Chapter 70  Back to Cass’s POV  “Every twenty minutes, the guard makes a round. That is our opening.” One of my  men tells me.  I nod as I stare at Oliver’s  pack house from a good distance. After taking over that god–awful town, we headed straight here. I want  to make Oliver pay for what  he did. I might not have that  mask on now, but I can still  feel it on me. I have the  ghost sensation that it is still  over my eyes and I hate it, not to mention the pain of it being drilled into my skull is still fresh in my memory.  My group is not big, so the element of surprise is a must. We need to get in there and take out as many  as we can before anyone  notices.  Leading a team is new to me  but I did not want to wait. To  go back to my pack, I would have had to come near Oliver anyway. But I decided  to do this because I knew for  sure that if I went back to the  pack first, Garret and Victor  would suggest waiting on attacking Oliver. They  always have a reason to  hesitate and I hate it.  “There. He’s moving.” Kanda  says.  I nod. “Now. Keep low and quiet. Take down anyone you come across–with the exception of children–and don’t let anyone ring any alarms.”  We rush in through the  shadows until we are behind  the pack house in a dark  corner.  “Split up. Four teams. Two  teams out here taking out guards one by one. Don’t kill them. They can be useful once Alpha Oliver is dealt with. The other two teams go inside doing the same until  we make it to Alpha Oliver.  Now HE…he is mine.”  They all nod.  My team and Kanda open a  window and go inside the  pack house. The room is dark and empty of people. It is late so I doubt any pack  members–who are not  guards–are awake.  We come across the first  guard. Kanda knocks him  out in a flash. He doesn’t  even make a thud as Kanda slowly puts him down. We carefully head through a hall and find another guard. Just like the other one, we take  him down and continue. I carefully open the doors trying to find the main office  where I assume Oliver could  office, then we’ll search for  his room.  We come to a door where I  can see light coming from  the bottom threshold of the  door and we can hear 

Chapter 69  -Colt’s POV-  “So they are ready for us?” I  ask.  Garret nods. “Yes. Our scouts  have been captured. Oliver  has the upper hand now.”  “Then what do we do?” I am  starting to feel helpless.  “We watch but prepare for an  attack.”  “So…we wait again.”  “It is all we can do.”  “Cass is out there and who  knows what they are doing  to her!”  Victor puts a hand on my shoulder. “I get it! I know!  But this is the situation right  now.”  “She is strong. She can hold  on.”  “I know she is but It doesn’t  matter. They can kill her at  any moment! And what is  even worse is that we don’t  know where she is!”  “My men say she has not  been seen in Oliver’s pack or  Ezra’s. We don’t know where  they have her.” Beck says.  That is what kills me the  most.  “Ezra’s men have been seen  moving too.” Rodrick speaks. “Something is up and we have to be careful especially now that all other packs are watching us after we took the river packs.”  Garret nods.“The Alphas of all other packs–excluding us, Ezra, and Oliver–had a  meeting a day ago. I am assuming it was about our  squabble but so far, they are  waiting however, they are on edge. Anything could tip them over and join the fight against us.” Garret ads.  Victor nods, looking pensive. “Send them a message. Tell  them that this fight is between us, Oliver, and  Ezra’s pack. If they don’t get  involved, then there will be  no issues with them.”  “We can do that but trust me,  they won’t believe it.”  “Try it.”  “So again, we just wait?” I ask,  my frustration peacking.  “I have a team that is going to try and get some more information. So yes. For 

