Chapter 20
Evelyn crooked her little finger at Amber, signaling her to come closer to the car window to speak to her.
“What?” Amber approached without any suspicion.
But what she received was a tap on her head instead. “Little girl, don’t be too nosy.”
“Evelyn.” Amber pouted, looking aggrieved.
It was a pity that Evelyn didn’t buy it and drove away directly.
What she didn’t expect was that when she arrived at the Jackson’s, she saw Eric pacing back and forth there. When he saw her car coming, he immediately went over.
“Where have you been? Why didn’t you answer the phone?” Eric looked at her worriedly. He examined her carefully to check if she was all right.
“Sorry, my phone is on silent, so I didn’t hear it. Did you call me?” Evelyn said as she took out her phone to check it.
Her beautiful eyebrows arched into a frown when she found there were more than a dozen missed calls on her phone. “Mom is looking for you,” Eric said while observing her reaction.
“So what?” Evelyn looked calm.
Judging from her reaction, it seemed that she didn’t take it seriously at all.
Eric smiled. “I told her you were asleep.”
“This is not a good excuse.” After Evelyn finished speaking, she looked up at the mansion.
“Da mn, do I have to climb up into my room?” she thought.
“Yes, so I came here to tell you in advance that you have to get in the same way that you got out of the house.” A light flashed in Eric’s eyes.
He wondered how she had made it to get out of the house.
“Fine! If I fell and died, don’t feel too sad. Go and find a younger and more beautiful wife.” After finishing her words, she flipped her hair and set her eyes on the junction between two terraces on the east. Before Eric realized it, she had already climbed up the wall. She was as swift and agile as a monkey.
From beginning to end, Eric’s eyes had never blinked. He watched her reach the third floor, stand by the window of their bedroom, and wave at him.
Sure enough, this woman was something.
She lived up to the name of a sn iper who could kill gangsters with a single bullet.
Eric decided that he had to be more cautious in the future, otherwise, if he offended her, she would most likely throw him out of the house.
Then he entered the house leisurely, only to bump into Earl.
“Were you out just now?” Earl frowned as he glanced at Eric.
Earl looked somewhat indifferent, nothing like a loving elder brother.
Eric shook his head. “No, I just had a walk in the garden.”
“It’s so rare. A man who went to parties every night suddenly began to behave himself. Sure enough, marriage can change a
man.” Earl’s tone was somewhat ironic.
Eric, who didn’t want to have a conflict with him, deliberately ignored his words and changed the subject. “Are you going
out?”
“Yes, I’m meeting someone,” Earl said as he walked past Eric. He suddenly stopped after taking a few steps. “By the way, tomorrow I will take my girlfriend home. I hope you guys can be present tomorrow to meet her.”
“Tomorrow?” Eric seemed to be in a dilemma.
He was not prepared to meet with Vivian again.
“By the way, please tell Evelyn about this!” After Earl finished speaking, he quickly walked towards the garage.
Eric stood where he was, lost in thought.
After he came back to his senses, several minutes had passed.
Entering the room, he did not see Evelyn. The bathroom door was locked, and it seemed that she was taking a shower.

Now that she was back, he was finally at peace. He took out his phone, clicked on the screen, and quickly replied to several messages.
In the Jackson’s, he did not have his own study room.
He was supposed to be a failure, so he should at least look like one.
That was why he had to deal with his affairs in the bedroom. After he got married, it was not so convenient though.
He glanced at the bathroom, then dialed a group of numbers on his phone.
“Hello, Mr. Jackson.” A voice soon came through from the other end of the line.
“Kenyon, do you know where Ms. Evelyn has been to just now?” Eric asked not because he wanted to investigate her. He just didn’t want to be put into a very embarrassing situation again.
“You didn’t instruct me to follow her, so I dare not track her,” Kenyon answered honestly.
Eric frowned, and then said, “Then do it from now on.”
“What if I am discovered? Can I tell her it’s you who ask me to do this?” Kenyon consulted.
“If that happens, you will come to see me with a letter of resignation.” After Eric finished speaking, he hung up the phone directly.
Kenyon, who was on the other end of the line was so angry that he threw the phone straight away.
However, he just threw it on the sofa.
“What are you doing? Have you been scolded by Mr. Jackson?” Linch asked in a gloating voice.
“Shut up.” Kenyon glared at him, then frowned. “Where is Harry?”
“He’s fighting a fierce battle,” Linch replied, pointing upstairs.
“He’s playing games again.” Kenyon walked over and picked up the phone.
He was reluctant to do it, but he was afraid that he would miss the call from Eric.
“I heard that Ms. Evelyn is very sassy, isn’t it?” Linch gossiped.
Kenyon rolled his eyes at him. “How do I know?”
“Only you have seen her. How could you not know what she is like?” Linch was not convinced.
In fact, if one looked closely, she or he would find that Kenyon and Linch looked exactly the same.
After all, they were twin brothers. They were supposed to share similar features.
“Mr. Jackson shares a bed with her. Why don’t you ask him?” Kenyon snapped.
After finishing his words, he walked quickly upstairs.
Linch shrugged. “Why would I ask Mr. Jackson? I don’t want to seek death,” he thought.
Evelyn came out of the bath. She frowned when she saw Eric sitting there playing with his mobile phone.
She knew he must be playing games.
That was fine with her. She just sat in front of the dressing table and started her skincare procedure.
She was a tough woman, but her skin was preserved very well. Though she did not have very white skin, she looked healthy. After all, when in the army, she had to train under the sun every day.
She was born with fair skin, and after a period of time avoiding the sun, her skin would resume to the original color.
The part of her body covered by her clothes showed her original skin color.
Through the mirror, she secretly observed the man sitting by the window, thinking whether or not to discuss with him how they should spend the night in the same room tonight.
“Do
you have something to say?” Perhaps it was because her gaze was too intense that the man who had bowed his head suddenly looked up at her.
“Tonight we…”
“Do you mean to say we’ll sleep in separate beds tonight?” Eric put away the phone, looking at her in the mirror. Evelyn shook her head. “No. I was just thinking if you can give me more time.”

“Okay, I approve,” Eric agreed without thinking.
“Thank you!” Evelyn was relieved.
Eric did not say anything more. He just stood up and approached her step by step.
Seeing his figure looming over her, Evelyn, who had always been calm and shrewd, felt a little flustered in her heart.
The man put his hands on the dressing table, surrounded her in his arms, looked at her face in the mirror, and slowly opened his lips.
