Chapter 13 Three Requests
An hour later, Zachary went downstairs.
Despite the slight disarray of his suit, resulting from caring for Mars, Zachary retained his handsome and poised appearance.
Uttering coldly, he commanded, “Come and take care of him every day.”
Recognizing the importance of fulfilling autistic children’s desires, Gladys, who had never shouldered the responsibility as Mars‘ mother, couldn’t stand idly by.
Without hesitation, she agreed, “Okay, I will.”
Zachary, expecting more, queried, “Is that it? No inquiries about salary?”
He became more convinced that she harbored ulterior motives.
His handsome face darkened, but with Mars in need, he felt he had no other choice.
He said, “No rush. I have three points to make clear.
“First, you stay here because Mars is sick. You should know who you are. I need to make it clear in advance to avoid misunderstandings.”
He referred to what had happened last night.
But for Gladys, they made mistakes and gave her no chance to explain. She thought, “Why should I take the blame?”
“Second, once he gets better, you must leave at once. If you use him or have any other thoughts, I will teach you a hard lesson.”
Gladys was speechless.
He thought she had ulterior intentions about him!
Gladys thought, “I’m the one who wants to teach you a lesson, you narcissistic, proud peacock!”

“The third condition is the most crucial,” Zachary declared, rising to his feet. His imposing stature emitted a powerful aura.
Advancing towards her with measured steps, he halted just a step away. With pride, he handed her an unlimited credit card.
“Your responsibility is to care for Mars. I don’t want you getting involved with other men or engaging in immoral activities. It could negatively impact Mars. If you require funds, use the money from this card,” he stated firmly.
He gave an order in his cold voice.
The unlimited credit card represented his high status.
Gladys was shocked.
She thought, “When did I fool around with men or do something immoral? You are a playboy!”
Grateful for the offered financial support, Gladys accepted the card, intending to provide Vicky with a better life using the funds.
Holding the card, she reassured, “Don’t worry. As long as your vision is clear, there won’t be any misunderstandings. I’m staying for him, not for you.”
With a pointed remark, she added, “Even if I were to seek companionship, I’d choose a kind and attractive man, not a married 30–year–old. You’re like leftovers, Mr. Iceberg. Even your playboy friend is more charming!”
It amused Timothy when he heard “leftovers” and “Mr. Iceberg“.
It was the first time that someone had described Zachary this way!
Timothy thought, “Wait… What did she mean? Playboy? Come on! That’s humiliating!”
Timothy was a bit annoyed in the corner.
Zachary didn’t expect her to be so sharp–tongued and narrowed his sharp eyes as
if they had been dangerous blades. “You’d better keep your promise, or…”
He didn’t finish his words, but the horrible consequences could be foreseen.
There would be a living hell.

Gladys understood, but she was not afraid because she had no ulterior intentions.
“I will keep my promise,” she said firmly and turned around to walk away.
After she left, Timothy finally got the chance to ask.
“Zachary, who is she? Where is she from? Looks like she’s not Julie.”
It was an affirmative sentence. Julie was gentle to Zachary and admired him. She would never treat him that way!
Zachary’s handsome face was gloomy. He said, “Gladys Almond. Julie’s twin sister.”
It shocked Timothy.
“They look exactly the same! I can’t tell the difference.
“By the way, Mars was actually close to her and spoke! That’s wired.”
Zachary was also taken aback, but a certain logic resonated within him. “Julie is occupied, and Mars desires to be with his mother. He must have mistaken Gladys for his mother.”
Zachary’s tone remained cold. He harbored the belief that Gladys intentionally approached him due to her resemblance to Julie, both yesterday and today. Otherwise, he reasoned, there couldn’t have been so many coincidences.
Timothy touched his chin with a frown.
He doubted, “Is that so?
No other explanations?”
