Chapter 759  When Allen locked eyes with Kevan, he could not help but shudder. After standing in place for half a minute, Allen finally walked over to Larissa. Freddy was a bit timid. He kept hiding behind Allen. No one knew if it was because of the unhappy incident with Aster before or because of something else. “What a coincidence, you’re here to watch movies too? Afraid that Freddy and Allen thought that she was still holding a grudge, Larissa took the initiative to talk to them. “Freddy’s class is going to have a stage play. It will be based on this movie, so I canceled his piano class tonight.” Allen was talking to Larissa, but he kept glancing at Kevan. Finally, he could not help but ask. “This is?” Larissa knew that he would ask, but she had not yet prepared the answer to this question. However, before she could speak, Aster could not help but quickly announce. “This is my daddy!” His smug tone was obvious. Kevan smiled warmly and held Aster tighter in his arm. Although Allen had heard Freddy mention “Aster’s daddy” when he went to pick him up from school, he still had a bit of doubt. After all he had worked with Larissa together for so many years, and he had never seen any man appear with her intimately. However, that unfamiliar Caldorian man did not seem to be taking his intimacy with Aster. When Aster called him Daddy, their reactions were natural too. Allen blanked out for a few seconds before he thought he figured it out. “Your ex–husband?” he asked Larissa. She definitely had a previous marriage or relationship of some kind. Otherwise, she would not have given birth to Aster. If it was just an ex–husband. The alarm bells in Allen’s heart began to quiet down. This time, Larissa’s right to answer was still taken away from her. A strong and firm arm wrapped around her shoulder. Kevan trapped Larissa in his arms like he was claiming her. There was a faint smile on his lips. His voice was deep but clear. “I am her husband. Current husband.”  Allen’s eyes widened in shock. “Wh–what?” He hurriedly confirmed with Larissa. Is it true?” Larissa, of course, could not refute Kevan in public like this. Besides, this was a good chance to get Allen to give up for good. “It’s true.” Larissa adjusted her seating position and leaned a little into Kevan so that they looked closer. “He is my husband.” Allen refused to belleve it. “Then why have I never heard you mention him before?” Larissa did not like talking about her private matters with others. If it were not for the fact that her roommate could not take care of Aster because of working overtime, no one in the company would have known of Aster’s existence as Larissa would not have needed to take Aster to her office. Although Allen was her superior, he had Freddy, a child who was close to Aster in age. So he had more non–work related things to chat with Larissa about. That was why he knew a little more about her. She never mentioned Aster’s father, so Allen thought that she was no longer in contact with whoever the person was. But she dropped a massive bomb in front of him today, it was so shocking that he was unable to recollect himself for a while. “Because it was not necessary to mention it,” Larissa replied calmly. “He was unrelated to my job, so I do not have to report him to my superior.” Then — Why did – did he never show up for so many years?” Allen asked again. “His company is in Caldor, so he was unable to leave so easily.” Larissa said. “Our plan was for me to bring Aster over here to get a green card, then wait for the heart of his business to move here. Only then would we immigrate together, Actually, it’s not that he never showed up. He did, but I didn’t need to tell you.” Allen was completely struck speechless. Chapter 758  Aster and Freddy were in the same kindergarten. Because they were half a year apart, they studied in different class groups. Aster’s little act of revenge was definitely childish, and should not be encouraged. But she could totally understand his extreme sensitivity. Besides, it was not like Aster’s goal was to hurt anyone. So, she rubbed his head and smiled resignedly as she asked. “Are you happy now?” Aster nodded hard. “Yep! Freddy won’t ever say that I don’t have a daddy anymore!” Larissa’s heart ached immediately. “Yeah!” She pressed her lips tightly together and forced back the tears that she could feel were coming. Kevan had missed their conversation, When he got into the car, the strange atmosphere made him keep quiet. Aster sat back in his seat properly and put on his seat belt. “Daddy, are we going home now?” he asked. Kevan hummed lowly in confirmation as he started the car. “Aww—“Aster was clearly disappointed. “What’s wrong?” Kevan’s voice was softer when he saw Aster’s sad face. “I wanna watch a movie at the cinema.” Aster carefully said what he wanted. Kevan did not agree at once. He used his eyes to seek Larissa’s thoughts on the matter. “Sure.” Larissa naturally did not say no. “Yay!” Aster was so happy he started dancing in his seat. There were not many people at the cinema on a weekday night. Aster chose a Disnie movie that was quite popular as it was being screened all over the world now. According to him, everyone else but him had watched the movie in class. Whenever his classmates talked about the movie, Aster could only listen nearby, and he could not join in the conversation. Larissa kissed Aster’s cheek with guilt. She had promised to make things up to her kid. But she still ignored him as usual in the end. Aster did not show any sadness though. He was still happy that he was no longer going to “not fit in anymore. Kevan came back with the movie tickets, and he had three cups of carbonated drinks and a large bucket of popcorn with him, The popcom bucket was shaped like the cartoon characters in the movie. Aster hugged it because he loved it so much. He could not even bear to eat the popcorn inside. It was not yet time to enter the theater yet, so the three of them sat in the hall. Aster and Kevan talked about their favorite characters while Larissa listened quietly. The atmosphere was harmonious until it was broken by someone- “Larissa?” A surprised male voice sounded not far away. Hearing that. Larissa looked up to see Allen holding Freddy’s hand. They were not looking at her though–they were looking at Kevan next to her. She pulled up a smile on her face as she greeted them normally. “Hi, Allen. Hi, Freddy.” Hearing these two names, Kevan blinked and looked toward the two.

