Chapter 40
Emily Thompson
“Emily, where are you right now?” Janet asked immediately after I picked up
her call.
“What’s going on?” I asked and before she could reply to me, I added again. “Look, Janet, I’m not in the mood for any girl’s outing today. I just want to be indoors‘ I said, not in the mood. to talk to her right now.
I wish I could just hang up the call right now and focus on myself. I’m not myself and I’m also not happy. I just got back from Bryan’s office and it’s so disheartening. I can’t believe he could treat me in such a manner.
This is exactly what I’ve been scared of. He’s no longer the Bryan I used to know. All the pampering, sweet, and assuring words are no longer there. I’ve been getting scared of this and now, it’s already happening to us. His love for me is slowly fading away.
“Look girl, I’m also not in the mood to do anything with you. If it were to be left to me alone, I would never go out with you because you’re always an annoying type” She said in a pissed tone and then hissed. I could tell that she just rolled her eyes at me.
Why am I not surprised by her words? She always does these to me. She always makes me feel like I’m never wanted in the family so, it’s no longer a new thing.
Janet please, not today.” I said in a weak tone. I’m not just in the mood to banter words with her because doing that will just make me sad. She will end up throwing hurtful words at me.
“Well, I only called to inform you that your husband is out there to have a lunch date with another woman”
“What?!!” I shrieked, jumping up from where I was sitting as my eyes widened in horror. My whole b*dy is beginning to shake from anger and fear.
“What are you saying? Bryan went out on a date with a woman? How is that possible?! I just

“Well, I don’t know about that part. I only went to see Sky there in his office. You know he was supposed to meet with Dad as they have somewhere to go to together but Dad asked me to go in his place but when I arrived there, I saw him opening his car door for a lady.”
“You need to see her, Emily. She looks so beautiful and elegant. from the look on her face, can bet that she likes Bryan. You need to do something about it before your husband gets taken away from you just in the same way Xavier was taken away from you in the past” she Guld.
Not able to hear another hurtful word coming out of her mouth, I hung up the call and tears

I wanted to go meet them wherever they were but something in me kept stopping me and telling me not to go. I decided to call him on the phone but he ignored my calls. I gave him 12 missed calls yet, he didn’t answer his call.
Okay, that’s it. I can’t take it anymore.
I searched for his secretary’s contact in my contact list and dialed her number to ask about Bryan’s location. I need to get his location from her as soon as possible!
There’s no way I’m going to allow any woman to take away Bryan from me. He’s MINE and MINE alone!
Getting to the restaurant where they went, I walked in and began to wander my eyes all over the place to spot them.
Just in time, I found him. The girl’s back was facing me and I couldn’t see anything but Bryan… He was sitting there smiling at whatever the girl was saying to him. He looks so happy right now. How dare he laugh at another woman when he just made me sad a few hours ago?
As my anger began to rise from within me, I marched forward to where they were sitting but immediately Bryan saw me, he widened his eyes out of shock
Of course, he should be shocked to see me here after all, he’s out here cheating on me with
another woman.
“Emily?” He called, looking confused.

What?! Are you accusing me of cheating on you with your husband? Do you even realize who you’re talking to?”
“I don’t care to know! You’re a nob*dy to me. For as long as you’re leashing around with my man then, you mean nothing but a pest to me. Just stay away from my man! He’s mine and mine alone!” I yelled, and by now I was already getting attention from the people around us. It’s kinda embarrassing but I don’t care.
Anything that involves Bryan, I’m never going to joke with it.
“Emily, what is wrong with you?! You’re embarrassing me for goodness sake!” He said in a pissed tone.
“Stop yelling at me, Bryan! You came out to be with another woman, enjoying her when you fully know that I’m never going to be okay with it?”

“Stop causing a scene, please. I’m not having an affair with her. She’s just my business partner for F*** sake!”
“Business partner yet, you brought her to this fancy restaurant and smiled at her talk. You weren’t even bothered about the fact that you and I argued hours ago! I couldn’t concentrate properly but you’re out here having fun with someone else!”
“Mr Samuel, what the hell is going on here?”
“Ms. Claire, I’m sorry but allow me to handle this” he said to her whilst he faced her.
“You know what? I think the proposal for the deal between your company and I was a mistake. I will have to work with a well–suitable company instead. Gosh! I’m just disappointed. Everyone speaks very highly of you and when I decide to give it a trial with you, this is what I get in return?”
“Ms. Claire, you don’t have to call it off, you know. She’s my wife and I’m sure if you’re in her shoes, you would also do the same thing. Can we not mix family with business?”

“Emily! What the hell do you think you’re doing?!” He busted at me angrily.
He gently turned to face the girl and said. “I understand if you don’t want to have a business deal with my company. I can’t force you if you have already made your choice. I wish you

the best in the future” With that being said, he took my right hand and dragged me out with
him.
“Bryan! You’re hurting me!” I complained but this man turned a deaf ear suddenly. He acted like he wasn’t the one I was speaking to. His grip on my wrist became tighter and he acted like he didn’t care.
When we got to his car, he opened the door and pushed me in. Not in a rough way though.
And right there, I knew I was already in trouble. With the look on his face, I know he’s not going to take it easy with me. He looks mad.
I didn’t do anything wrong, right? I am only fighting for what’s mine but, why is everyone seeing me as a mad woman? Why are they making me feel like I’m doing too much?
