Chapter 161 I Have My Reasons 1
Hans nodded at Sean respectfully before leaving the kitchen.
Not long after Hans left. Erin came into the kitchen with her hair dried and clothes changed.
Standing in the near distance, she saw Sean cutting the live lobster’s antenna with a pair of scissors and was deep in thought. His movements looked a little angry, and the lobster kept resisting him..
Finally, Erin said, “Did you forget how to cook, Chel Sean? Is there a need for you to look so resentful?”
Hearing her voice, Sean looked at Erin, who had her gorgeous hair cascading down her shoulders. Her bare face looked so refined and beautiful that he was stunned. Even though he was already used to seeing beautiful women, his heart still pounded when he saw a naturally beautiful woman like Erin.
This silly girl who was already pregnant, was looking at him in a foreign land, but the man she loved was getting married behind her back.
“Erin, I’m a little bored. Come talk to me for a while.” Sean turned his focus back to the lobster in his hands.
Erin walked up to him and said with a faint smile, “What do you want to talk about?”
Pretending to be relaxed, Sean said, “Let’s talk about you and Chandler. You said his grandfather and father still haven’t accepted you. What if they just keep refusing to accept you? What are you going to do?”
This was a tricky question that Erin had been trying to avoid.
Her expression became a little unnatural and her smile gradually faded.
After giving it a thought, she said seriously. “If they don’t accept me, even after I’ve given birth to my child, I’ll just wait. I won’t stop waiting until they do.”
Erin’s stubbornness made Sean feel nervous and his chest felt a little heavy. He pretended to be nonchalant about it again and asked, “If Chandler marries another woman, what would you think?”
It was a hypothetical question, but thinking deeply about it still made Erin’s heart ache.
She said calmly. “If he marries another woman, then what am I? His mistress? I won’t let my child be in such a complicated environment. This still hasn’t happened yet, but if it did one day, I’ll choose to leave Chandler.”
It had already happened!
Sean immediately cut his palm with the scissors after hearing what she said. In an instant, blood started gushing out.
“Gosh! How can you be so careless? Hold on. I’ll go look for the first–aid kit in the living room-” Erin rushed out of the kitchen.
The live lobster had already fallen into the glass bowl. Sean put the scissors down and turned on the tap to wash his wound, looking sullen. His wound hurt so badly that he frowned, but his mind was in a complete mess. He fell so conflicted that he gasped.
Two people appeared in his mind. One was himself as Erin’s friend, who wanted to tell her the truth very badly and did not wish for her to be kept in the dark. The other one was him as Chandler’s friend. He desperately wanted to immediately fly back home, barge into his secret wedding held at his home, and punch the crap out of Chandler. However, he could not!
Sean knew Chandler had agreed to his grandfather’s request. He just did not expect that Erin would become Chandler’s mistress.
Sean suddenly realized that he had been secluding himself, turning his back on many things, deliberately distancing himself from the
outside world, and going on a solo trip to mourn the relationship with his lover that he could not bear to let go. However, he realized in the end that when he got in contact with his friends again, something had already become a very difficult problem.
He did not know how to handle this perfectly. It seemed that no matter what he chose, the damage to Erin had already been done.
“Why are you spacing out, Sean? If you keep running your wound under the water like this, it’s going to turn white after getting all soaked up.” Erin turned off the water tap and pulled his arm away.
“Come to the living room. I’ve already opened up the first–aid kit and prepared the gauze and antiseptic!”
Sean was dragged to the living room by her like a puppet.
As soon as they sat down, Erin’s phone rang. She grabbed it from the coffee table and saw that it was Chandler who called. After she

answered the call, she immediately said, “Chandler, hold on. I’ll first lake care of Sean’s wound on his hand. I’ll call you back later—”
“Don’t put down the phone, Erin! Hand it to Sean. I have something important to tell him.” Chandler’s voice was clearly a little anxious and cold.
Erin looked at Sean in a daze. Sean picked up a piece of gauze and pressed it against his wound, then he took her phone from her before walking toward the bathroom.
After he entered the bathroom. he locked the door behind him and said coldly, “Has Hans reported to you already, Chandler? How efficient. Are you anxious because you’re afraid I’ll tell Erin the truth?”
“Sean, how did you know about this?”
