1 raise my head to look at him because of course, he must have heard my conversation with grandma. Ready to accept his outburst and questions, I ended up being surprised by what stood in front of me.
“You? What are you doing here?” I asked, confusedly.
It’s one of the maids; Isabella.
Realizing that I’m still connected on a call with Grandma, I bend to take the phone from the floor. “Grandma, I will call you back, okay?” I said to her and hang up the call.
“I’m… I’m sorry ma’am for barging into your room without your permission. Actually I… I have been knocking for the past two minutes but you weren’t responding. I waited for you to-”
“It’s fine “I cut her off, taking in a sharp deep breath. She was already shaking in fear as she tried explaining herself to me. Despite telling them countless times not to be afraid of me that I’m not Bryan. I told them to be free with me whenever they want to talk to me but no, they keep on repeating the same action.
I’m tired of making them see me as someone they could freely talk to. “What do you want?” I gently asked. I don’t want it to come out rude or intimidating but I guess, it did in the end.
“L… I came to… I-”
“Isabella, can you stop this already? I told you not to be like this whenever you’re with me. Always be free with me. I’m not Bryan. And please, stop calling me ma’am. Just Emily is fine” I said with a small smile on my face. I tried my best to portray that expression hoping she would buy my complaint but as they say; whatever someone keeps in mind, they will always make sure to make it come to
pass.
“Mr Bryan is going to fire me he caught me doing that with you. I’m sorry, ma’am” she apologized doing the same thing I just asked her not to do.
This is what I go through in their hands every day in this house. I even want to befriend them but they make it seem like I’m putting them in danger. I had to withdraw back because making them uncomfortable was the last thing I would: ever do.

“Actually, I noticed that you came back home early today so, I came to ask what you would like to eat for lunch so we can prepare it?”
My goodness. So, this has been about my meal? And she took forever to talk?
“Erm… I think I’m fine for now. Maybe when Bryan returns, we can think of preparing something. Thank you, Bella‘ I said, giving her my sweetest smile ever.
Even though deep down, I’m really scared. Only goodness knows what would have happened if that was Bryan who walked in. I had thought it was him, I’m glad it’s Bella.
She wouldn’t have heard my conversation with Grandma, would she?
“Okay ma’am” She bowed her head a little and I picked up my phone believing she was going to leave but, feeling her presence made me raise my head to give a confused look.
“Is everything okay, Bella?” I asked as I raised one of my brows at her, questionably.
“Please ma’am, I… I don’t know… I mean, It’s nothing. I will… I will just do as you’ve instructed” She said and hurriedly turned around to leave the room but I stopped
her.
“Turn around and tell me what’s on your mind, Bella. I’m sure you have something in mind to tell me. Or, you want me to report you to my husband?” I threatened her.
Of course, I wasn’t going to do that. I only said that to scare her so she can tell me what’s on her mind.
It’s evident that she has something important to say to me but she’s scared. I wonder what it could be though.
“I… I… I’m sorry. I swear, I didn’t mean to eavesdrop on your conversation.” Immediately she said that my heart began to pound so fast. “I’m also aware that I’m not in the right position to tell you what to do but I think, it’s best if you tell him the truth. He loves you so much. Everyone knows that already. It’s so evident in his eyes and you’re his weakness. He’s never going to push his weakness away. Tell him the truth and I’m sure, he will accept his child. He will be glad to be called a father. Your family will be complete and I’m sure you’ll love that to happen” She said and my heart stopped working for a second.
She heard all of my conversations with Grandma.
H.. How did you… How come you know so much about this?
“I’m sorry ma’am. It wasn’t intentional. Also, you don’t have to worry about anything. Your secret is safe with me. I beg to take my leave ” She bowed to me one last time before rushing out of my room in a hurry.
My eyes were still fixed at the door and tears.

I’m doom! I’m doomed for good!– I thought worriedly as I hurriedly took my phone to call Jessica.
She picked at the first ring and started with her sarcastic talk as always. “Finally! Someone realizes she has a sister somewhere. After your marriage with Bryan, you’ve totally changed. You hardly talk to me which is very annoying. I might end up telling Bryan to divorce you so I can have you all to myself” I could imagine her rolling her eyes.
“There’s a problem, Jessy ” I said in a worried tone not replying to what she just said.
“What?! Problem? Is this about Bryan? Did he do anything to you? What has he done? I swear I’m never going to forgive him if he does anything stupid because I-”
Calm down, Jessy!” I cut her off, rolling my eyes even though she couldn’t see me. “This isn’t about Bryan.”
After telling her everything, her advice was to keep an eye on the maid for the time being. I decided to go with that even though I was still scared.
I wasn’t over that when my phone began to ring. Taking it from the bed and looking at the screen, my boss’s name appeared on the screen.
Biting my lower l*p nervously, I slid to answer his call and put it on speaker. “Mrs. Samuel Came his hard voice.
“Mr Milton, it’s not what you think. I can explain please” I begin to plead with him.
“Let’s clear one thing, Mrs Samuel. Just because you’re Mr. Bryan Samuel’s wife doesn’t mean you can have your way however you want. This is a company I started the hard way. It was built through my sweat and I wouldn’t allow someone like you who has no experience about life to ruin it for me
But Mr. Milton, you don’t even know what happened that made me leave. I didn’t do it on purpose plea-
Before I could finish explaining myself to him, he cut me off again. “You need to be in my office in the next 30 minutes. I don’t care if you’re Mr. Bryan’s wife or
you’re going to do it but, you have to be in my not. I also do not care to know how office in the next 30 minutes. For as long you still work under me, I have the right to do whatsoever I wish to you”
“And the same goes here too” Bryan said as he snatched the phone away from me.
H… How? When did he walk in and I don’t know?– I thought confusedly.
“I can do whatsoever I wish to do to you. Do you know why? Because I’m Bryan Samuel and no matter what I do, no one will dare question me‘ he threatened him in a very dangerous tone.
I tried to take my phone from him but he wouldn’t give it to me. He looks very upset right now.
Was it because of me or work? I have no idea yet.
“M… Mr Bryan. My boss began to stutter.

“No… No. Of course, I wouldn’t dare threaten her. You’re mistaking the whole thing please, Mr Bryan” he beseech. One could hear the fear laced in his voice.
“You owned only 32% shares in your company. Have you ever wondered who owns. the largest share in your company?” Bryan asked.
What are you talking about?” He asked, confusedly. The truth is, he’s not the only one who’s confused. I am as well.
“Allow me to break it down for you. A month ago, your stock fell drastically from 72% to 35% and you decided to sell part of your shares so you could have someone to back your company up as you were afraid it would go bankrupt any moment. The CEO of Exxon Mobil decided to buy 53% of shares out of the 85% you owned. Do you know who that CEO is?”

Smart boy. You’re smart just like I’ve imagined.” Bryan said whilst I looked at him in horror.
How in the world did he become the largest shareholder in my company yet, I have no idea about it.
Not only did you kill your brother just so you can inherit his wealth and his company but you decided to finish his lineage by killing his two sons and his wife” Bryan announced again and my legs began to shake.
No, Mr. Milton is never that kind of a person. He will never kill to gain something
in return.
I think Bryan is mistaken.
