Thinking of Simon’s behavior at the loft and the large diamond ring she kept in the hotel room safe, Erin felt inexplicably guilty that she had something to hide. Even when facing Megan, she wasn’t as nervous as she was now.

That one sentence revealed the reason for his presence there.
In a hurry to explain, Erin said, “Mr. Frost, you’ve come for Ms. Zeigler, haven’t you? She’s-”