Chapter 757 But there were definitely those who came over to “kiss up to Larissa too, like the busty blonde with blue eyes Larissa met in the elevator that morning. She naturally hooked herself onto Larissa’s other arm and introduced herself before Larissa could react. “Hi, Larissa, darling. Im Judy Turner,” Her perfume smelled worse than the medicine Larissa used. Larissa sneezed because of that. Judy swiftly let go and stepped aside, afraid that Larissa’s snot would hit her. Judy let out a light tsk as she took out a tissue. She carefully wiped the hand that touched Larissa before along with the bag that hung on that same arm. Seeing the way Larissa and Marilyn were staring at her with a complicated look in their eyes. Judy smiled falsely at Larissa and apologized. “Sorry, honey, I’m a bit of a clean freak.” Larissa could understand. After all she would soon be together with the world’s biggest clean freak. “It’s alright.” She smiled with a look on her face that screamed “I don’t mind.” Judy did not touch Larissa again, but she still walked by Larissa’s side. “Larissa, are you super lamiliar with Mr. Logan Junior?” Judy pretended to ask casually. Marilyn gave her a cold stare as a warning. Judy ignored it. Marilyn looked away and ignored her. Larissa, on the other hand, was awkward. She had already taken great care to maintain a distance from Lewis, but who knew that someone would still notice something wrong? “No? Larissa pretended to be dumb. “I met him for the first time today.” Marilyn pretended to be dumb too, and she did not make any comment on this.  Judy clearly did not believe Larissa’s le, but she did not expose her at once. She continued to ask, “Did Mr. Logan Junior hire you in person? Larissa nodded. “Yeah.” “W. Logan Junior has never hired a female assistant. You’re the first!” The Jealousy in Judy’s voice was obvious. Even if Larissa was slow, she could tell by this point. “I’m Mr. Logan Senior’s assistant, not Mr. Logan Juniors.” Larissa corrected Judy. Besides, I’m sure Mr. Logan Junior hired me because of my capabilities, and not because of whatever it is that you’re thinking of.” The second hall of her words were spoken with a bit of guilt, but Larissa forced hersell to keep a straight lace and act confident. Thankfully, this pretense was well–maintained. Judy was struck speechless by Larissa, and she left quietly by hersell. Kevan’s car was parked at the same place he did this morning. Marilyn helped Larissa to the roadside, and her expression changed when she saw the car brand. “Sorry to trouble you so much today, Marilyn.” Larissa was very grateful to her as she waved Marilyn goodbye. “See you tomorrow!” Marilyn quickly said, ‘See you tomorrow! When they were speaking, Kevan had gotten out of the car. He went to the backseat door and opened it for Larissa. Marilyn was stunned when she saw him, and she sighed. “Larissa, your driver is so handsome!” 1/2 Kevan expressionlessly said. “Ma’am, please get in the car.” Larissa’s spire chilled for no reason. She did not dare delay anymore and swiftly entered the car. “Mommy!” Aster’s delighted voice came from the front. Chapter 756 Marilyn went to the cafeteria to get two lunches. When she was waiting for the elevator, she happened to meet people from the presidential office. There were some who she was friendlier with. They deliberately leaned in and asked her, “Marilyn, do you know the background of that new assistant?” Marilyn’s predecessor. Gary’s previous secretary, was fired because she leaked his private Information by accident. She was unable to find a job in Westonia because Gary purposely made sure that she would not be able to. Having no other choice, she went back to her hometown. Leaming this lesson, Marilyn always kept her mouth shut whenever it came to Gary or Lewis‘ private lives. “No idea.” she said. Someone noticed that she was carrying two trays. “Who are you bringing lunch to? Because Mr. Logan Senior and Junior’s lunches were arranged to come from high–end restaurants, they naturally thought that it was for that new assistant.” The elevator happened to arrive then. Marlyn entered first, ignoring all of their questions. The others followed quickly, surrounding Marilyn while they chattered away. “Did she ask you to help her? Or was it Mr. Logan Junior’s instructions?” “Is she serious? Acting like a diva on the first day of work! Marilyn’s Mr. Logan Senior’s secretary, not hers! Why should Marlyn serve her?” “I told you that she’s not a normal person! What