wouldn’t be content even if she left. After a phone call with Sienna, she returned to find Kendric.