Sean burst out laughing, then said with a cold expression, “What a joke! Do you really think nobody will know just because you’ve chosen to get married as inconspicuously as you could? Don’t be so naive. Do you think the Overton family will keep their lips sealed? Their daughter is getting married, not becoming somebody’s mistress. Is there a need for them to hide it? No matter what, I’m part of this social circle. You can fool Erin for now, but can you fool us? I’m guessing Roman, Logan, and Alan still don’t know, right? Chandler, I’m telling you, the truth will come to light sooner or later! Unless you don’t get married, people will know!”
Chandler said with great helplessness, “I have my reasons. I will find a suitable chance to tell Erin, but I hope she doesn’t learn about this from you. If you treat her as your friend, don’t hurt her so easily.”
“Hahah. Chandler, I’ve never expected that there will be a time when you contradict yourself like this. Me hurting her? You’re too funny! The person who’s really hurting her is you! I’ve asked Erin a hypothetical question just now, and I dare to confirm she won’t accept the humiliating position of a mistress. I’ve once misjudged her, and you’re also misjudging her now. She’s not the kind of woman that you can bribe with money! I’ll see how you’re going to resolve this!”
What he said made Chandler’s expression turn cold, and the latter was at a loss for words.
Hearing no response from Chandler, Sean glanced at his palm and said, “I’m going to go. I have to take care of my wound! I won’t say
anything about your business for now. But I’m only giving you a week! By then, if you still haven’t told her, I’ll tell her! As her friend, I have
to be fair to her as well!”
Chandler was standing in the bathroom as he was still in the Frost residence at that moment. He turned off the tap, a careful measure he
had taken earlier to prevent people outside the door from overhearing his conversation with Sean.
His mind was so tense that he felt like he was going to have a breakdown. There were more than ten instances when he felt the urge to
leave the Frost residence without caring about everything else, and he did not fucking want to get married anymore!
However, he cared for his family so much deep down. This held him back. Actually, nobody knew how much longer his grandfather could
live.
If Erin loved him, she would only have to wait for him for a few years at best, and he could certainly do away with this joke of an arranged marriage then. He just needed time.
Most importantly, Chandler had agreed to his grandfather’s request so easily back then because Quentin traded a secret with him in exchange for his acceptance of the marriage Gaston had arranged for him.
Chandler rejected Quentin very arrogantly back then. He had guessed that the secret Quentin wanted to tell was that Simon was his half-
brother who shared the same father as him. However, he had already learned about that three years ago.
Because Quentin had never given special care to Simon, there was nothing for Chandler to mind about Andrew–his uncle who had lost
his partner and ability to father a child a long time ago–being Simon’s father.
Simon was a famous lawyer. He did not rely on Chandler at all and would never get involved with the Frost Corporation. After Quentin quit the board of directors, the Frost Corporation would be Chandler’s alone. He could continue playing the role of a cousin to Simon, who had
no clue about the truth.
If Simon was not his brother, Chandler would have given Simon a hard time Just for the fact that he’d once sneaked into Erin’s hotel.
Looking at his brother, who had been adopted by his uncle as a baby, Chandler could not help but pity him. As long as Simon did not cross the line, he could forgive him for many things.
However, this was not the secret that Quentin wanted to trade with him.
Chandler could still remember the scenario at that time. He was so excited he almost told Erin about the secrel.
Quentin told him that his mother did not die giving birth to him, and she was not dead at all. She had been alive this whole time!
Nobody, including Chandler, could be indifferent after learning that their mother was still alive.
He eagerly wanted to know the truth about why she would abandon him. He wanted to ask her in person!
However, he did not wish to show Erin his scars so soon. He did not want to see pity in her eyes Therefore, he chose to keep this a secret.
To put it bluntly, he was still keeping some things from Erin and could not be open to her about everything.
As soon as Chandler opened the bathroom door, he saw Jazzlyn standing not far behind the door.
Her hair was put into an elegant bridal updo. She was a classical beauty.
Her high–quality lace gown made her look exceptionally elegant. The luxurious heels with Swarovski crystals on her feet made everybody know that she was the bride at a glance.
Jazzlyn was a broadcasting major. Looking at the man she fell in love with at first sight back then, she said in a sweet and pleasant voice,” Chandler, it’s time to toast to Grandpa.”