kind of man is Mr. Logan Junior? Ive never seen him bring in anyone new alter joining the company! That assistant definitely has something going on with him!” “That assistant’s kinda old, right? She wears such ugly clothes too! What does Mr. Logar Junior see in her?” “Who knows? Maybe Mr. Logan Junior’s tastes are not the same as normal men’s All kinds of sour, cruel words exploded out of the mouths of all these well–dressed women. Marilyn did her best to ignore those comments. Before she exited the elevator, she warned them in a low voice. “If you don’t want to lose your jobs, don’t say such things ever again.” The crowd loooed at each other. The following altemoon was calm and peaceful. Larissa had no other work. She remained seated at her workplace, seriously reading the documents from Lewis. In the middle of it all, Gary and Lewis entered and exited their offices several times. When they passed by her workplace, they did not stop at all. Blue Star Shipping did not seem to have a work overtime culture. The moment it was time to get off work, everyone stopped what they were doing and began to pack up. Larissa was unused to such an environment, but she was satisfied too. This seemed to be the first time she had worked during normal hours after graduating from university. Lewis sent her a text, telling her to wall for him. “I’ll send you home later.” At the same time, she received a text from Kevan telling her that he was waiting downstairs. Chapter 755 Lems helped Larissa out of his office, then he put the documents nicely on her desk “Marilyn.” He turned to call her. “Do you have extra pens and notebooks? Let Larissa have some.” Marilyn took out the things he wanted from her drawer before she delivered the things to Larissa’s desk. “Just stick with these for now. If you don’t like them, I’ll ask for more from the admir strative department.” “I like them, thanks,” Larissa accepted the pens and notebooks. Lewis rapped or Larissa’s desk and instructed her. “Il you don’t know anything, just go to my office and ask me.” He spoke in Caldorian with her. Marilyn did not understand, so she just stared at them curiously with her large green eyes. Sensing Marilyn’s gaze. Lewis asked. “Is there a problem?” Marilyn shock her head quickly. “No! Not at all” She quickly returned to her workplace. Larissa read the documents Lewis gave her seriously. She scanned them all. They were recent reports and statements from each department. She did similar work at Bartham’s Winston Hotel so she got used to the job pretty last. Twenty minutes later, the doors of the president’s office and the executive assistant’s office opened. Gary and Lewis appeared from their respective cffices. Larissa and Marilyn stood up at the same time like they were startled. Gary’s gaze larded on Larissa first. His face was beginning to soften when Larissa gave him a waming look. He immediately looked away and pulled his stem lace back. “Let’s go for the meeting.” he said. Larissa and Marlyn walked behind them side by side. Gary and Lewis walked rather slowly today. Marlyn was confused at first until she noticed the unnatural way in which Larissa walked. Then, she understood. The meeting lasted the whole morning. Larissa’s notes took up several pages. It was more than what Marilyn noted down for the meeting records. Seeing how Gary worked in person, Larissa only knew that managing a large corporation was harder than managing a hotel, When the meeting ended, it was already break time in the afternoon. Gary and Lewis‘ lunches were delivered to their offices every day. Today was no exception Marilyn carefully asked Lewis, “Mr. Logan Junior, should someone deliver Larissa’s lunch up here too?” Lewis had not yet spoken when Larissa quickly answered, “No, not I can go eat in the caleteria mysel!!” Lewis gave her a look and asked, “Do you know where the caleteria is?” Larissa hugged Marilyn’s arm as she tried to get close to the woman. “You’re going to the cafeteria, right? I go with you!” “Üm “Marilyn looked at her, then at Lewis, before an idea hit her. It was the perfect idea. “How about this–what would you like to eat? IL bring it up for you.” Seeing that Larissa was about to refuse, Marily told her. “I noticed that your leg seems to be injured, and it’s difficult for you to walk. There. are a lot of people in the cafeteria, it won’t be good il someone makes your injury worse! Don’t go downstairs before you recover fully.” Lewis answered for Larissa. “Sorry for the trouble, then.”

