Chapter 15
Sabrina’s expression darkened. All those times, she would, at most, only hear rumors about herself. Harvey was the first who dared to confront her face-to-face.
“Tell me, then. Who gave you the confidence to question me without fear?”
Looking up at Harvey, Sabrina could not find any trace of trust in his eyes.
Undeniably, Harvey had already believed the rumors.
In fact, Sabrina had been convicted the second Harvey put forward the interrogation.
He went on, “Don’t you know that Calvin doesn’t have a thing for you? If he did, he wouldn’t have gotten engaged to the scion of Leanne Group!” After all, it had long been publicly announced that Calvin had a fiancée.
“It’s just like you and me, Harvey. We’re all only making use of one another, aren’t we all? Why is this news to you?” Sabrina appeared to be collected as always. There was no sign of emotion in her eyes.
“Don’t you have anything to explain?” Harvey narrowed his eyes to slits as he clenched Sabrina’s chin, trying to lock his lips with hers. “I may be young and unaware of your private life, Sabbie, but I can feel what’s happening inside you.”
No matter what relationship Sabrina and Calvin had, at least Harvey could have physical intimacy with her.
“Why must I explain myself to you?” Sabrina dodged Harvey’s lips. Her palms, though, were already sweating from all the burning passion.
A slight furrow was formed between Harvey’s eyebrows. He could not comprehend why it was hard for Sabrina to explain. “You ought to know your place, Sabbie. By getting entangled with Calvin like that, do you think his fiancée will let you off easily?”
Harvey’s gaze became grimmer as he got no response from Sabrina.
Truth be told, he was purely worried that those ridiculous rumors would eventually reach the ears of Leanne Group’s CEO, and by then, Sabrina could get into trouble.
Sabrina, for one, had always been a nonchalant person, so she would not be able to explain herself when the time arrived. At that point, Sabrina evidently felt the oppression from the man in front of her.
It was once again the same terror that made her feel suffocated.
“Let’s break up, Harvey.”
Sabrina no longer wanted to have anything to do with Harvey, regardless of whatever relationship she might share with
anyone.
Harvey had finally crossed the line.
After taking a deep breath, Sabrina analyzed her relationship with Harvey consciously and rationally.
She then found it ridiculous that she had actually wanted to date a man like him.
Both of them simply did not belong in the same world. They both yearned to experience the so-called love only because they had been secretly involved with each other.
For the first time in the 28 years of her life, Sabrina found herself truly laughable.
She knew that there were things she should have never been involved with.
Before the circumstance turned dire, she had to be decisive and completely sever all ties.
“Break up?” Harvey loosened his grip on Sabrina. All his hostility toward her seemed to have frozen instantly.
ened
“What’s the meaning of this?” he wondered.
“You’ve crossed a line.” Sabrina tidied up her suit and walked off upon saying those words.
Watching Sabrina’s resolute back, Harvey was enraged, as if a bomb had been detonated in his chest.
“This woman is heartless!” he fumed internally.
That very night, Sabrina found herself drinking, which was a rare occurrence.
No matter how Rayne had persuaded her in the past, she would have never indulged like that.
“Brynna, Zayden’s a good guy, you know. He’s only three years younger than you, so you two suit each other. Why don’t you try getting along with him? Maybe you’ll fall for him and even want to tie the knot?” suggested Rayne. She thought it was too hard for Sabrina to live alone like that.
As Sabrina’s best friend, she could support and back Sabrina up, but she could never be the one who could click with Sabrina on a spiritual level.

Chapter 15
A woman like Sabrina did not need to get herself a man who could match her status. She needed someone who could take care of her, share her burden, and lessen her suffering in life.
Sabrina became tipsy as she leaned against the couch and let out a chortle. “What’s his name again?”
“Huh?” Rayne thought her ears must be playing tricks on her. That was the first time Sabrina was interested in the person she had introduced.
“Zayden Lopez, the model of Hazel Magazine. He’s not a newbie anymore. I’m also familiar with his family background. He’s upright, so there won’t be a problem if you’re willing to give him a chance!” Rayne would never put Sabrina in harm’s way. Zayden was definitely an excellent candidate to be her best friend’s boyfriend.
“Okay, tell him to stay with me for the night…” Sabrina only felt like she was insane to have said that.
Perhaps the alcohol was already getting to her.
That was why she rarely drank.
She would not even drink at business meetings.
That was logical, for alcohol would amplify one’s desire and courage.
Rayne screamed and stood up from her seat altogether. She was so shocked that she thought she had misheard it. “Brynna! You’re finally enlightened! Don’t listen to those doctors’ nonsense. You’re not asexual, and you’re not sick!”
Sabrina shot Rayne a glare. “Would you like a megaphone to help you with that?”
Rayne hurriedly covered her mouth and sat beside Sabrina. She was so excited that she could shed tears of joy. “Try to date someone, Brynna. Emotional support is really, really important. If you keep going on like this, I…”
Even Rayne was starting to feel afraid for her best friend.
“It’s been so many years since what happened to your parents. It’s time for you to think about yourself and your future,” she added.
Sabrina lowered her gaze as she listened to that. She could feel a stinging pain assailing her eyes. Not a word came out of her mouth.
