Gary arrived home an hour before the banquet started. He went upstairs and met with Larissa. The guests arrived at around 6 pm Larissa put on her evening gown and waited with Lewis at the top of the stairs on the second floor. Larissa was in awe. She had thought that the Seymour family’s villa she lived in for ten years was already luxurious. Alus, it paled in comparison to the vilas here. The villa itself was built in a classic Caldurian style. Stepping inside. Larissa felt like she was transported back in time, which lelt strange. There were two floors to the main building. The first floor was the living room, while Gary’s bedroom and the study were on the second floor. Lewis led Larissa lurther inside. The household stall had received news of Larissa’s arrival. They came forward with smiks on their faces and greeted her politely. “Ms. Larissa, nice to meet you!” From childhood, Larissa had only enjoyed such enthusiastic treatment at her ollice. Wendy quickly took over the chores and pushed Larissa Into her bedroom. “Take a shower and rest early. You need to have a good night’s sleep to dazzle everyone at the banquet tomorrow!” After taking a shower, Larissa lay down on the bed, but she couldn’t sleep. She deduced that this man was definitely not an ordinary person. Therefore, his presence here seemed even more peculiar. The man carefully rinsed the soap off his fingers and straightened up. Through the mimor, he noticed Wendy’s looks of curiosity. When their eyes met. Wendy was startled and quickly averted her gaze. Feeling guilty at being caught staring, she approached the sink slowly. Wendy composed herself and put her hands under the tap. The cold water flowed over her hands, but it couldn’t cool down her cheeks. They were burning from embarrassment. From the comer of her eye, she saw the man taking a tissue. He didn’t seem to have any intention of leaving. Wendy sped up. She turned off the tap and didn’t waste any time drying her hands. Instead, she shook her hands dry and turned to leave. Before Wendy could take a step forward, she heard a chuckle. A voice laced with amusement came from behind her. “Genius? Goddess?” Wendy felt as if she had been struck by lightning. Her mind went blank. Her body froze. Blood rushed into her head. Her face turned as red as a tomato. She was burning with embarrassment. Wendy couldn’t bear to stay a moment longer. She turned and ran without another look behind her shoulder. Wendy returned to her seat, panting. She gestured to the waiter and asked for a glass of cold water.
