Chapter 162 Hurt for Life
Chandler glanced at her indifferently. “Mm–hmm. Let’s go.”
Seeing that he walked off without caring about her, Jazzlyn could not help but call out. “Chandler.”
The way she called out for him sounded like she had something else to say, but it did not make Chandler turn around. With his back facing her, he asked, “What’s the matter?”
Jazzlyn did not get mad that he did not turn around. She said in a delicate voice. “We’re a married couple from today onward. I know this marriage was decided by our grandfathers, so it might be a little sudden to you. It’s very sudden to me as well-”
Chandler turned around and looked at her, saying. “That’s right! It’s indeed very sudden to me. You should know why I agreed to this.”
Hearing what he said, Jazzlyn immediately looked a little embarrassed.
Since Chandler had already told her upfront what he was thinking deep down, Jazzlyn felt that she had to tell him what she felt as well. “I know a marriage without feelings as a foundation is indeed going to be hard for the both of us. But feelings can be developed slowly. As

Upon saying that, he turned around and left.
Jazzlyn’s heart was pounding like crazy as she watched his tall figure walk away.
Chandler’s stunningly handsome face made her heart flutter.
She had never had a crush or longed for a man like this in the past 28 years of her life. When her grandfather, Harold Overton, held up a business magazine and asked her if she was willing to marry the man on the cover, Jazzlyn could not even take her eyes off him!
She was extremely envious to see how perfect Chandler and Alana’s photo was on the cover, and she desperately wanted to be the
woman in it instead.
Without hesitation, Jazzlyn told her grandfather she was willing! She was extremely willing!
Harold laughed and said, “It seems like my dear granddaughter really likes him! Alright, leave this to me.”
Everything went very smoothly. Soon after both their families agreed, their marriage was decided.
Jazzlyn initially thought Chandler might have fallen for her at first sight as well. However, she did not expect that he only did it for his
grandfather.
No matter what, being married to Chandler was a dream come true to her, so, she absolutely would not give up pursuing Chandler!
A man like him would be the center of attention wherever he went, so she must gain an advantage by being close to him!
Harold even reminded her to use her wisdom to control her man and the most straightforward method would be bearing Chandler’s child.
Therefore, Jazzlyn had been longing to consummate their marriage that night! With her face flushed, she quickly walked toward the living
room.
Two hours later, Simon and his father, Andrew, were the first to drive off. The Overton family was also preparing to leave the Frost
residence.
The Frost family saw the Overton family out together, and the Overton family’s driver was already waiting by the car.
Jazzlyn’s mother, Ruby Zanetti, pulled her into the garden and said softly with a slight awkwardness to her voice, “Jazz, I want to remind you that it’s quite tough for a woman when doing the deed for the first time. Just endure it, and it will be over.”

Ruby nodded as she felt her daughter made sense. She glanced at her husband, Frank Overton, who was waiting for her in the near
distance, she said, “Alright. We’re leaving now. From today on, you’re a married woman. You have to be more tolerant of everything. You
can’t be throwing tantrums like a child anymore, and you have to care for his father and grandfather-*

Jazzlyn looked down with slight bashfulness and said, “Mom, I know …”
“You have to know why Chandler’s grandfather insists on letting you and Chandler stay here tonight-”
Ruby still wanted to go on, but Frank called out, “Ruby, we should go. It’s getting late. Let’s not hold the children back from getting their
rest.”
As soon as her husband reminded her, Ruby held Jazzlyn’s hand and walked forward.
The families bid each other farewell, then Harold, Ruby, and Frank left in their car.
After the car drove into the distance, Gaston turned sideways while holding his cane and said to Jazzlyn, “Jazz, I’m sorry to make you and Chandler stay at my place tonight. Don’t worry. You’ll be going back to your new home tomorrow.”
Jazzlyn put on a sweet smile. “What are you talking about, Grandpa? This place is great! As long as you’re willing, Chandler and I can keep
slaying here to keep you company.”
“Hahaha. I’m really happy to hear that! Come on, Jazz, come inside with me. I’ll show you to your room tonight. I’ve decorated the room myself Gaston had already turned around. Jazzlyn quickly supported him by his arm and walked forward with him.
Standing behind them, Quentin turned to look at Chandler and saw that he was sending a text. Quentin frowned and said softly. “Come
with me.”
Chandler looked up and glanced at him. “Are you willing to give me the address now?*
“Hmph. Do you think I’ll go back on my word?” Quentin walked toward the living room.
After Chandler saw that his text for Erin had already been sent, he quickly put his phone away and walked in Quentin’s direction with big
strides.
Ten minutes later, Quentin took out an old postcard from the safe in his study and put it on the desk.
“Your mother had sent this postcard from Saeypolis one hundred days after you were born. To my knowledge, she is still staying there right now If you really want to know the truth, go look for her.” Quentin’s expression looked a little complicated. He took out a cigarette. from the pack he picked up from the table.
Chandler’s eyes looked like countless thoughts were running through his mind. There was a catch in his throat, making him unable to
speak.
This old postcard was like the key that was about to open Pandora’s box. His lingers were shaking when he picked the postcard up.
He saw that other than the address, name, and postcode, a line was written on the blank column. “I wish that you’ll be happy and sale for
the rest of your life, my child.”
Other than this blessing, his mother had never appeared in the first half of his life. He had never had a mother’s love like an ordinary child.
Chandler stood in place and stared at the postcard for five minutes without saying anything.
Quentin had been smoking the whole time. It was when Chandler turned around to leave the study that Quentin suddenly said, “Chandler, I know you must resent me for lying about your mother, but I did it to protect you! I also know you might think I’m very hypocritical to say this as well, but I want to tell you that no father wouldn’t love his child-”

Quentin’s hand immediately stiffened, and the ash in between his fingers instantly fell to the carpet.

Chandler, on the other hand, kept staring right at Quentin’s eyes the whole time. Seeing that Quentin said nothing in the end, Chandler gave up waiting for an answer and turned to leave.
Right when he opened the door, Quentin suddenly said to his back, “Chandler! It was because I was hurt too badly by your mother back.
