Pestered By My Young by Bella Bruno Chapter 13

Chapter 13
Sabrina still had work to do, and her assistant was waiting for her downstairs.
Instead of chasing Harvey away that instant, she warned the man to go downstairs later for fear that her assistant might run into him.
Harvey sat on the couch and watched Sabrina leave with a meaningful look in his eyes. He did not avert his gaze for a very long time.
“She wants me to reconsider whether we should continue. Huh? How interesting,” he mused.
In truth, Sabrina was really afraid of getting deeply involved with Harvey,
Yet, such a calm woman was likely the most difficult prey to deal with, often making one’s blood boil even more.
The desire to conquer had always been a common trait among men.
Leaning against the couch. Harvey carefully scrutinized Sabrina’s residence.
That place was in the most common rental area of Hofcaster. Sabrina’s home interior decoration looked clean and elegant, showcasing her excellent taste.
The house was not very big. It only consisted of a single bedroom, living room, kitchen, and bathroom. It was not hard to guess that Sabrina must have gotten used to living alone.
Judging from Sabrina’s status in the industry, even if she could not afford a property in Hofcaster, she need not have to settle for a rented place like that in such a seedy area.
“Where are all her savings?” Harvey wondered.
Harvey narrowed his eyes and became more and more curious about what other secrets Sabrina might be hiding.
Jeffrey. I need you to look into someone for me. The more detailed, the better. Also, check who the invitees are to that Grand Dynasty show.”
Harvey rubbed the space between his eyebrows. The anger in his chest became increasingly difficult to suppress.
He did not mean to listen to Sabrina’s conversation over the phone, yet it was such a coincidence that he happened to overhear the woman on the other end of the phone claiming that she was going to find a newcomer.
Indeed, Harvey reckoned that that person must not have been working hard enough.
That had to be the reason for Sabrina to consider recruiting other people.
Meanwhile, Sabrina was already on Summer Island.
Being a darling of the fashion industry, Sabrina was a young female photographer who had overcome countless obstacles with a series of award-winning works. For that, she had always been the target of criticism and slander among her peers in the industry.
The whole Grand Dynasty show invited only Sabrina from the photography industry. Just look at those shots of hers. You call that a photo?”
“I heard she’s been striving to bid and hold a personal visual arts exhibition in Hofcaster for a while already. She’s a career woman, I must say.”
“Pifi! Visual arts? They’re so emotionless.”
“Ha. It’s all just a cover up, you see. Sabrina’s been trying very hard to craft herself a persona of an otherworldly, innocent fair lady. In reality, she’s doing all she can to conceal her messed up private life.”
“That’s right. She’s only 28, young and sweet, but she’s already been favored by so many people from the fashion industry. I’m unsure of her background, but who knows how many men she’s slept with just to get there?”
Sabrina had long been numb to all the gossip. She had even heard of various tales being spun about her from all kinds of
sources.
Her broad-legged suit perfectly outlined her legs and hips as Sabrina crossed her slender legs.
There was a banquet the night before the show, Sabrina did not put on makeup but had a pair of large-framed rose-gold glasses on her, which made her look quite icy,
“Speak of the devil. Look! Here she comes!”
When Sabrina got out of the car, the gossipmongers looked away contemptuously.
It was rather typical for people like them to be slandering those who had it better than them in life.
“What are those women muttering about?” Rayne frowned and was quite annoyed.

“Why are you bothered by a bunch of blabbermouths?” Sabrina arched a brow as she continued toward the cruise ship.
The sea breeze was a little chilly Sabrina’s hair danced with the wind, and her fair face only became even frostier as if she were indeed some otherworldly person.
“Rayne!*
That banquet was quite an exaggeration. Rayne was surrounded and greeted by a group of young models the second she stepped on the cruise ship.
Sabrina, for one, genuinely did not find that kind of reception pleasing.
Sabrina took a glass of champagne and looked at the sea view absent-mindedly. She was never keen to indulge in luxury living
“What’s up with you and that newbie Harvey?” probed Rayne. She had been thinking about the matter that Sabrina had asked of her.
Tm not too well-acquainted with him. We’ve only met a few times.” Sabrina was honest in a way, for she did only see Harvey a couple of times.
“What a coincidence it must be, then. He’s here today, too.” Rayne smirked like a sly fox.
Sabrina coughed upon hearing those words. She lifted her gaze and saw Harvey among that group of models. The latter was staring right in the direction where Sabrina was standing.
Sabrina choked for a bit and coughed slightly at that. She pretended not to know Harvey.
Obviously, Harvey heard what she had said about being unfamiliar with him.
Feeling inexplicably guilty, Sabrina turned her back to Harvey, but she could still feel a sharp gaze pinned on her.
Why was he here?
“It’s rare for them to greet me like this. Of course, I’ll have to take good care of these newcomers.” Rayne smiled and clung to Sabrina. “Look! Quick! Did any of them manage to catch your eye?”
“Mind you, they’re all youngsters,” Sabrina warned Rayne not to set her up for anything.
Sadly, Rayne could not care less about restraining herself. She waved at one of the men. “Zayden! Zayden Lopez! Come over here. I’ll introduce you to someone. You do know her, right? She’s Sabrina Hayes.”
Sabrina was unsure if she imagined things, for she seemed to hear something shattering. Unwittingly, she shifted her line of sight to Harvey and felt her chest tighten immediately.
For the first time, she saw the gloominess in Harvey’s eyes.
The latter’s mien was so menacing that it was suffocating to look at.
