Chapter 9 Coincidence  Timothy didn’t expect him to hit someone. Nor did he expect to hit Julie! He was so shocked.  Three seconds later, he came back to his senses and ran over.  “Julie?  “Julie, are you OK?”  He got nothing but silence.  Apparently, she lost her consciousness and fainted.  Timothy was anxious and took out his phone to call Zachary.  “Zachary, I hit Julie!”  “How come?” Zachary asked in confusion in a magnetic voice.  Julie just texted him and said she had arrived. “How could there be a car accident?” he thought.  Timothy looked at Julie’s pale face and explained, “I picked Mars up from the airport, and I turned the car too fast. She rushed out, and I didn’t have time to hit the brakes. So I hit her… I didn’t expect this…”  Zachary was puzzled at first. Hearing Mars‘ name, he frowned at once. “How is she? Did Mars get hurt?”  Mars was Zachary’s son. For some reason, he spoiled Mars and even took Mars with him on business trips.  Timothy knew how important Mars was to Zachary. So he hurriedly shook his head. “No. He’s safe and sound. Now, he’s playing the car. Don’t worry. I’ll take Julie to the medical room and check up on Mars. You should come here as soon as possible.”  Timothy was a doctor. In Zachary’s villa, there was the best medical room. It was. more convenient than to send her to the hospital.  13:03  Zachary said coolly, “OK.”  Then he stood up gracefully and strode away.  After he left, Julie walked into the box on her delicate high heels.  She came to see Gladys‘ miserable moments. But she worried that her appearance would be doubtful. So she texted Zachary on purpose to meet him so that she could come for a good reason and prove that it was not her. She also wanted to take the chance to get closer to him.  At that moment, she found no one in the box and frowned. She thought, “Did he go out before I came?”  She turned around and was ready to look for him.  But…  “Gladys, here you are!” A fat hand grabbed her.  Colin couldn’t find Gladys at all downstairs. He thought he could no longer find her, so he went upstairs to find a bartender. But to his surprise, he saw Julie here.  Although she was wearing different clothes, she looked more beautiful.  His face was filled with evil thoughts and passion. With a force, he held her. “You can’t run away now! You’re not going anywhere!”  Julie was shocked when she was held by a man suddenly. She thought, “Shouldn’t he be in bed with Gladys? Why is he here?  I’m the daughter of the Almond family as well as the fiancée of Zachary Bradshaw, the noblest man in Nova City! How could this ugly man touch me?  She was disgusted and raised her hand to slap Colin, giving an order.  “Let go of me! I’m not Gladys Almond! Let go of me!”  Having been kicked, Colin was caught off guard and got slapped. So he was enraged at once.  “Bitch, you’re risking your neck! I’ll show you something!”  “Ah! It hurts!” Julie’s hair was grabbed by Colin, who dragged her into a room. Her scalp hurt a lot.  13:0  She had never been treated so rudely. It made her scared and sad. She struggled hard to run away. But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t resist his strength.  “Boohoo, let go of me. Help… Help…”  A bang sounded. Colin didn’t care if she was crying and pressed her down on the sofa rudely…

Chapter 5 Fundamental Problem of a Failed Relationship  Outside the villa.  Gladys hurried out of the villa complex. The night wind was chilly, and she took a deep breath.  Though Gladys had never wanted to be with Zachary, the way he wronged and threatened her made her angry.  That man was so narcissistic. If he were a detective, he’d wrong countless innocent people.  “Gladys! It’s you!” a familiar voice suddenly came into Gladys’s ears.  Gladys looked up and saw Julie walking out from behind the fountain.  Julie had always appeared to be an elegant and proud lady, but now her face contorted with shock.  Gladys was staggered to see her sister,  “Julie, why are you here?” Wasn’t she supposed to be on her way to buy wine? The supermarket wasn’t in this direction.  Just as Gladys was puzzled, a smack landed on her face.  Caught off guard, Gladys fell to the ground. A clear palm print appeared on her fair cheek.  Julie stared at her angrily.  “I’m  your  sister! How could you do this to me? Did you forget what you promised me a few years ago? How could you seduce Zachary?  “What did you two do in the room just now? Are you trying to tell him the secret and ruin my happiness? You want to replace me and marry him, don’t you? How could you be so wicked? How could you do this to me? I’m your sister!”  Julie was agitated, and her words were harsh.  13:00  Gladys’s cheek and elbow were burning with pain, and she felt dizzy. She crawled up from the ground, feeling aggrieved and angry.  “Julie, I came here to deliver takeout. I didn’t know the customer was Zachary. He mistook me for you, but nothing happened between us. I only hid because I was afraid you’d misunderstand me.  “If I had improper thoughts about him, why would I hide for three years?”  Julie was at a loss for words.  Indeed, in the past three years, Julie had worried about what Gladys might do, but  Gladys had never appeared in her life once. This time must have been at  coincidence.  Gladys continued, “I hid for three years for you. How could you slap me just because of him? You’re a sister to me, but what am I to you?”  To Julie, Gladys was a thorn in her flesh.  But she wouldn’t admit it, of course.  Faking a smile, Julie said, “Gladys, you’re a sister to me too. I’m sorry for doubting you just now. Chapter 4 Trying to Seduce Me?  Zachary sat on the couch, tapping the armrest with his slender fingers, exuding an air of elegance and dignity.  He appeared indifferent to the happenings around him.  Inwardly, Gladys called out for his assistance.  Julie, in her high heels, reached the curtains.  Gladys was on the brink of tears.  She closed her eyes, searching for excuses in her mind, preparing for the worst.  At that crucial moment, the man on the couch finally ended the silence.  “Julie, I’ve run out of wine. Go buy a bottle for me.”  Julie stopped in her tracks.  Despite not having an intimate relationship with Zachary, they had spent a considerable amount of time together. She knew Zachary wouldn’t settle for wine from just any store.  She, however, had no habit of refusing Zachary. “Okay.”  With that, Julie went outside.  Just before she exited, Julie cast a glance at the feet under the curtain.  It was too conspicuous for her to overlook.  Julie’s suspicions were validated: someone was attempting to seduce her fiancé. What kind of woman could prompt the noble and reserved Zachary to deceive?  As the footsteps receded, the villa returned to tranquility.  Gladys’s heart, which had almost jumped out of her throat, finally returned to its place.  1302  That was close. If it weren’t for Zachary, she would have been caught.  In retrospect, their recent actions seemed like an attempt to conceal something between them, and the realization caused Gladys to blush.  She walked out and said, “Thank you for helping me. I’ll be leaving.”  “Leaving?” Zachary sneered, his sharp gaze fixed on her. “Why do you look exactly  like Julie?”  His voice was cold, akin to interrogating a criminal. The message was clear: he wouldn’t permit her departure until she provided a satisfactory explanation.  Gladys halted in her tracks.  As twins, Gladys and her sister naturally bore an identical appearance. Even they had been surprised at their initial encounter.  The challenge now was how to explain it without revealing the significant secret she was harboring.  Her hesitation made Zachary’s already cold expression even more frosty.  He stood up, walked over gracefully, and looked down at her.  “Plastic surgery? Are you trying to impersonate Julie and seduce me?” he demanded, his voice was exceptionally cold.  Each word was laced with disdain.  Gladys‘ eyebrows furrowed.  Plastic surgery? Seduce him?  Gladys, born with her natural features, even her eyelashes, couldn’t fathom which part of her resembled the result of plastic surgery. His accusation left her feeling offended.  She promptly defended herself, “Sir, you made a move on me, not the other way  around.”  “I was just here to deliver takeout, but you pulled me into your arms, mentioning something about role–playing. You even kissed me. That was sexual assault. I cant sue you for that!” As she recounted their previous interaction, Gladys blushed once  again.  Zachary had never faced such a scolding. Even the president of the country had to show him respect. Yet, this girl was now threatening to sue him for sexual assault.  With a sharp look in his eyes, Zachary sneered, “Sue me? Go ahead. Let’s see if the court rules that I sexually assaulted you or if you impersonated my fiancée and seduced me.”  His pleasant voice carried a hint of threat.  Zachary was a bigwig, while Gladys was just a nobody. Most people would tend to believe him.  But Gladys didn’t try to seduce him.  Gladys was infuriated and frustrated. Not only did this guy take advantage of her, but he also tried to make it sound like her fault.  That was unbelievable!  Staring into his eyes, Gladys snapped, “Sir, haven’t you ever heard of twins? I’m Gladys Almond, Julie’s twin sister. Running into you was purely a coincidence. I hid from my sister just now because I wasn’t supposed to appear in her life. I don’t want her to get the wrong idea. If you don’t believe me, you can look into it.”  Her voice was clear and forceful.  Zachary’s eyebrows furrowed.  He hadn’t considered the possibility of twins. When did Julie have a twin sister? 

