“I haven’t even seen her before.” Calvin had a headache. “The engagement will be canceled sooner or later. It’s just a show that the patriarchs of the two families deliberately made for the Kingsley family to watch. No matter what she said, don’t take it seriously.”
Calvin was worried that Sabrina would avoid him because of that. After all, she was a very vigilant and rational woman. She would analyze the advantages and disadvantages of a situation clear-headedly, such as rejecting his invitation that night. “Well, before leaving the venue, she told me that she would be going back home by next month.” Sabrina was silent for a while and said, “She’s young and pretty, having just reached adulthood. If you’re willing to settle down, marriage won’t hurt.” Calvin opened Sabrina’s shoe cabinet. He wanted to get disposable slippers, but there was a pair of men’s slippers in it. Calvin’s fingers stiffened, and a trace of gloom flashed across his gaze.
“Does Sabrina have someone, or has she asked someone to come to her home?” he wondered.
“Don’t worry about me. What about you? You’re about to turn 30. Do you really plan to marry me?” The moment Calvin raised his head, the emotion in his eyes was hidden and replaced by a teasing smile.
“Cut the nonsense. I’m used to being alone. Finding a man to date and marry will affect my ability to cut things off quickly.” Sabrina mimed drawing a knife and slicing her throat.
She had been abstaining from sex because of how harmful it could be.
“Brynna, looks like something’s going on, huh?” Rayne smiled meaningfully while standing at the door of the bathroom. “There are two toothbrushes and a men’s razor at home.”
Sabrina rolled her eyes at Rayne and thought the latter was joking.
“Tell me who that man is! Was it Zayden? The one I introduced to you?” Rayne was extremely excited.
Calvin glanced at the bathroom, looking rather unhappy.
There were men’s slippers in the shoe cabinet at the door, as well as a razor and a toothbrush in the bathroom.
Obviously, Sabrina had brought someone home.
“James, please let me go this time!”
Sabrina was pushed to the bathroom door, and her heart sank. There was indeed a razor and a toothbrush.
After Grand Dynasty ended, she flew directly to Fruycia without going back to Hofcaster. The toothbrush and razor were obviously left by Harvey last time.
Rubbing between her brows, Sabrina knew she was in a predicament.
“How could that fool leave these things in the house?” she thought.
“Well…” Calm as Sabrina had always been, she panicked.
“Why are you so gossipy when we only came to have supper?” Calvin broke the awkwardness and opened a bottle of red wine. “Brynna, congratulations on winning the Contemporary Visual Arts award!.”
Sabrina breathed a sigh of relief and sat down. “Thank you.”
Calvin glanced at Sabrina quietly. “She panicked and was very nervous,” he mused.
At first, he thought Sabrina was aloof and wouldn’t marry before she was 30. He just had to stick it out until she was 30, then he would get to marry her.
Unfortunately, he had been too confident.
Calvin narrowed his eyes and became more and more annoyed.
“Who is that man? How dare he try to steal my girl!” Calvin pondered.
In order to help Sabrina heal from her past, he had done a lot of work on Sabrina throughout the years. “It seems someone wants to steal the fruits of my labor… This won’t do,” he figured.
“By the way, is your schedule really packed these days? You didn’t take any projects from Clusia Entertainment,” Calvin casually inquired.
“Hmm? Not really. Lily just sent me the list. There are no projects from Clusia Entertainment.” Sabrina was a little confused.
“It seems that your manager has cut us off.” Calvin raised his eyebrows.
“What? How did you offend Lily?” Lily Lawson was Sabrina’s manager and partner. Sabrina knew Lily well, and she knew the latter was nowhere near arrogant and had no reason to turn down projects from Clusia Entertainment.

“Brynna, you went to Fruycia after Grand Dynasty, so maybe you don’t know much about the gossip in the country…” Rayne glanced at Calvin carefully. “It was on the trending list that day. You stopped the news from spreading, didn’t you,
Calvin?”
Sabrina’s eyelids twitched. “What?”
“Someone posted a photo and a short video of two people kissing passionately in the underground parking at Clusia Entertainment. They made some groundless accusations and claimed it was you and Calvin in the video and photo, but that’s obviously not the case.”
Sabrina turned and looked at Calvin suspiciously, thinking it was about him and one of the girls he was messing around with.
“Don’t look at me. It wasn’t me.” Calvin looked innocent.
“Was someone trying to blackmail me or Clusia Entertainment?” Sabrina wondered aloud. Obviously, Lily turned down projects by Clusia Entertainment to avoid suspicion.
“It must be someone internal from Clusia Entertainment, given that the photos were taken in the parking lots reserved for staff members. I’m still investigating the matter,” Calvin reassured Sabrina.
Sabrina didn’t say anything. She more or less could guess who sent the video.
That day, when they returned to the hotel from the cruise ship, Zayden mentioned the incident, saying that there were rumors among the newcomers. Soon, the incident was exposed and became a trending topic.
“Looks like some bi tch just wants to create some drama,” she mused.
“Calvin, you know how important the application for the solo visual arts exhibition is for me. I don’t want any problems related to Clusia Entertainment.” Sabrina reminded Calvin that she couldn’t afford to have a negative public image at that time.
Calvin was stunned for a moment and nodded. “Leave it to me.”
After Calvin and Rayne left, Sabrina got up and walked into the bathroom.
Upon laying eyes on the toothbrush and razor in there, Sabrina threw them into the trash can without hesitation.
After rubbing her brows, Sabrina called her assistant. “Elena, we’re in a critical period. I don’t want any more negative news about me being spread around in Hofcaster. Please help me find out who uploaded the video that got on the trending list. Also, send me a copy of the video.”
The application for the art exhibition was nearing. If something went wrong at that time, all her previous efforts would be in vain.
The art exhibition was very important to her.
Downstairs, Rayne had driven away from Sabrina’s house, but Calvin didn’t leave even after a long time.
He leaned against the door of his car and lit a cigarette with a grim expression on his face.
“Help me find out who Sabrina has been close to recently and who she has taken home with her.” Calvin put out the cigarette and spoke again. “Have you found the person who spread the rumor using the video?”
“Mr. Xavier, I haven’t found out who uploaded the video yet, but the woman in the video… is…” The assistant hesitated on the other end of the line.
“Go ahead!”
“It’s Jacqueline.”
Calvin smiled helplessly. “No wonder Sabrina would be implicated despite having nothing to do with it. Jacqueline does look like Sabrina from some angles. It seems that she has Sabrina to thank for carrying the blame for her this time,” he thought.
“Who is that man?” Although Calvin wasn’t interested in Jacqueline’s private life, they were family after all, so he needed to watch her back.
“A newcomer in Clusia Entertainment, a young model named Harvey Kingsley.”
“Huh?” Calvin smiled helplessly and rubbed between his eyebrows. “Okay, got it.”
“Harvey hasn’t given up on my sister yet?” he wondered.
In the bathroom, Sabrina was soaking in the bathtub with a facial mask on, watching the video of the “passionate kiss” that Elena sent her.
“It’s not even a passionate kiss. The media sure knows how to make groundless accusations,” she remarked internally.
The video was very short. It didn’t rule out the possibility that whoever took it had deliberately chosen an angle that would create a more impactful video.
The profile of the woman in the video was indeed a bit similar to Sabrina’s. It was no wonder the netizens had mistaken
