Chapter 11
Evelyn nodded. “I’m unwilling to fool you. I’ll try hard and forget that.”
She meant it seriously and kept it in her mind when she was dumped. She hated to torture herself with hesitation and would not throw away her pride to beg for love.
“It’s okay. We adults all have our stories.” Eric shrugged, indicating that he did not care.
Yet none could tell how much he meant it.
“It seems easy to get along with you.” Evelyn put on a rare smile.
“Really? They say that I’m an idiot and learn nothing.” Eric lowered his head before saying this, looking miserable.
Evelyn frowned. “You care about comments about you from others?”
“Don’t you care about it?” Eric raised his head and stared at her.
“No. I live for myself, not for others. Their opinions don’t count a cent to me.” Evelyn was free and honest.
She was that kind of person.
When she was in the troop, she was called a “demon” or “tomboy”. But she never cared about that. After returning with a cold smile, she practiced even harder to improve herself.
“You have a good men tality.” Eric was interested in her now.
“We should be confident about ourselves as depression won’t help at all.” With that, Evelyn stood up and looked outside through the window, bearing something in her mind.
Eric followed her and stood by her side.
He was a man of 6 feet 4 inches and was much taller than her.
Evelyn was 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 5 inches tall.
“Did you say that to inspire me?” Eric lowered his head to look at her.
“No, to myself. Now tell me about your family. Who I should be alert of?” Evelyn would never escape from troubles. Since she had got married, she should face it directly.
“Everyone besides my father and my little sister.” Eric suddenly felt guilty for her as he was pulling her into trouble.

Evelyn nodded. “Okay, I know.”
She could handle the usual disputes.
“I’m unable to help you. Can you deal with it?” Eric stated his position.
“Of course. Don’t worry. I can protect myself.” Instead of being scared, Evelyn got a bit excited.
She was ready to face the challenge.
Eric nodded. “Good. Get yourself prepared. I’ll pick you up two days later.”
“No need. I can go with you now.” Evelyn was direct.
It would be better for them to be proactive.
“It’s too late. You deserve an introduction at day.” Eric refused, thinking he should give her what she deserved although he was a nobody in the Jackson family.
“Don’t you think we’ll face less trouble by doing this?” The Jacksons would be panic to see Evelyn in the house.
Eric was surprised. “Aren’t you curious about my bad relationship with the family?”
“I heard some news about that. You’re an illegitimate son, right?” She stared at him, not knowing if her answer would hurt him.
“How did you know that?” Eric was shocked.
Only the Jacksons and his best friends knew it in Lavine City.
Evelyn shrugged. “Sorry. I have my way. So we’re done with each other.”
But she did not know if he was kidnapped because of that.
“May I know your occupation?” Eric suddenly wanted to know it.
Evelyn showed her hands. “See? I sell my strength.”
“Can you be specific?” he asked, thinking there were a lot of possibilities for that.
“You’ll know it in the future.” Evelyn put on a mysterious smile and did not tell the truth.
In her mind, he would know it at a proper time.
Eric nodded and asked, “Do you have any questions for me?”
“No. I’d like to find out who you are by myself.” Evelyn looked excited as if she was prepared for war.

“Okay. But I’ll leave without you tonight and will pick you up tomorrow.” Eric still refused to take her back now.
Evelyn nodded willingly. “Okay. But you may not find me here. Call me in advance when you come to me.”
“Will you get through my call?” Eric was hesitated thinking that he had not succeeded in calling her today.
“It depends.” Evelyn did not give an exact answer.
“Okay. Perhaps I should wait and see. Don’t drink too much wine. I’m leaving now.” Eric held out his hand and touched her head.
Evelyn tightened her body because of his deeds.
She wondered if it was what a pair should do to each other.
But Caden had never done such things to her.
She doubted if it was because Eric was good at provoking women.
Bearing that in mind, she pushed him suddenly. “That’s none of your business. Just leave.”
Eric was surprised by her reaction and almost fell to the ground if he had not controlled his body.
“Don’t push me. I’ll leave right now. You’re so mean.” Eric pursed his mouth, looking sad.
