Chapter 8 The Man You Dumped
After having two glasses of cocktails yesterday, Vanessa went to bed late last “night. The hangover made her uncomfortable. However, she couldn’t continue her sleep after waking up to Nicole’s call early in the morning.
“What’s the matter, Nicole?”
Having suppressed her temperament for a long time in the Bates residence, Vanessa resembled a restless beast that had just been released from the cage at the moment.

“Did I wake you up?”

some water.”

Vanessa entered the bathroom in her slippers. Staring at her reflection in the mirror, she didn’t like how she looked. Her hair was a mess, and her skin was not
in good condition after the hangover. “It’s just a divorce. I don’t have to make myself like this,” she thought.
Half an hour later, Vanessa was somehow uncomfortable when she looked at the gossip news on her phone. Nevertheless, she had expected to read something like this. She only felt that it was a little ridiculous.
She logged out from the app. Now that she had divorced Killian, matters like Killian having a date with Louise in the middle of the night had nothing to do with her anymore.
After breakfast, Vanessa applied makeup to her face and put on a blue dress. Then, she drove her dusty Ferrari out of the garage, heading straight to CloudRain Entertainment.
Vanessa had gone there yesterday: Edmund and Nicole were with her in person. Hence, when the receptionist saw Vanessa again, she was respectful.”Miss James, are you here for Miss Clarke?”
Vanessa smiled, “Yes. Is she around?” “She just arrived. I’ll press the elevator button for you.”

Nothing but a divorce certificate. Soon, the elevator doors opened. Coming back to herself, she walked out of the elevator and went straight to Nicole’s office.
When Annis saw her, she was a little surprised. “Miss James, why are you here?” “Just to have a look.” Smiling, she pointed
at Nicole’s office door, which was closed. “Can I go in?”

Vanessa nodded. “Thank you for your hard work. I’ll tell her to be more careful.”

Only Vanessa and Luca could stop Nicole from creating trouble. As her manager, Annis could only handle the aftermath and try to mitigate any negative consequences. I’ll be taking my leave now, Miss James.” Vanessa pushed the door open and walked into Nicole’s office. At the moment, the glamorous actress was staring at the tablet excitedly.
“What are you looking at?” Sitting down beside her, Vanessa patted Nicole’s crossed legs.

“The gossip about your ex and Louise! It’s actually getting quite touching the more I read it.”
Vanessa glanced at her. “What did you say?”
Nicole sensed a cold shiver swim down her spine and quickly put on a righteous expression. “I think they are just a shameless pair! They got together right after you divorced Killian. Are they afraid that others don’t know they truly love each other?”
Pouring herself a cup of tea, Vanessa asked, “You’re quite pumped up.”

You can attend it with Edmund and be all lovey- dovey in front of them! What’s so good about Killian? He is just a man who has been dumped by.you. Edmund is so much better!”
“Vanessa raised her brows, “Do you dare say these in front of Killian?”
Of course, Nicole didn’t. “We are all decent people. How can we argue with them in public? We have to humiliate them in a different way. Trust me. As long as you take Edmund with you, the public will definitely be on your side!”
“Enough! Stop getting Edmund involved. Have you seen the comments posted by his female fans?”

Nicole cleared her throat. “I heard that Louise invited Killian to be the special
guest.” Hearing that, Vanessa turned to look at Nicole. “Do I look like a show to you?”

Frowning, Vanessa said, “Boring.”
Nicole clicked her tongue. “What do you mean? Ella is Edmund’s die-hard fan. The company Louise is working for even contacted Edmund’s manager and wanted. to hold an art exhibition with him. Let them have a taste of their own medicine. You failed to invite the Bates two years ago. This time, they won’t be able to invite Edmund too.”
“Oh, that sounds interesting!” Vanessa shot her a faint smile. “You even know how to set me up now.”
