Chapter 33
Hugh warned and then strode out of the room.
Chad rubbed his nose and had a playful smile on his face.

On the other side.
After having breakfast and returning upstairs, Mira received a call from Paige.
“Paige…”
“Mira, today Allen’s parents will have dinner with Mom and Dad at Palm Restaurant. It’s a formal meeting between our families. Why don’t you come over as well?” Paige suggested.
Mira was surprised. “Really? They agreed to meet with his family. Weren’t they quite opposed to it before?”
There was a brief pause before Paige sighed in resignation. “Allen gave Dad 320 thousand dollars and introduced a business project to Mom.”
Mira suddenly realized. “I didn’t expect him to be quite capable.”
“Yeah, I only found out these past few days. Allen’s father is the dean of a university, and his mother is a highly experienced professor,” Paige said with a slight smile.
“No wonder, they must have a good network in Svallion City,” Mira said slowly. “But I… Isn’t it a bit awkward for me to join you? Your mom has never liked me.

“Allen knows I have a sister, and he specifically asked me to invite you,” Paige said with a smile. “Besides, this is a great moment in my life, and I want you to be there. Don’t worry. I talked to my mom. With me around, she won’t make things difficult for you.”
“Alright, then come to pick me up at the entrance. There aren’t even
any taxis around here, and it’s quite inconvenient for me.”
Half an hour later.
Paige sent a message saying she was almost there, and Mira immediately went outside to wait.
At the entrance, there was Paige’s white Mercedes-Benz.
Mira got in the car and said, “Let’s go. Go! The security guard is watching this way. Don’t let him see you, the real daughter of the Boyle family.”
“Let him! He’s never met me anyway,” Paige chuckled. “In the future, when people from the Boyle family see me, you can just say I’m your friend, or that I’m the little stepsister.”
“Forget it. It’s obvious that you look older than me.”
Mira had barely finished speaking when Paige pinched her waist.
“Paige, eyes on the road, please,” Mira pleaded, shrinking away from the pinch.
Paige stopped pinching her and said, “This place is a bit remote. If you plan to live here, I suggest you get a car as soon as possible. You do have 8.3 million dollars, right?”
“I wanna use it to buy a house.”
“With a bit more than 1.6 million dollars, you can buy a nice
apartment,” Paige said, knowing her personality. “If you’re reluctant to spend too much, you can get a decent car for just over 16 thousand for daily commuting.”
“Okay, then. This afternoon, I’ll go get a car. Go with me.”
Paige hesitated for a moment and said, “Allen is going back to the school this afternoon, and I need to take Abby to her dance cla**. I’m afraid I won’t have the time.”
Mira couldn’t help but sigh when she saw her sister, who was so young, already becoming a busy mother.

As they arrived at Palm Restaurant, Paige parked her car, and they got out of it together.
Soon, a Porsche pulled up nearby.
Mariah got out of the car with a strong and confident demeanor. Despite being in her forties or fifties, she looked like she was in her thirties. When she walked alongside Paige, they looked more like sisters than mother and daughter.
Mira couldn’t help but think of her biological mother, Elle. In fact, Elle was two years younger than Mariah, but due to her years of
housework, she appeared older than Mariah.
Mariah took off her sungla**es and glanced at Mira. “You’re getting more and more like your mom. What a vixen!”
