Chapter 10 Megan’s Notebook
Meanwhile, Gavin was at Tide Villa.
Valaric hung up on him, which left him stunned for a few seconds, failing to come back to his senses.
He thought, “She is so decisive and cold. She isn’t the wife who cried and begged me not to divorce her at all.
“So, during those three years, she had no feelings for me at all. She was merely suffering for some unknown purpose.”
Gavin was furious.
“Mr. Sheppard, here’s your coffee.”
Derek walked in and, seeing his grave face, asked tentatively, “Have you reached Mrs. Sheppard? Did you get her new phone number?”
Gavin held his forehead, looking sullen. He was so angry that he didn’t get things done.
He thought, “I figured that after Megan left, I would be overjoyed. Yet now I’m so frustrated seeing her and Jason together.
“Damn! Who gives her the right to affect me?”
“Some other time. I don’t want to hear her name for now.”
Gavin took a sip of the coffee and frowned suddenly.
“What is with the coffee? It’s terrible.”
“I… made it according to the recipe Mrs. Sheppard gave me. How so?”

Derek scratched his head, confused.
“Recipe?”
“Before Mrs. Sheppard left, she gave me a notebook with details of your tastes. The food you hate, the way to make your favorite coffee, and even the things you ate more on a certain day were written down in detail.”
Derek took out the notebook and handed it over to Gavin.
Gavin took it, hesitated for a second, and then opened it slowly.
What caught his eye was her neat handwriting, which was as prim as the way she used to be.
She wrote, “A little salt adds flavor to the coffee. Gavin loves it.
“Gavin had a lot of the seafood soup I made in the morning. I can make it more often.
“Gavin doesn’t like food too sweet. I can try pastries that are less sweet, and maybe he’ll like them.
“I bought Gavin a couple of ties last year, and he never tried on the red ones. Looks like Gavin hates red…”
For every note, she wrote down his name.
Her mind was filled with the name “Gavin“.
She cared about nothing else.
He was her everything.
Gavin held his breath as he turned the pages as if he feared blowing
the letters away.
Ilis eyes darkened, and he crumpled the papers.

“She is so cager to read my mind. Of course, she is up to something!”
Gavin had mixed emotions about what was written in the notebook, but he was still angry, so he threw the notebook into the trash can with a wave of his hand.
“Don’t! Mr. Sheppard, Mrs. Sheppard has put a lot of effort into this for three years. If she didn’t care about you, why did she waste her time? It seems to me that you are very important to Mrs. Sheppard!” Derek ran to pick up the notebook, looking sad.
“Don’t call her Mrs. Sheppard again. She doesn’t deserve it.”
Just then, there was a noise outside the study.
It sounded like it was coming from the right side of the hallway.
The room there belonged to Megan.
“Go out to see what’s going on.” Gavin rubbed his brows wearily.
Derek hurried out of the study and returned with complicated eyes.
“Mr. Sheppard, it’s Ms. Hull. She…”
“What about Stacey?”
“She is throwing everything out of Mrs. Sheppard … no, your ex–wife’s bedroom.”
Stacey was acting crazily right now, running amok in Valarie’s bedroom.
“You bitch! You bumpkin! Leonard dotes on you, and that’s why you are so arrogant! He gave you a bracelet. What’s the big deal? How dare

you despise me!”
Valarie and Gavin had signed divorce papers, and Valaric walked out without taking anything. Right now, Stacey was throwing all the skin care products on Valarie’s table and the bedside ornaments on the floor as if they were garbage.
By the time Gavin arrived, it was a mess.
“Stacey, what are you doing?” He frowned.
“I hate that there are traces of your lives here. I hate to be reminded of Megan!”
Seeing Gavin, Stacey cried again. She said, “If it weren’t for her… how could you and I have missed three years? She’s the one who took my spot. How can she act like I plotted against her? She makes me look like a mistress!”
“Stacey, you are not a mistress. Don’t think like that.”
Gavin’s eyes darkened. He bent over and picked up one of the smashed ornaments.
It was shaped like a frog, and it was actually making a victory sign.
He smiled without him realizing it.
Meanwhile, Stacey opened the closet and started throwing Valarie’s clothes away.
“What’s this?”
She opened a large box and saw a well–tailored men’s suit in a fine fabric inside.
She sneered, “This is her gift for Mr. Dodson, isn’t it? She’s already

prepared for a rainy day and found her next husband, right?”
Hearing her words, Gavin walked over and picked up the box, his eyes gloomy.
“Gavin, she’s such a bitch! I thought she married you, because she had you in her heart, and she would take care of you more or less. Who knows? She was just using you as her social ladder! She made you look like a fool!”
Stacey’s eyes were red. She picked up the fruit knife from the coffee table and rushed up to cut the suit.
Gavin acted quickly and protected the box underneath him.
The fruit knife cut his arm, and crimson blood soaked through his white shirt immediately.
“I’m sorry, Gavin!”
The knife in Stacey’s hand fell to the ground. She covered her mouth in astonishment and fear, and her mind was blank. She knew nothing except for crying.
“Hey! What’s going on?”
Louise hurried up accompanied by the maid. She was horrified to see that Gavin was injured and that the dripping blood had turned the white carpet red. “Gavin… What’s with the knife?”
“Derek, arrange for a car to send Ms. Hull back.” Gavin suppressed the pain and took a deep breath helplessly.
“No, Gavin. I want to be with you!” Stacey hastily held Gavin.
“She’s right, Gavin. It’s so late now. Why don’t you just let her stay here? Now that you’re injured, she can take care of you,” Louise

echoed.
She said those words while considering her own benefits. She even wished she could send Stacey to Gavin’s bed tonight.
“No need, She can go back,” Gavin said firmly.
“She’ll marry you sooner or later…”
“She’ll marry me someday, and we have a lot of days to spend together. Before we get married, she should sleep in her own bed. In such a way, she gets to be with her family. Also, Megan and I are still going through the divorce process, so it wouldn’t be appropriate for Stacey to stay.”
Hearing that, Louise had no words to retort.
After seeing off Stacey, who kept crying, Gavin looked at the messy room and sighed, and then he ordered the servants to tidy up the room.
“Come look at this, Mr. Sheppard!”
Surprised, Derek stood in front of the closet and took out a stunning
costume.
Gavin walked over and checked out the costume. The costume, with its exquisite workmanship in an aqua–pink silky fabric and vivid floral embroidery, was obviously expensive.
Gavin’s eyelashes trembled.
He was immersed in thoughts.
“Mrs. Sheppard can do drama? I’m so impressive!” Derek sighed heartily. He had been amazed by Valarie several times within a day.
He thought, “She is so badass and pretty. How come Mr. Sheppard just

doesn’t fall for her?”
“Have you ever heard a saying?”
“What?”
“Bitches are the same heartless as those in plays.”
Gavin pressed his thin lips into a straight line, and an indescribable manic depression overwhelmed him
