When the three of them had been in university, they had fallen in love with the same woman.

That had only lasted until a get–together where they had pointed at a student on the stage and told each other that they liked her. That had been the moment they had found out.
The news had come like a lightning strike out of the blue.
“When I got to know that we liked the same person back then, I honestly felt like dying.” Talking about the past, Jude lost the stern expression on his face. Instead, he looked old and doddery.
“I didn’t know what the two of them were thinking. But seeing as we all split up after that, they must have felt the same way.”
After finding out that they had been in love with the same woman, they had drifted apart.
Although they had agreed to compete fairly, they soon found that the others had been secretly sending gifts.
With that, the agreement among them had been broken, and they had started to fight among each other openly.
Jude didn’t even remember what had started their first fight. He only remembered how they had
all gone to the field.
The taunts of their coursemates, coupled with their own resentment, had driven them into a no-
holds–barred fight.
But that fight hadn’t improved their relationship. Instead, it had caused their friendship to reach a
freezing point.
The woman had soon found out that the three of them had been fighting because of her.
Upon reasling that, she had withdrawn herself from the university and gone home, unable to bear
the gossip on campus.
“After getting the news, I decided that I had to go see her during the summer holidays.” Jude’s
eyes shone with light.