Chapter 3 She Is About to Be Caught  Just as Gladys was at a loss and confused, the doorbell rang suddenly.  A gentle female voice sounded from the outside, “Zachary, I have things in my hands. Open the door for me.”  That voice belonged to Julie.  Gladys tensed up, her heart almost jumping out of her throat. The nervousness somehow gave her the strength to push Zachary away.  Her sister was here.  What should she do?  Fear flooded Gladys.  Zachary also heard the voice from the outside. He looked at the pale–faced woman before him, frowned, and clicked on the doorbell video, only to find an identical woman standing outside. He was shocked and confused.  What was going on?  How come there would be another Julie outside when he was holding one in his  arms?  The atmosphere became tense.  Gladys was so anxious that she couldn’t care less about what Zachary was thinking.  Julie had ordered her to stay away from Zachary. If Julie came in to see her flushed. lips and messy clothes, what would Julie think?  Gladys pleaded in panic, “Sir, help me.”  Zachary finally figured out one thing.  This woman was not Julie.  He demanded, his face stern, “Who are you?”  Gladys clenched her hands.  Gladys was tempted to tell Zachary that she was Julie’s sister, but she was worried that it would give away her secret.  The doorbell rang again before Gladys decided how to answer his question.  Julie urged from the outside, “Zachary, are you there?”  Zachary studied her panicked look and pondered.  After a moment, to avoid unnecessary trouble, he decided, “Go inside. Don’t come out without my order.“”  His cold voice was a stark contrast to his previous passion.  “Yes.” With a nod, Gladys hurried into the living room and hid behind the curtains.  She was faster than a rabbit.  After making sure she was hidden, Zachary withdrew his gaze and opened the  door.  Julie had been standing outside holding a bunch of groceries. At the sight of Zachary, she immediately gave a smile.  “Zachary, what took you so long? I was starting to think you were away.”  Her voice was gentle, making her sound like a sweet wife.  Zachary looked at the face identical to the one from a moment ago and had a lot of questions in his mind, but he didn’t show any of that on his face.  “Don’t you need to work? Why did you come here?” asked Zachary in a detached  voice.  Julie’s face darkened.  Julie and Zachary were supposed to get married three years ago, but his grandfather’s sudden departure from the world interrupted their plan. Zachary had been indifferent to her ever since, never mentioning getting married again. Julie had herself transferred here to spend more time with him, but he didn’t seem as excited as she’d expected.  21.87%  13:02  She replied, still smiling, “I was worried about you. You always have difficulty  adapting to the food and climate whenever you get to a new place, so I made some time to come over and cook for you.””  Zachary showed her the takeout.  “You can save the trouble in the future. There’s a store selling takeout that Mars and I like.”  His tone was cold and condescending, not gentle at all.  Behind the curtains, Gladys heard every word he said.  She secretly criticized Zachary for not being grateful to Julie, who had offered to cook for him.  Julie was surprised that Zachary would reject her, so she gave a bitter smile.  Just as Julie was about to say something, she suddenly noticed a strand of woman’s hair on his white shirt.  “Zachary, how did a woman’s hair end up on your clothes?” Julie

Chapter 2 You Succeeded Tonight  Three years later.  In Salvon City.  “Gladys, the customer from Sunset Ridge Estates called again. How much longer do you need to deliver the food?” urged Gladys’s best friend over the phone.  Carrying the takeout, Gladys walked through the intricate maze of standalone villas and searched for a while before finding number 99.  “I’m here. Just found it.”  “Good. The customer sounded displeased. Residents in that neighborhood are either wealthy or influential. He must be someone formidable. Be careful.”  “Okay, I will.” Gladys hung up and rang the bell, deciding to clock off and go home. after this delivery.  However, as the luxurious electronic door opened, she was dumbfounded.  She recognized the elegant and handsome man standing inside..  It was none other than Zachary Bradshaw, the man she’d spent one night with several years ago.  Before this moment, Gladys had no idea he was in Salvon City.  She’d left Nova City three years ago with the belief that she would never meet him again. But now, they ran into each other by chance. Gladys had no idea what to do.  As for Zachary, he was gazing at Gladys and frowned slightly.  The woman before him was wearing a black knee–length skirt resembling a uniform, with a white lace apron. Her figure was stunning.  Knowing Julie for ten years, Zachary had never seen her dressed like that.  “You’ve changed your style,” Zachary mumbled.  13.02  Style? What style?  Gladys was puzzled but soon remembered her sister had told her to pretend not to know Zachary if they met.  She struggled to calm down and lowered her head, saying, “Sir, here’s your takeout. A total of 16 dollars, please.”  Gladys handed Zachary the takeout, intending to leave as soon as the bill was settled. To her surprise, Zachary didn’t reach out for the food, only gazing at her with interest. She kept trying but just couldn’t put the food in his hand.  Her behavior seemed like flirting to him.  Zachary felt a surge of electricity flowing from her hand into his bloodstream. He suddenly grabbed her wrist, pulling her into his arms.  “Role–playing? Nice trick. I like it,” said Zachary, a playful smile tugging at his lips.  Gladys bumped into his chest, staring with shock and rage.  She cursed inwardly, “Role–playing your ass!  “Get your hands off me!”  Panicked, Gladys raised her hands in a futile attempt to push him away. “Sir, I don’t know what you’re talking about. Get your hands off…”  During her struggle, he could smell a faint, pleasant scent from her.  Zachary felt butterflies in his stomach.  For years, he hadn’t had any sexual urge except for that night. Now, this woman successfully turned him on with a role–playing outfit.  “Don’t move,” he warned in a husky voice.  If she kept moving, he couldn’t guarantee what might happen next.  Gladys didn’t stop struggling, of course.  She didn’t want anything to do with this guy. Besides, he had no right to hold her in his arms.  Gladys opened her mouth and bit him.  37.65%%  13:02  She intended to deliver a hard bite, but it was just another way of flirting for a man.  As his reason finally gave in to his physical desire, Zachary raised his hand to hold  back of her head.  “Julie, you succeeded tonight,” he cooed in her ears.  Gladys was stupefied at the mention of Julie.  It seemed like he mistook her for Julie once again.  But what did he mean she succeeded?