Chapter 754 Larissa’s colleagues had different expressions on their laces. Their attitudes to her were different too. The male colleagues were quite friendly. Some smiled at her, same nodded, and some waved too. Although the female colleagues were smiling, their smiles did not reach their eyes. Larissa could even see some obvious hatred on their laces. Larissa processed this title. “Mr. Logan Senior” must be referring to Gary. So, she shock her head and pointed next door. “I’m looking for Mr. Logan Junior.” The secretary rodded before asking. “Do you need me to make a call for you?” Larissa shook her head again. “No need, I’ve already made an appointment with him.” “Alright.” The secretary smiled. “If you need anything, you can find me any time. I’m Marilyn White.” “Okay, thanks. Marilyn,” Larissa also thanked the male employee who brought her over before she knocked on Lewis‘ office door and entered. The door had just closed when the male employee leaned over to Marilyn’s desk to ask, “You know this newbie?” As Gary’s secretary, Marilyn was always a cold person. She frequently ignored many old employees, much less the new ones. Regaining her usual cold face, Marilyn returned to her seat and did not even look up. “None of your business.” The male employee left timidly.  Lewis stopped working the moment he saw Larissa enter his office. He took two to three steps forward to support her, complaining as he did. “Didn’t I tell you to call me so that I can go down and bring you up?” Larissa was forced to sit on the couch in his ollice, and she felt resigned at his overreaction. “It’s not like I can’t walk Besides, I don’t want your special care. Otherwise, our colleagues will think too much into it” She decided not to expose her identity until the day she officially took over the company. Otherwise, she would not be only shaming herself when she messed up somehow. She would shame Gary 100. Lewis understood Larissa’s concerns. He pressed his lips lightly together and decided not to say anything else. He looked down at her ankle which was covered by her trousers. “Is it better?” he asked. Larissa lifted her trouser leg and showed him. “It’s much heller. Kevan massaged the swelling for me again this morning for ten minutes.” Lewis‘ expression became complicated. “He slept at your place last night?” “Yes.” Sensing Lewis’shift in emotions, Larissa quickly added, “He slept with Aster in analher room, don’t overthink ill” Lewis locked down and skloped this topic. “Come by later during break time in the alternoon. I’ll massage it for you again.” Larissa said, “Ckay,” before asking, “What’s my job scope? She desperately wanted to know. “In half an hour, Mr. Logan will have a weekly meeting with all the department heads. You must note down everything and understand the true state of the company. Alter that, there are these Lewis picked up a heavy stack of documents from his table. 1/2 “Okay.” Larissa quickly entered her work mode. She got up to accept the documents, but Lewis avoided her. “Il help you to bring them to your workplace.” Larissa only remembered to ask, “Where’s my workplace?” Larissa’s position was “assistant to the president.” so she had a way lower rank than Lewis. That naturally meant that she did not have her own office. Her workplace was at a table outside Lewis‘ office. It was just across from Marilyn’s. There was a path separating them.

Chapter 753  Kevan quickly got out of the car to open the door for Larissa. He also made sure to give her his arm. Using his arm, Larissa stepped steadily on the floor.. She had made a rare change to her usual working heels–they were her “combat heels“-as both Kevan and Asterhad forced her to wear a pair of warm Ugg loafers instead. Thank goodness the trousers she had chosen were lorg enough. It was just enough to hide the loafers that clashed with her overall style. Kevan stood in front of her. He bent down and helped her zip up her knee–length down un jacket until her neck was covered up. “It’s cold out.” he said. When he saw her annoyed frown, he soothed her like a child. “Be good.” Larissa immediately looked away, her face red. She did not dare to look at him. After a night of rest combined with the application of medicine from Kevan as well as a massage, the swelling at Larissa’s ankle had shrunk, Still she could not use too much force when walking. She did not let Kevan send her up, but she hobbled into the building hersell, which attracted the attention of many people. Lewis had already prepared her name tag and given it to her. She successfully passed through the many gates downstairs with it. Because it was past working peak hours, there were not many people lining up at the elevator. Larissa was too lazy to call Lewis to make him come down and get her because of that. She thought it was a waste of his time.  