She was somewhat afraid that the project would really be halted and asked

she convened a department meeting in the afternoon. 

There had been rumors that this game project might be cut, but since this

But the current situation was such that the game project was not profitable 

and was not thought to succeed by the majority. 

Having recently joined the company as the Art Director, Celeste faced

The expressions of everyone grew more serious. 

“You sure about the news? Then who will be on the layoffs list?” 

Celeste closed the file in her hand, “before next Monday, send me your 

usual sketches and resumes to my email. Meeting’s over.” 

The department was currently lack of cohesion. They were unable to handle 

even the most basic tasks.

The emporium was a bit far away from her apartment. She got on the

she held a plastic box with a small tortoise inside. 

Kendric didn’t choose a suit today. Instead, he had on a khaki–colored 

windbreaker. 

Celeste’s eyes lit up. He rarely wore light–colored clothes. 

All along his closet was filled with black suits of the same style. 

In the past, Kendric had never put much effort into his attire. With his perfect proportions, he looked good in anything. Beside, he favored darker–colored clothing, which, in his eyes, would made him look more steady. 

He walked towards her. For a split second, Celeste felt the man stood in

front of her was the eighteen–year–old Kendric. 

“Why are you dressed like this?” 

Kendric lowered her head to have a look at his coat, “what’s wrong? It 

doesn’t look good on me?” 

“No, you look good. But that’s a rare choice for you, isn’t it?” 

She squinted with her slightly nearsighted eyes, scrutinizing him from top 

to bottom. “You look much younger on it.” 

Kendric smirked, and his eyes shone with vitality. “I’m not that old.” 

Celeste regretted using the world “old” on him that day. In fact, compared to 

the past, he now exuded more charm at this age. 

“You’re not old.” 

Kendric smiled. 

On the way back, she rode in Kendric’s car. 

Cade drove her car back to her apartment, And he would arrange someone to decorate her balcony. 

Celeste sat in the passenger seat, feeding the tortoise. 

“What breed is your turtle?” 

Celeste corrected him, “he has name. I call him Tor.”
