Chapter 15
Evelyn frowned slightly but nodded. “I’ll try to do what you say.”
Since she was new here, Evelyn didn’t want to get
in any
trouble.
So, she tried to be nice to everyone.
“Our family enjoys a high reputation in Lavine City so please always keep good manners no matter where you go.” Freda continued to speak with an extremely serious expression.
Evelyn nodded again. Even though she became somewhat impatient with Freda, she still put on a nice smile.
“By the way, our family doesn’t have any obligation to support anyone from your family financially. If that’s what you want, don’t even think about it.” Freda flicked her chin and stared at Evelyn with a great sense of superiority.
Evelyn frowned with dissatisfaction. “Mrs. Jackson, don’t worry. That will never happen.”
The reason why she did not directly call Freda mom was that she was not sure if she should call her mom.
“Evelyn, I think you should call mom.” Monica was glad to find a chance to show off her status as a sister-in-law in this family.
Evelyn cast a sidelong glance at Eric and immediately apologized after seeing him nod slightly.
“Sorry, I’m not quite used to it yet. I’ll do it next time.”
“You still have a lot to learn.” Freda pressed on.
“Well, that’s enough. Evelyn just got here and don’t be so hard on her.” Karlo said while signaling the serv ants to leave.
“Look how you spoiled Eric. Now he is disgracing our family name,” Freda said relentlessly.
“Mom, it’s the first time that Eric brought Evelyn home. Please don’t make everyone feel uncomfortable,” Evan said, holding Freda’s hand and taking her away.
It seemed like Evan put a good word for Evelyn. But actually, that was not really what he thought.
He totally agreed with what Freda said. In his eyes, Evelyn was not good enough for Eric so Freda’s attitude was
understandable. It was just not a good time to speak out.
“Eric, go upstairs with Evelyn!” Karlo said with a slight sigh.
Since Karlo did something wrong when he was young, which really hurt this family, no one was willing to listen to him
anymore.
“Okay.” Eric held Evelyn’s hand and directly went upstairs.
They directly passed the people who were in the living room and ignored them.
Later on, the serv ants sent the luggage to their room as directed.
“Eric, why were you so quiet just now? Why not help me?” The moment that they got into the room, Evelyn pulled his collar and began to complain.
Eric smiled. “If I spoke for you then, they would give you a hard time. You don’t deserve to get hurt like that.”
In other words, he was trying to protect her.
Evelyn tilted her head. “All right. Thank you though.”
“We may need to thank Ms. Evelyn for letting us go.” Eric joked.
“Whatever.” Evelyn began to look around his room.
The room looked very fancy.
Just knowing that she would live here, Evelyn started to feel a little bit anxious because the relationship here was much more complicated than she had thought.
People in this family were so hard to deal with.
So was Eric. At the thought of this, she couldn’t help but kick Eric’s leg mischievously.
“Ouch! That hurts.” Eric involuntarily jumped away with pain.
“Sorry, I don’t know what I’m doing now.” Evelyn bowed her head.
She still couldn’t believe that she married with whom she didn’t know that much about.
Moreover, the man she married was the most unpleasant rich second generation in Lavine City.

Chapter 15
“Are you okay?” Eric sat on the floor, massaging his leg.
Evelyn shook his head. “I just worry that I will get you in trouble if I do something wrong.”
“No worries. You always have me. We will be fine.” Eric stood up and put his hands on her shoulders.
At that moment, Evelyn was touched by Eric’s sincerity.
“No matter what happens, are you sure you will always be on my side?” Evelyn asked restlessly.
“Do whatever you want to do as long as you don’t get yourself hurt.” Eric had no idea what he said meant to Evelyn.
Evelyn pushed him away. “We will see. I think I can handle it.”
“Good. You should never count on others.” Eric went back to his regular shi tty self.
It feels that this was the real Eric, weak and incompetent.
Evelyn stared at him with disappointment and then shook her head. “Forget about it. Can I use the walk-in closet?”
Evelyn started to unpack.
“Of course, feel free to use anything in this room, including me,” Eric said flirtatiously.
Evelyn pretended to punch him. “Watch out for what you say!”
“Okay, I’ll be quiet.” Eric made a funny mouth-closing movement.
“Please help me bring the luggage in.” Evelyn pointed to the luggage at the door.
“Yes, madam,” Eric said happily.
Evelyn shook her head with affection. “So silly.”
“Honey, please speak a little bit louder. I didn’t hear what you said.” Eric came in with two large boxes, looking innocent.
“Never mind.” Evelyn was not sure if Eric said that on purpose. But anyway, she just directly walked into his walk-in closet.
Evelyn was stunned when she saw all those stuff in Eric’s walk-in closet.
She never saw a man like him who had that many clothes and accessories.
“Oh my goodness. It’s like a shopping mall.” Evelyn’s gaze drifted around the walk-in closet, from watches to belts, accessories, shirts, and pants, and all kinds of seasonal clothing. All of them were well organized in each compartment.
“This is not all,” Eric said blandly and never realized that he led a life of considerable luxury.
Evelyn pouted. “What a peacock.”
“Why do you say that?” Eric felt a little bit confused.
