Chapter 127 Couldn’t Help Myself
Erin was flabbergasted and immediately hung up. Her heart raced as if several hundred deer were trampling away inside her chest. She wasn’t sure who Chandler’s words were directed at.
Right then, Chandler, who had just arrived at the door of Erin’s hotel room, redialed the number from earlier.
Sitting beside the phone, Erin’s heart palpitated when it suddenly rang. She hesitated for a moment but didn’t dare to answer. She guessed that it was probably a call from Chandler.
But she didn’t know what to say to him. Although she really wanted to say the words that weighed on her heart, she felt that she no longer had the right to say them…
“Chandler, I really miss you. Are you doing well?” Erin uttered the words soundlessly.
Tears welled up in her eyes. The unspoken longing was like the air, it was all around her and something she couldn’t escape from. She felt like wallowing in self–pity for a while. But that annoying telephone kept ringing incessantly. With a start, she realized that it might be
Roman calling her for something.
Erin immediately picked up the phone. Before she could say anything. Chandler, suppressing his temper, growled into the phone, “Erin, open the door quickly!”
She hesitantly asked, “Where are you?”
He let out a sigh. “Where do you think I am? Take a wild guess.”
Erin immediately threw the scorching phone receiver aside. Barefooted, she hurriedly walked to the door, and through the peephole, she
saw a man wearing a hat, sunglasses, and a leather mask standing there.
As if he knew what she was doing at that moment, Chandler suddenly took off his sunglasses. His cold black eyes glanced back at the peephole, and Erin’s fragile heart felt as if it had been pierced by an arrow!
The man she missed so much was right at her door. Erin’s hand moved to open the door before her rationality could catch up. As the door opened, she noticed Chandler had a guitar strapped to his shoulder. His tall and prominent figure made him look like a mountain standing
in the middle of the doorway.
Before he entered, he quickly glanced at the corridor, closed the door, and fastened the safety chain. Erin, still wearing her outfit from the day and with traces of tears in her eyes, looked at the man in front of her with an incredulous expression.
She whispered softly. “Why did you come?”
Chandler took off his mask, placed the guitar against the wall, and casually walked into the bedroom. He took off his clothes and tossed them onto the sofa. Then, he picked up the remote control from the desk and adjusted the air conditioning.
“Erin, are you stupid? It’s so hot, and you didn’t even think of lowering the temperature!”
Erin’s gaze couldn’t help but stick to his back. The outlines of the muscles on his back entered her field of vision, and memories of their past intimate activities flashed through her mind. Her face turned as red as a tomato involuntarily.
Hearing no response from Erin, Chandler suddenly turned to look at her. “What’s wrong with you?”
His nonchalant demeanor and lack of consideration ignited the fuse in Erin’s heart somehow. “What’s wrong? What do you mean what’s wrong? Why did you come to find me? Have you conveniently forgotten that you have a fiancée again!”
A trace of helplessness flitted across Chandler’s exquisitely perfect face as he walked toward her,
As he stood in front of her, without waiting for her to step back, he forcefully pulled her waist toward him with one hand and lifted her chin with the other. “You don’t have to keep reminding me about that! I know I have a fiancée.”
Erin’s tears burst forth like a dam. If he didn’t appear in front of her, she could have held back and deceived her brain from thinking about those things. But now, he was right in front of her, holding her tightly. The familiar scent on his body that was mingled with a hint of tobacco and the captivating fragrance of expensive men’s cologne made Erin feel suffocated.
She was surprised by the dirty thoughts that raced through her mind. She wanted to kiss him so much!
All her hidden thoughts seemed to be laid bare before him. Chandler spun her around by her waist and pressed her down. In a deep and
hoarse voice, he whispered, “Do you want me?”
Erin’s lace turned red. She suppressed her primal desire for him and gritted her teeth to keep herself from saying it out loud.
“Erin, I’ve missed you like crazy all this time…”
Erin closed her eyes and struggled. “I don’t want you…”
Chandler coldly snorted. “Saying one thing and meaning another”
Suddenly, he stood up and forcefully pulled her up by her arm, leading her toward the bathroom. Erin’s mind tried its best to process the intense conflicting choices. By the time she realized it, she was already stark naked in Chandler’s embrace.
The warm water washed away her last trace of rationality. If she didn’t like Chandler so much, how could the impulsive devil completely take control of her mind?
About two hours later, Chandler, still unsatisfled, looked mischievously at the petite woman lying in his arms. Her sleeping face, exhausted from the night, was breathtakingly peaceful and beautiful. Her tender skin bore a string of unique red marks left by him, and a strong possessive gaze flashed through Chandler’s dark eyes.
Ten minutes later, he closed his eyes and fell asleep with her.
Early the next morning, just as the day was barely breaking, Erin woke up to Chandler’s gentle kisses raining down on her. As she stirred. she saw herself and him naked and entangled together. Images from last night flooded her mind.
Rationality finally returned to her at long last, and she felt the urgent need to put on some clothes. However, her waist was held by a strong and muscular arm, locking her in place.
“What’s wrong? You’re running away the moment it’s over?” Chandler’s lackadaisical words reached her ears.
Erin bit her lip and was momentarily rendered speechless. She couldn’t blame him entirely for what happened last night. She was equally guilty for being unable to restrain herself too.
She lowered her small face and dared not look at him. “Last night… It was an accident! Let’s forget about it. Leave now.”
Chandler held her chin forcefully, forcing her to tilt her head and look at him. His black eyes were tinged with a hint of coldness. “You heartless little devil! How can you just shove me aside in the blink of an eye?”
*Then what do you want from me? It’s not like you got the losing end.” She didn’t want to be melodramatic about the whole thing.
“How am I not at a disadvantage? I disguised myself and secretly came to see you. Do you think I did it just to sleep with you?” He instantly let go of her, got up, and started getting dressed.
Erin detected a touch of disappointment in his eyes. She asked somewhat anxiously. “Why did you come to Fleuverton City?”
When Chandler put on his jeans and tumed around, he said, “For you, of course,”
“For me?” It’s not that she didn’t believe him; she didn’t dare believe him. Even if it were true, what difference would it make?
Chandler’s engagement banquet wouldn’t be canceled because of her!
Chandler caught the deep sense of loss in her eyes. He helplessly walked to her side and knelt on one knee on the carpet. He held her small hand in his large ones, pressing them tightly together. He asked earnestly, “Do you trust me, Erin?”
Erin hesitated for a moment. Although she knew he had a fiancée, for some reason, Chandler gave her a strong sense of trust. She nodded gently and stared at him unblinkingly.
A hint of joy appeared in Chandler’s dark eyes. He confessed to her, “Since you trust me, I’ll tell you the truth. Alana, who I’m engaged to, is actually my good friend. Our engagement banquet is just a show for our parents. Ever since I’ve been with you, I haven’t been with any other woman.”
Chandler’s focused expression at this moment looked incredibly handsome to Erin. Her heart was filled with excitement, and she cautiously asked, “Is that true?”
His deep eyes were like obsidians in the dark night, captivating and dazzling. Chandler said solemnly. “You can choose to believe or not belleve me. The choice is yours.”
