Chapter 4 Trying to Seduce Me?
Zachary sat on the couch, tapping the armrest with his slender fingers, exuding an air of elegance and dignity.
He appeared indifferent to the happenings around him.
Inwardly, Gladys called out for his assistance.
Julie, in her high heels, reached the curtains.
Gladys was on the brink of tears.
She closed her eyes, searching for excuses in her mind, preparing for the worst.
At that crucial moment, the man on the couch finally ended the silence.
“Julie, I’ve run out of wine. Go buy a bottle for me.”
Julie stopped in her tracks.
Despite not having an intimate relationship with Zachary, they had spent a considerable amount of time together. She knew Zachary wouldn’t settle for wine from just any store.
She, however, had no habit of refusing Zachary. “Okay.”
With that, Julie went outside.
Just before she exited, Julie cast a glance at the feet under the curtain.
It was too conspicuous for her to overlook.
Julie’s suspicions were validated: someone was attempting to seduce her fiancé. What kind of woman could prompt the noble and reserved Zachary to deceive?
As the footsteps receded, the villa returned to tranquility.
Gladys’s heart, which had almost jumped out of her throat, finally returned to its place.

That was close. If it weren’t for Zachary, she would have been caught.
In retrospect, their recent actions seemed like an attempt to conceal something between them, and the realization caused Gladys to blush.
She walked out and said, “Thank you for helping me. I’ll be leaving.”
“Leaving?” Zachary sneered, his sharp gaze fixed on her. “Why do you look exactly
like Julie?”
His voice was cold, akin to interrogating a criminal. The message was clear: he wouldn’t permit her departure until she provided a satisfactory explanation.
Gladys halted in her tracks.
As twins, Gladys and her sister naturally bore an identical appearance. Even they had been surprised at their initial encounter.
The challenge now was how to explain it without revealing the significant secret she was harboring.
Her hesitation made Zachary’s already cold expression even more frosty.
He stood up, walked over gracefully, and looked down at her.
“Plastic surgery? Are you trying to impersonate Julie and seduce me?” he demanded, his voice was exceptionally cold.
Each word was laced with disdain.
Gladys‘ eyebrows furrowed.
Plastic surgery? Seduce him?
Gladys, born with her natural features, even her eyelashes, couldn’t fathom which part of her resembled the result of plastic surgery. His accusation left her feeling offended.
She promptly defended herself, “Sir, you made a move on me, not the other way
around.”
“I was just here to deliver takeout, but you pulled me into your arms, mentioning something about role–playing. You even kissed me. That was sexual assault. I cant sue you for that!” As she recounted their previous interaction, Gladys blushed once
again.
Zachary had never faced such a scolding. Even the president of the country had to show him respect. Yet, this girl was now threatening to sue him for sexual assault.
With a sharp look in his eyes, Zachary sneered, “Sue me? Go ahead. Let’s see if the court rules that I sexually assaulted you or if you impersonated my fiancée and seduced me.”
His pleasant voice carried a hint of threat.
Zachary was a bigwig, while Gladys was just a nobody. Most people would tend to believe him.
But Gladys didn’t try to seduce him.
Gladys was infuriated and frustrated. Not only did this guy take advantage of her, but he also tried to make it sound like her fault.
That was unbelievable!
Staring into his eyes, Gladys snapped, “Sir, haven’t you ever heard of twins? I’m Gladys Almond, Julie’s twin sister. Running into you was purely a coincidence. I hid from my sister just now because I wasn’t supposed to appear in her life. I don’t want her to get the wrong idea. If you don’t believe me, you can look into it.”
Her voice was clear and forceful.
Zachary’s eyebrows furrowed.
He hadn’t considered the possibility of twins. When did Julie have a twin sister?
Gladys added, “Also, only a blind man would mistake someone for his wife. I would never fall for someone like that, let alone try to seduce you!”
With that being said, Gladys held her chin high and walked away.
Zachary stared at her departing figure, his face darkening.
Did she just say he was blind and that she would never fall for him? Who cared? It was not like he would fall for her.
But…
The feeling of kissing her flashed back, and Zachary licked his lips.