The space of the elevator car was narrow, and the air was not circulating. The medicine smell from Larissa made her new colleagues standing near her cover their noses. They also gave her a lot of stares of scom. The inside of the elevator was all golden metal mirrors, so Larissa was able to see a.. the open and secret stares people were giving her. She looked down and said nothing. She acted like she did not sense anything and just stared at her feet blankly, After several stops, Larissa and another person were the only ones left in the elevator. That was a blonde, busty, beautiful woman, who wore the latest Chanel suit. She also had a lamoskin bag with her. They shared the same destination: the presidential office, which was located on the topmost floor. The moment the elevator doors opened, the woman behind Larissa quickly exited the elevator before Larissa hersell could. As the woman passed her by, Larissa could kind of hear a light snicker. Looking at her own outfit, Larissa was super annoyed. Ever since Larissa entered the building, no one was dressed the way she was. No one wore a thick down jacket. It was like they could not feel the cold outside, and they wore thin suits–some lemale employees even wore short skirts without pantyhoses. They only covered themselves with a thin coat. When standing among them, Larissa stood out a lot. If she had known about this earlier, Larissa would have preferred to freeze to death even if it meant that those two males at home would nag her to hell for not wearing the jacket. Larissa took off the down jacket and held it in her arm. She calmed her breathing before stepping into the presidential office. She simply found a male colleague and asked with a polite smile. “May I know where Mr. Lewis‘ ollice is?”  “Why are you looking for Mr. Lewis? The man was very alert upon seeing her unfamiliar face. “Did you make an appointment? Mr. Lewis is very busy with work. He will not meet anyone if there is no appointment.” Larissa showed him her name tag. “Im the new assistant for the president.” She saki, “Mr. Lewis is my direct supervisor. I’m looking for him to report for work.” “Oh, so it’s you!” The man suddenly realized it, and his attitude became friendlier. “Mr. Lewis did tell us two days ago that there will be a new colleague coming today.” He stood up and led Larissa Inside. “He should be in his office right now. I’ll take you to him.” As it was during working hours, most people were seated at their workplaces. But Larissa and the guy–mainly Larissa–were walking by rather noticeably, so people kept looking up at thern. 1/2 questioningly.  Larissa hurriedly said, “I’m Larissa. Pleased to meet you all.”

Chapter 752After Kevan sent Aster to school he came back to the car. When he got in, his gaze drilled to Larissa, who was sitting in the backseat. She was staring blankly out the window while leaning against the door. He did not know what she was thinking about.She seemed to be like this all

Chapter 751Larissa pressed a kiss to Aster’s forehead before rubbing his cheek. Chapter 750 As Aster was there, Larissa did not let Kevan carry her. She held his arm and hopped forward that way. Aster quickly ran over to her other side and supported her. He kept nagging her all the way from the entrance hall to the bedroom. “Mommy, stop wearing heels! “You’re an adult now, why are you so careless when walking?  “How am I supposed to be okay with you going to work alone like that? Aster straight up copied the way Larissa scolded him and scolded his own mother the same way. Larissa just sat on the bed when Aster kicked off his slippers and wiggled into the sheets next to her. “You promised me that I could sleep with you tonight” He was afraid that she would go back on her word, so he clutched at the sheets tightly and wrapped himself into a cocoon. Only his forehead and eyes were shown. Larissa gently poked at his forehead. “I know!” She smiled dotingly at him though she was helpless at his actions. “It’s not like I’ve chased you away yet. But- Glancing at Kevan who was standing nearby. Larissa purposely leased Aster. “Daddy will be staying here tonight” Don’t you want to sleep with him?” “Huh? Aster froze. A few seconds later, a dimicult expression appeared on his face. “I want to sleep with Daddy, but I also want to sleep with Mommy. His voice was so small and he kept looking at Larissa and Kevan like he was wondering who he should pick, Larissa patiently waited for Aster’s answer. Kevan did not say anything either, he watched Aster’s struggle with amused interest Suddenly. Aster seemed to have thought of a good idea as he smiled excitedly. There was a teasing look in his eye. “We can all sleep together! Then I can sleep with both Daddy and Mommy!” Larissa choked on her own spit and began coughing violently. She did not wait for herself to calm down before she shifted over quickly to cover Aster’s mouth. “You can’t say such things ever again? She scolded him seriously. “Boys and girls cannot randomly sleep together on a bed! Aster pulled at her hand, letting out muffled cries as his big eyes showed confusion. He finally managed to free himself as he protested her views. “But my classmates said that their Daddy and Mommy sleep together! Why are you two different?” This question really got Larissa. At this point, any answer she gave seemed to be wrong. Should she tell him that Kevan was not really his dad? But he really was. Should she tell him that she and Kevan were not married? But someone just recently tried to force her to marry him, so bringing this up would only trigger him at this point.
