Chapter 14 Julie Is Locked Up
Zachary went back to his bedroom. Hoping Mars not to see Gladys, who looked identical to Julie and had a sinister motive, Zachary called Julie.
“Sorry, the number you have dialed is currently busy. Please try again later,” the mechanical customer service reminded.
Figuring Julie was busy, Zachary hung up with a frown.
Meanwhile, Colin turned off Julie’s phone and threw it into the tub.
He looked at the naked, unconscious Julie lying on the bed, his eyes full of triumph and satisfaction.
What a beautiful night.
The phone on the table rang. It was his.
Smiling, he took the phone and answered, “Tracy, what’s up?”
Tracy said expectantly, “Mr. Marsh, how did it go? Smoothly?”
Colin had promised to give her 5,000 dollars if he got to sleep with Gladys. Julie had also said she’d give her a sum afterward. The total amount would be enough to cover her expenses for over six months. So, Tracy tricked Gladys into going to The Elegant Palate. She was dying to know the result now.
Colin grinned from ear to ear, “Yes, I nailed her. She’s lying beside me right now. I like young girls. They have fair and tender skin and soft bodies. The sex was fascinating, the best ever in my life.
“I’m gonna keep her with me. She’s not going back. The marriage certificate can wait. I’ll have someone transfer the money to you tomorrow.”
He wanted to sleep with this beautiful woman every night.
Tracy was overjoyed. She said immediately, “OK. OK. No problem. But she’s tough. You better lock her up and tame her.”

Tracy and Colin plotted like rats in a gutter.
The unconscious Julie was their food.
Gladys didn’t know Tracy was scheming against her and made such a mistake. After leaving the villa, Gladys didn’t want to go back. She called Daisy Brooks, her best friend.
Daisy came to meet with her in a pink car.
After hearing Gladys out, she cursed, “How could that old woman do that to you? What a heartless bitch! No, even a bitch has a heart. She doesn’t have one!
“On the other hand, Gladys, you accidentally saw your son and can be with Mr. Bradshaw every day from today on. The whole thing turns out to be a blessing in disguise. How I envy you!
“Will the love story in soap operas happen between you and Mr. Bradshaw?”
Gladys rolled her eyes. “When will you grow up and stop watching the stupid TV series? Seriously, promise me. Don’t let Vicky know about her father.”
Gladys had told Vicky her father died. Vicky liked good–looking people. If she knew her father was alive and that he was successful and handsome, she might go with Zachary.
Daisy looked at Gladys. “Why not? That’s Zachary, the dream man of all women and the idol of all men throughout the country. If he knows you’re the mother of his son and that you two have such a lovely daughter, he’ll marry you. Then, you’ll live a comfortable life for the rest of your life. Isn’t that great?”
Gladys shook her head fiercely. “No, it’s not! He can’t even recognize his wife. I’m interested in that kind of stupid man. Besides, he’s my brother–in–law. I’ve never even imagined being with him.
“I only hope Mars will regain his innocence and health and that Zachary and Julie will leave Salvon City soon. Then, my life will be peaceful again.”
Gladys spoke in a serious tone.

Looking at her, Daisy shook her head resignedly.
Other women would kill to attach themselves to Zachary, but Gladys… Why was she so stupid?
Wait. That was her advantage. Usually, successful men like stupid women, right?
Gladys wanted to change the subject. She said, “All right. I called you because I needed a favor. I want Vicky to stay in your home for some time.
“As you know, Tracy may be mean, but she was good to Vicky before. I stayed because it saved me the rest and she could take care of Vicky for me. But now, she’s forced me to marry Colin even though she knows he hurts children. I must keep Vicky safe. Looking after Mars takes up a lot of my time. I’m afraid Tracy may take Vicky to Colin behind my back someday.””
Daisy nodded, “That vicious woman is capable of that. Let’s go get Vicky immediately.”
“Hmm. Thank you.”
“Don’t be a stranger. You can thank me when you and Mr. Bradshaw get married,” Daisy quipped.
Gladys was embarrassed.
She never thought of marrying Zachary. Why did Daisy keep joking about it?
It gave Gladys a headache.
