Chapter 262  The man slowly lifted his eyes, looking towards the girl standing next to the old man  The girl was calm, standing quietly to the side, a stark contrast to the panic–stricken onlookers.  Even the man’s striking good looks didn’t seem to faze her  Truth be told, Ellinor had wanted to leave as soon as she saw the blind old man’s family rushing over. But she was surrounded by a group of men in black and couldn’t get  away  The gentleman gave Ellinor a courteous nod, “Hello”  Ellinor returned the nod, “Hello”  She was an average gal, so naturally, she thought the man in front of her was hot.  But something about him wasn’t quite right. He seemed friendly but not the type you’d want to get too close to.  He was completely different from Theo, who was not friendly at all. The man was gentle but aloof, a confusing mix that left her puzzled.  “Thank you,” the man said.  “You’re welcome.” Ellinor responded  Both Ellinor and the man kept their distance, not wanting to complicate things.  The old man was peeved his grandson wasn’t chatting up the girl. So, he took matters into his own hands, cheerfully asking:  “Little girl, what’s your name? Got a boyfriend? What do you think of my grandson here? He’s in his thirties and still hasn’t,  “Grandpa!” The man pinched the bridge of his nose, revealing a helpless smile to Ellinor, “I’m sorry, my grandpa is a bit loopy. Hope you don’t mind.”  “No worries.” Ellinor shrugged it off. But she wasn’t about to reveal her name, so she told the old man, “Since your family’s here to pick you up, I’ll get going. I have things to do”  After a polite goodbye, she turned and left. She asked the men in black to make way and confidently walked away  Hearing the girl’s footsteps fade, the blind old man felt a pang of regret and asked his grandson, “So, is the girl pretty?”  The man raised an eyebrow at the girl’s retreating figure, “Very pretty”  The blind old man grumbled, “She’s pretty and you didn’t even get her number? 1 even did the talking for you!”  “Grandpa, you don’t need to worry about my personal life.”  “You don’t want me to worry? Then get married! When I was thirty, your dad could do all the chores! Look at you…”  ‘Grandpa, you’re tired. I’ll have someone take you home.”  “I’m not tired! Who said I was tired?”  “Take my grandpa home”  “Yes, Mr. Howard!”  Not long after Ellinor left, the man in black who had been leading the group caught up with her.  “Miss, you saved our old Mr. Howard just now Our young master wants to thank you with this check. You can decide the amount.”  Ellinor glanced at the check. “A check with a limit of 5 million, and you say I can fill in any amount?”  The man in black was stunned She thought it wasn’t enough?  When the man in black came back to his senses, Ellinor had already walked down the steps and got into Chase’s pink sports car.

Chapter 260  “So, what are you gonna do if I don’t move my car?”  The internet star shot a haughty glance at Ellinor, noticing her stunning looks, and couldn’t help feeling a pang of jealousy  However, judging by her frail and helpless demeanor, she was clearly no match for hert  The internet star hatched a plan and turned on her phone, still attached to the selfie stick, to start another live stream.  She quickly switched her expression to a pitiful one, pleading to her viewers.  “Guys, help me out! I just ran into two people trying to scam me for compensation, they damaged my car for absolutely no reason. That old man even had the audacity to accuse me Guys, you’ve got to help me prove my innocence”  She deliberately angled the selfie stick, so her viewers couldn’t see her car parked in the handicap zone.  Ellinor silently watched the ignorant and shameless internet star without uttering a word. She helped the blind old man up, guided him to a safer place, and told him to stay quiet to avoid getting hurt in the upcoming conflict  Then, she turned to face the internet star  Having had enough of her nonsense on the live stream, Ellinor swooped in, snatched the selfie stick, easily snapped it in half, and tossed it away with the phone.  “My phone! My selfie stick!”  The internet star was livid, “You wicked woman, you dare destroy my phone, you’re done for! Watch how I teach you a lesson  With that, she went from her adorable live stream persona to slapping Ellinor across her face.  Ellinor easily caught her wrist and twisted it hard!  The internet star screamed in pain, “Help!”  Ellinor raised an eyebrow, “You want to teach me a lesson? You need a lot more practice!”  The internet star gritted her teeth in pain but remained defiant, “I’m telling you, I’m an internet star with a ton of followers, they’ll protect me, and you’ll regret crossing me today!”  Ellinor remained unfazed, “Whether you’re an internet star or not, you need to be a decent person first! Parking in a handicapped zone affects disabled people, did you know that? And you even laid hands on a blind old man! Do you think your followers would still support you if they knew what kind of person you really are?”  Ellinor lost her patience, demanding, “I’ll ask you again, are you moving your car or not?”  “Fine, I’ll move it! Just let me go, I’ll move it now…  The internet star finally gave in, and Ellinor released her. She walked towards her car, her eyes darting around, planning her revenge.  Suddenly, she spotted a piece of the broken selfie stick on the ground. Her eyes lit up, and she quickly picked it up and lunged at the blind old man.  “You blind old man, I’ll teach you a lesson for messing with my car!”  Seeing the situation go south, Ellinor quickly stepped in front of the old man and gave the out–of–control internet star a swift kick!  The internet star fell but quickly got up, rushing back with the broken selfie stick to attack them again. 