Chapter 68  “Atack!” Chen points his  sword in our direction.  The men that remain with  them hesitate but not for  long. Soon they run in our  direction.  They clash with us and the rest of the prisoners who fight on our side. It feels like a dance for me, I dodge as I slash, taking two down. But the enemies keep coming.  Chen’s men and Ezras  combine. Together, they are  overwhelming.  We continue to fight and as I  take enemies down, it does  seem to get easier. The  fighting, the anticipating  their movements; the dodging, parrying, and countering it all gets easier.  “We are not going to make it!” Sheril shouts. “They are  too many!”  “Throw me!” Maribel says to  Kanda.  “What?”  “Just like you did Casseopea.  Throw me, I can take a few  out.”  “I know. Just get me as close  as you can.”  “Alright!” She doesn’t even  give me a moment to get ready. I feel her hands on  my back and then I am flying through the air.  I see Ezra and his image gets  closer but I know I won’t be  landing near him.  I close my eyes and connect  with my wolf.  “You want him dead just as much as I do. So go get him.”  I open my eyes as I am about to land. I shift and  immediately my wolf takes  control.  We fall on an enemy halfway towards Ezra, ripping his throat with our bare fangs.  We start running, trying to doge as many enemies and people who fight. My frustration peaks when it seems like we can’t get to  him fast enough.  When finally we have an opening, we zone in on him.  He is distracted looking in  Chen’s direction and doesn’t  see us coming. Excitement  rises in me, itching to have  his neck in my jaws. Just a  few feet away, I can almost  taste the victory.  “Over my dead body!” The 

Chapter 67  “Kanda…I can’t! You are my  friend!”  “Friend… Then take up arms,  friend. We don’t have a  choice.”  “Kanda…”  She swings her axe in the air  above her head before she  slices at me. I dodge it, it is not hard to dodge her  movements. Her body might be fast but that weapon is a heavy weapon. It slows her down just a bit.  As I dodge back the swing, I do not see one of her hands  letting the axe go. She grabs me by the throat and hits me with the axe’s hilt right on  the mouth.  She fights like a warrior.  She then throws me back,  picks up her axe with both hands and swings down at  arm. This makes her let the  axe go but she doesn’t move back, instead she sprints  forward and tackles me with  her shoulder. I fall to the  ground and lose my blades  but the moment she is on me, I get to my knees and use both my fists, punching  her in the stomach.  “Uh!” She takes a step back with a gasp.  I wrap my fingers around the blade that is next to me, then  I swing it. My blade plunges into her thigh. She screams  and falls to her knees.  Wasting no time, I got to my  feet. I swing around her, and put my arms around her  neck, ready to snap it. But I  hesitate. I don’t want to kill  her.  In a split second, she grabs  my shoulders and flings me to the ground in front of her.  She puts a hand on my chest, pushing me down. As she does this, my hands feel the ground looking for one of my daggers.  Suddenly, her other hand is  on my face, then, she wraps her fingers around my mask  and rips it off of my face.  I scream in pure agonizing  pain.  I know the crowd cheers but  all I can hear is a ringing in my ears. I feel disoriented. I am lifted and thrown a few  feet away.  I can feel warm liquid drip down the side of my face. I get to my knees and finally, I  am able to focus but I am  still in shock.  Kanda grabs her axe and faces me standing a few feet away from me.  “Kanda…” I whisper.  She stares at me–I can see the remorse in her eyes—she looks up behind me

Chapter 66  Is she…is she really saying what I think she is saying?  That can’t be…I think back  on the past month and realize…that my period has been late…how stupid can I  be?! How did I not realize?!  Oh my–no…this can’t be!  Kanda sees the panic on my  face.  “What is it?”  “I…no…I can’t…”  Not now. Not while I am in  here.  “Did you not suspect it at  all?” She asks.  “No! I…I’ve been so out of  touch with myself lately. I…I just can’t imagine it.”  Is this really…real?  I mean…how dumb am I? I  know how babies are made  so how stupid can I really  be?! How did I not think that  having constant s*x with  Colt would not result in this?  Not once did I give  protection a thought. I am  not sure he even thought  about it either. We both have  been in this blissful little  bubble. Like two idiots.  I am in deep shock. I am not sure I am ready for this, actually, I AM NOT ready for this, to have a…baby. I can’t even imagine myself right now going through that.  My thoughts are suddenly  consumed by Lauren and  how much she wanted to  have a child. How she didn’t  get to live her dream because of my own mate, or rather the man that was supposed  to be my mate.  But…what am I going to do? I am in this place…fighting. I  even have a fight tonight.  This can’t be good for…the baby.  It is so weird to think this. To  think that there is a tiny  thing growing inside of me.  It feels so…surreal.  I have to get out of here! Now more than ever, I need  to get out. But how?  I can’t keep waiting and hoping that Colt will come for me. What if they never do? What if they never find  out where I am? What if I die  in that damn arena before  they can find me?  No. I can’t just leave it to  someone else.
