“Is that enough?” Jackson asked with a smile.
Serenity bit her lips slightly. After a short moment, she responded, “Yes.”
The waiter asked politely, “Can you really finish it? These are more than enough to feed seven to eight people. Would it be too much for you two?”
Jackson replied indifferently, “That’s all for now.”
Seeing this, the waiter took the menu, turned around, and left
Jackson turned to Serenity. “If it’s not enough, you can order more later.”
His indulgent tone made her heart s kip a beat again.

“The money for these dishes may be nothing to you, but 1… I don’t want to waste the food.” Serenity bit her lips again.
In the past, Serenity used to be wasteful of food. She would order all her favorite food in one go but taste only a little of each. She would not finish her food by giving excuses, saying things like keeping fit and dieting to lose weight.
Her life had changed drastically after that. After her life had turned upside down, she realized having a good meal was not
always easy.
While in prison, she would eat everything. It was her only way to live. Her inmates would pick on her sometime maliciously drop her food on the ground. Even so, she had to pick up the edible bits and eat anyway.
If unlucky, she would not have anything to eat. Her inmates might pull a prank on her and turn the food inedible. When that happened, she would have to wait for the next meal with an empty stomach.
Her inmates once pulled a nasty prank on her for two days. She had nothing but water for two days. That was when she experienced the fear of hunger
After her release from prison, she would clean her plate and never waste food.
Such was the irony of human nature-only when they suffered from hunger did they truly value food.