Chapter 259  The older man, although blind, was quite peeved about this “No matter how urgent the matter is, you can’t just park your car on the blind lane. Nowadays, people only think about their convenience and disregard others‘ feelings”  Ellinor sighed, about to help the older man bypass the SUV blocking the path  Suddenly, a shrill voice yelled out, “What the hell are you doing?”  Ellinor turned her head towards the voice to see a young girl with purple hair holding a selfie stick, storming over.  The girl looked at her smashed car window, then rudely demanded, “You two, why did you smash my car?”  Ellinor spotted this purple–haired girl earlier when sitting by the Trent River.  She seemed to be an internet star  She was live streaming at the scenic spot by the Trent River, chatting with her followers in an exaggerated tone, asking for gifts.  The older man was even angrier after hearing the girl’s words and stopped in his tracks.  Although he couldn’t see, his ears were quite sharp. He turned his head toward the direction of the girl’s voice and asked, “Are you the owner of the car?”  The girl crossed her arms arrogantly. “Yes! This is the new off–road vehicle I just bought. It’s very expensive. I saw from far away that you were the one who damaged my car! You better pay for it!”  The old man’s face was stern, “Perfect timing! I want to let you know that you can’t park your car on the blind lane. No matter how expensive the car is, it should be smashed if it’s parked on the blind lane!”  The internet star didn’t seem to believe she did anything wrong and rudely responded, “I’ll park wherever I want. I don’t even know what a blind lane is! Is this your road?!”  The old man was taken aback by her lack of reason, getting so angry he was out of breath, “How did your parents raise you? To treat people like this?”  Seeing the old man getting too worked up. Ellinor, afraid his body couldn’t take it, helped him adjust his breathing.  Then, she told the internet star, “Calm down. Regardless, you shouldn’t have parked your car on the blind lane. It’s against the law”  The internet star scoffed, Illegal? Then why haven’t the police come to find me? Who are you to judge? Do you have any right to control me?”  The old man couldn’t stand it anymore. He gently pulled Ellinor behind him, then held up his cane, addressing the rude girl, “Move your car off the blind lane right now, and I’ll let this go! Otherwise.”  “Otherwise, what? the internet star smirked arrogantly, “Trying to intimidate me? I won’t move my car, what are you going to do about it!”  The old man got angry immediately, raising his cane to teach this uneducated internet star a lesson, “If your parents don’t teach you manners, I will!”  The situation escalated so quickly that Ellinor didn’t even have a chance to stop the old man.  But the internet star, who could see, easily dodged the swinging cane and then shoved the old man to the ground!  “You, a blind man, dare to hit me? Do you know who I am? I’m an internet star with 300,000 followers! You’re not worthy to touch me!”  Seeing this, Ellinor quickly rushed forward and helped the old man up, “Sir, are you okay?”  Fortunately, the old man wasn’t injured but was startled, panting heavily  Ellinor was merely passing by and didn’t want to stir up trouble, but facing such an unreasonable person, she felt she had to teach her a lesson.  She looked up at the internet star, “You better not push it, move your car.” 

Chapter 258  A bright full moon hung in the distance in the night sky, offering a peaceful contrast to the busy world below.  Ellinor whipped out her phone, took a snap of the moon, and then shared it on Instagram with the caption, “Tonight’s moon is so beautiful”  Just a few seconds after she posted it, a friend nicknamed “Moon” liked it and commented, “I think so too.”  Ellinor didn’t recall having a friend like that on her social media account, so she clicked to check it out.  After seeing the content posted on her Instagram, Ellinor figured out that this was Patricia’s social media account  It then dawned on her that she was using Theo’s phone, logged into Theo’s social media account, and posted the Instagram post with Theo’s account.  She casually posted it without realizing that the account wasn’t hers.  Well, what’s done is done  It’s just a moonlit landscape pic, no biggie  Ellinor exited the social media app, made a call, and the other end picked up immediately.  She calmly said, “Chase, come pick me up.”  “Sure thing!”  After hanging up, Ellinor got up, tossed a Coke bottle into the nearby trash can, and then crossed the street to wait for Chase’s car  Suddenly she saw an elderly blind man blocked by an SUV.  The older man, holding his white cane, was helplessly probing around the car. He moved to the left, only to find an obstacle; he moved to the right, still an obstacle.  The older man frowned anxiously, caught between a rock and a hard place, reaching out to feel the object in front.  Ellinor took a look and realized that the SUV was parked on the tactile paving.  What a reckless parker!  Ellinor approached and said, “Sir, your tactile paving is blocked by a car. The owner isn’t around, so the car can’t be moved for now if you tell me where you’re going, I can help you get there.”  Unexpectedly, the older man flew off the handle. When he heard about the car blocking the tactile paving, he violently hit the car with his white cane!  The car window immediately shattered!  Ellinor’s mouth dropped open in surprise, this was totally beyond her expectations.  After hitting the car, the old man angrily said, “Humph! Such an uncivilized person, parking his car on the tactile paving! I smashed his car, let’s see if he dares to park like this again!”  Ellinor had to admit that the older man’s actions seemed somewhat justified, but damaging someone else’s car was still a bit off.  She helplessly advised. “Sir, don’t get too worked up; maybe the car owner was in some kind of emergency and didn’t notice.”
