Erin wasn’t sure if she should cry or laugh at Sean’s incredulity upon receiving her call. She teased, “Are you, the esteemed president of Truffleberry Media, really so surprised to get a call from me?”
Sean responded seriously, “Yes!”
“Why, though?” She was genuinely curious now.
Sean picked up his phone and walked to the window wall. Looking at the sunny day outside, he remembered the smile on Erin’s face and felt a subtle sense of comfort in his heart.
He chuckled lightly. “Because you’re Erin.”
His answer puzzled her, and after thinking for a few seconds, she decided not to dwell on it. Erin returned to the main topic and asked, ” Didn’t you say that I should treat you to a meal before I left?”
Hearing no response from his end, she didn’t feel comfortable bringing up May’s matter.
Upon hearing her mention the meal invitation, Sean felt a hint of surprise, accompanied by a wave of delight. He asked bluntly, “Do you
miss me?”
After falling speechless for a second, Erin denied it. “Mr. Dunn, please don’t joke with me.”
But Sean suddenly spoke seriously. “Don’t call me Mr. Dunn. Your boss is Roman, and I’m just a collaborative partner to him.”
“If that’s the case, how should I address you?” Calling him “Mr. Dunn” felt awkward to her as well.
“Just call me Sean. We’re not strangers who barely know each other.”
The inexplicable tenderness in his tone made Erin’s ears tingle. She could almost imagine how captivating Sean’s flirtatious eyes were at that moment. If she were a young girl experiencing the blossoming of a first love, she would definitely be infatuated with him. Unfortunately, she was a divorced woman. After listening to her, Sean relaxed and said, “It’s a small matter. You can go with Roman to Fleuverton City tomorrow. I will have someone investigate your cousin’s situation. Once there’s any news, I’ll call you. Does that sound good to you?”
Erin quickly nodded. “Yes, of course! Thank you so much. I’m so shameless. I haven’t even treated you to a meal for helping me with the job introduction, and now I’m asking for your help again…
Sean beamed widely, looking pleased. “I’m glad you came to me for help. It shows that you consider me a friend. Thank you for trusting. me. I thought I was completely blacklisted after that incident in the car when I paid for us to get a room.
Upon mentioning that incident, Erin burst into laughter, “I guess you were given a lesson for the first time back then, right? After all, with your appearance, there shouldn’t be any women rejecting you.”

He chuckled softly, “Okay, I’ll keep track of it. Remember to repay me.”

“Great, let’s keep in touch.” After Sean hung up, he opened the photo album on his phone and found a picture of Erin.
It was the candid photo he took of her when he passed by the Frost Building. Although it was just a shot of her side profile, he found it oddly captivating, so much so that he found it hard to move his eyes away from her.
Now that Erin was starting to consider him a friend, it was a good beginning. What he wanted was to continue being her friend. He had encountered all kinds of women. However, he’d misjudged Erin when he thought she was a gold digger. He couldn’t allow himself to make that mistake again.
She could let go of even someone like Chandler, who considered was a top bachelor and highly sought after. She was truly unconventional compared to most modern women.

Sean put his phone back into his suit pocket, and his eyes held a hint of anticipation. The smile at the corner of his mouth seemed to hold profound meaning. Erin was busy preparing for her trip to Fleuverton City the whole afternoon.
She’d already made a call to thank Louis and even proactively suggested sending a promissory note through express delivery to Aunder. Of course, Louis said it wasn’t necessary. However, she insisted on sending it, so Louis went along with her.

After dinner, the delivery guy came to collect the item that she wanted to send oul. Erin passed the sealed envelope to him upon opening the door. Then, she closed her door after paying the fees and signing the delivery invoice.
She’d looked up the standardized format for promissory notes online, printed it out, filled in the amount, and signed her name. If everything went smoothly, Louis would receive the promissory note she sent tomorrow in Aunder.
Right then, Erin felt tired. She decided that she would take a shower first.
Just then, she heard a notification tone come from her phone. She unlocked her phone and found that she’d received an anonymous email.
There were no words in the email, only three videos attached with different timestamps. If the videos hadn’t been labeled ‘lan and Tracy.” she would have deleted them without watching. There was a high chance for fishy videos like these to contain viruses.
Erin furrowed her brows slightly but ultimately decided to watch the videos. The videos buffered and started playing…
She closed the first one after only a few seconds, then she watched the second and third ones, unamnused. Before long, she closed all of
them.
She immediately deleted the anonymous email and turned to enter the bathroom for a shower.
Although she wasn’t sure if Tracy sent her the email or what the sender’s intentions were, it didn’t matter to her anymore.
And that was because she no longer loved lan! Hence, lan and Tracy’s videos couldn’t hurt her anymore.
Even if lan had, at that time, still have thoughts of reconciling with her while secretly fooling around with Tracy, it didn’t concern Erin anymore since they were already divorced. Ian could have relationships with anyone under the sun, and it had nothing to do with her.
