Agnes let go of Beatrice’s hand, turning to leave

But do you know, the Whitfields were behind your mom’s death, and you marned Jared to enjoy the glitz and glamour, your mom would be furious if she knew” Agnes stopped dead in her tracks.
She turned around, “Beatrice, what did you say? You better make yourself clear today!
“Alright, I’ll spill the beans. Your mom took her own life, but do you know why? Because she pocketed a donation and was shamed when it went public. She couldn’t handle the public scrutiny and committed suicide. That donation was from Alyssa Whitfield. Your mom and Alyssa were buddies, tumed enemies over a guy. It was public knowledge in our circle then. Don’t you think your mom’s suicide was fishy? It could have been Alyssa’s doing. And you still call her sister so affectionately, Agnes, you’ve actually married into your enemy’s family.”
Suddenly, Agnes felt a chill run through her body
She had looked up the newspapers from ten years ago.
Her mom did commit suicide due to the exposure of a 2-million donation, which ruined her reputation.
But Agnes couldn’t trace the source of the donation.

He didn’t want to ruin your marriage so he kept it from you. But Agnes, some truths can’t be hidden. The Whitfields are linked to your mom’s death. Agnes felt as if she’d been hit by a bolt of lightning. Her mind reeled, and she tried to process what she’d heard.
