“Whoa! That’s seriously something!” The guys were wide–eyed in amazement.
Which class is she from? How come I haven’t seen her before?”
“We’re heading to get some food. Excuse us…” Emily barely got the words out before the bustling crowd miraculously cleared a path for them.
Mia checked out the parting crowd, then, under everyone’s watchful eyes, strolled towards the
counter.
This was Emily’s first taste of such treatment in the cafeteria, and she quickly trotted beside Mia. soaking in the glory with a radiant smile.
“You’ve got some serious clout.” Emily whispered to Mia.
Eyeing the scene from behind, Stella muttered enviously, “Above–average Class is getting embarrassed. Mia is being such an attention whore even during lunch.”
“I don’t think it’s embarrassing for Above–average Class, Olivia chimed in unexpectedly.
“What do you know!” Stella shot her a discontented glare.
After grabbing their meals, the two found a spot to sit. The eyes of onlookers continued to linger on Mia, with many thinking about approaching her.
Out of the blue, a guy with a tray took a seat across from Mia, who just kept eating without raising her head, and Emily ignored him completely.
The guy hesitated for a moment, contemplating asking Mia for her name. In the next second, two figures overshadowed him. Looking up, he realized that it was Reed from Above–average Class. He promptly stood up, making room for him. “Reed, go ahead, have a seat.”
Reed sat down contentedly, casting an admiring glance at Mia.
Seeing Reed settling in across from her, Emily felt a twinge of panic. Whenever he showed up in the cafeteria, it was never for a good reason. Last time, it was because of a girl from another class. Who was his target today?
Then she whispered to Mia, “The guy in front of you is Mr. Brown’s grandson. He’s notorious as the school bully. To avoid any collateral damage, let’s scarf down our food and get out of here.”
Mia seemed to shrug off Emily’s words and continued eating. Emily, feeling Reed’s gaze on her. didn’t dare to keep chattering and quickly lowered her head.
Noticing that Mia had no intention of looking up, Reed had to make the first move. “I fell for you at first sight. Be my girlfriend.”
“You’re not worthy.” Mia didn’t even glance at him as she spoke.
As soon as this declaration escaped her lips, Reed’s face went ashen, and the cafeteria fell silent. No girl had ever publicly rejected him before. Mia was the first.
Public rejection was a slap in the face for Reed. Rage surged within him. He angrily knocked down the tray in front of Mia.
Think you’re special? Daring to challenge me on your first day here! You aiming to get kicked out of school?” Reed’s frustration morphed into rage.
“I asked you to be my girlfriend because you’re pretty. Don’t act all high and mighty!” Infuriated, he pointed at Mia and scolded her.
Having never been scolded like this, Mia raised her head and shot him a cold look.

“Really? Let’s see what you’re capable of. After saying this, Mia stood up and walked towards the exit.
In an instant, a few of Reed’s minions surrounded Mia. The atmosphere froze as if a brawl was about to erupt any second.
Mia collly eyed the group, asking. “Think you can stop me?”
Seeing her unyielding posture, Reed waved his hand, and the group rushed at her.
At the critical moment, a loud shout silenced everyone.
Mr. Brown walked in, and the boys surrounding Min quickly retreated behind Reed.
Displeased. Mr. Brown scanned the unruly boys. He then looked at Reed, holding his stomach. already understanding the situation.
“This is bad! That hottie kicked Reed. She’s definitely getting expelled.”
“What a shame! Being attractive is also a crime…
Just as people around were discussing it. Mr. Brown focused his gaze on Mia. Everyone thought that he would reprimand her severely and possibly expel her.
To everyone’s surprise, he said gently, “Mia, are you okay?”
Mia looked at him, replying, “I’m fine.”
“You brat, usually you’re a worthless student, and now you dare to bully a girl in a group!
“You, come over here and apologize to Mia!” Mr. Brown scolded him sternly.
The students watching on were dumbfounded, not understanding Mr. Brown’s unexpected move.
“What’s going on? Does Mr. Brown know her?”
“Didn’t you hear him? He called her Mia. Could she be the top student in the whole school? Otherwise, why would he know her?”
“You’re right. Apart from the Mia who’s first in the whole school, I haven’t heard of anyone else. named Mia.” Students speculated on the sidelines.
Bewildered by the sudden scolding. Reed was still trying to understand why his grandfather was siding with an outsider and even asking him to apologize. It was simply unbelievable!
