I walked into our room but couldn’t find him anywhere. Looking around confusedly, I rushed to the bathroom and he wasn’t there either.
Where could he have gone too?– I thought. Then, I realized that he might be on the balcony. I went through the back door and met him sitting on one of the chairs.

A relieving sigh left my l*p before walking towards him. I took a sit beside him and before I could say anything, he beat me to it. “I had no idea she would be there. I cancelled my contract with that company because of her but she told me she has something important to talk to me about.”
He slowly turned to face me and held my hands. “Whatever you saw earlier wasn’t real. I didn’t even know how it happened. She suddenly jumped on me and k*ssed me taking me off guard. And even if you were not there, I would have stopped her. I will never cheat on you‘
I was so silly to have judged him. Maybe it’s because I was jealous?
“I’m sorry that I misjudged you. Let’s say, I was really jealous after witnessing that took it the wrong way”
“No, it’s not your fault. You have all the right to be upset but I need you to know that I will never cheat on you”
“I believe you Bryan and I’m sorry for overreacting too”
“It’s fine. I’m sorry for the way Aunt Capella keeps treating you. More reason why I stop her from visiting us for the time being. I can’t bear seeing her treat you this way”
“It’s fine and I’m used to it. You shouldn’t have done that though”

Okay Emily, this is the right time to tell him the truth. All you’ve been hiding away from him… Now is the time to let it out- I mentally said to myself.
Bryan… I trailed off breaking the hug.
“What is it, babe? Is there anything bothering you?” He asked and I nodded my head.
“Hmmm” he hummed, smiling. “I’m here so tell me. What’s it that’s bothering you?” He asked and before I could say anything, he asked again. “Is this about my aunt? You don’t have to worry yourself if this is about her. I’m never going to allow her to hurt you again. I will always be here for you babe. I will make sure to talk to her and she will never disrespect you again”
“No Bryan, this is not about her” I said in a small tone. He looked at me strangely but still stayed mute. I guess he was waiting for me to pour my heart out but out of the blue, I became scared.
I don’t know how he’s going to react to this. Just days ago, I was ready to keep this away from him for the time being but now, I’m about to let it all out.
I need to do this for this peace of my mind.
“Bryan… Actually I… I’m sorry. I mean, I didn’t mean to keep this away from you for this long but I really don’t know how to put it down to you. Erm… You know when we both had-” Before I could finish my statement, the ringing tone of his phone cut me off.
He brought out his phone from his pocket and my brother’s name appeared on the screen.
I wonder why he’s calling him. Could it be something very serious?
He silenced the phone and was about to put it back in his pocket but I stopped him. No Bryan. You have to pick his call” I said.
“I will talk to him later. You’re more important to me right now. I can bet from the look on your face that it’s something very serious. Just forget about the call and talk to me” he said trying to hold my hand.
“No Bryan. For Brandon to call you mean it’s also something important. Please, just pick up his call before it hangs up.” I urge him to pick up the call.
After a deep sigh, he finally answers but the look on his face after receiving the call says it all. Something big has happened.
“What?!!” He jumped up from his seat with an angry expression on his face.
“Fuck! I’m coming there right now. Just hold him down. Do whatever you can to

make him wait, I will be there in a jiffy” he said and hung up the call.
I also got up from my seat and looked at him worriedly. “Bryan, what’s going on?” I asked in a worried tone.
“I’m sorry babe but something big came up. I need to attend to it now because if I don’t, it would escalate more than this “he said, picking his jacket from the chair. “Stop talking in parables and talk to me. What’s going on?” I asked again..
“I promise to tell you everything when I come back. Just take care of yourself” he k*ssed me on my forehead and walked away.
I stood there watching his retreating back out of shock. What could have possibly happened? Is this something serious?
Of course, It is!
From the look on his face, it says it all.
I hurriedly brought out my phone from my bag to call Brandon and ask what the problem could be but he wasn’t also picking up despite giving him countless missed calls.
Getting tired of the whole thing happening, I decided to go back inside and change into something comfortable.
Not to forget my boss, he’s definitely going to be upset at me for ruining his whole. plan. All because of jealousy, I end up disappointing him. I know that once he learns that I left the company even before meeting him, there will be a problem.
Thirty minutes later, I had already freshened up, was on my bed and I decided to dial Grandma’s number. I need to talk to Aaron.
“Hey, Emily” she said, picking up the call on the second ring.
“Good afternoon grandma” I said in a weak voice and looking the wall clock at the same time. It’s just exactly noon.
“You sound tired and not too bright. Is everything okay with you?”
“Yes and No” I answered truthfully.
I might be closer with Brandon who’s always protective when it comes to me but when it comes to sharing my thoughts, I do that mostly with grandma. I share my thoughts with her than with any other person.

“Yes and No?” She asked again. I could imagine the questioning look on her face from here. “Is this about you and Bryan?”
“Yes. I’m scared grandma. I missed my son so much. I want to be with him and at the same time, I don’t want to lose Bryan‘ I announced.
“Why? I thought he loved you?” She asked.
Yes, I did tell her Bryan loves me so much- this was when we talked days ago.
“He did. He spoils me with love and care. He doesn’t want anything bad to happen to me. He acts like if I’m no longer in his life, he won’t be able to live again. He protects me at all times but still, I’m scared. What if he changes after I tell him I have a son for him? He never talks about us having a child together and somehow, I feel he isn’t ready for that yet”
“But you asked him the other day, right? If he wants to have children with you and he succumbed to it”
“You’re right” I bite my lower l*p nervously.
“So, what are you still scared of? You need to do the needful as soon as possible. You wouldn’t want to lose your son and your husband at the same time, would you?”
“I don’t know. I’m just scared.”
“You don’t have to. This is your time to prove yourself. Wave away your fear and face reality. You need to bring your family all together. You missed your son and it’s your right to be with him. This is the stage in his life where he needs his mother and father the most. He wouldn’t stop asking after you every day and I don’t even know what excuse to give him anymore”
But grandma, I still-”
“Think about it dear and make the right decision. Be snan about it, time doesn’t wait for anyone, Emily” She advised.
And just before I could reply her, my room door suddenly burst open and the phone in my hand fell from my hand out of shock.
