Chapter 44 Thank You for Trusting Me
Orange Media was free.
The person in charge of Orange Entertainment was being sarcastic, “I know you have money, but Orange Media is not a beggar either. Here’s what I’ll do, I’ll make a list of requirements for you to consider. If it works for you, we can discuss further, if not, then forget about it…”
After a while, the supervisors of each department at Flourish Media received this long list.
Ab bie exploded first.
“We have been organizing the authoritative data of the financial rankings for the first half of the year for a month now, and Orange Media wants it as soon as they open their mouth?”
The sports side also started clamoring, “Haha, want a solo interview with Williams? Dream on! We had to pull some strings to sna tch this opportunity!”
“This is way off the mark,” the editor-in-chief of the social section chuckled as he read aloud. “Our reporter risked their life for this story, and now Orange Media wants a joint byline?”
The social department had a major incident last month. A journalist who had been undercover in a hidden industry at the bottom of society for a long time was discovered and tried to escape. However, he was hit by a car on the way and was taken to the hospital with only a breath left, still tightly holding a data disk in his hand.
Flourish Media published the manuscript under various pressures, causing a significant social response.
Although the final draft was determined by other colleagues in the department, nobody had the audacity to sign their own name on it.
As soon as Orange Media arrived, they demanded a joint signature and insisted on being ranked first.
Orange Media doesn’t want the credit, Orange Media wants Flourish Media’s face!
But for these excessive demands, Darrin surprisingly did not refuse without thinking: “Tell them I will consider it and get back to them later.”
He walked out of the compartment, followed closely by Ab bie.
The door of the private room was quietly opened a cr ack…
If it were another company, when the leader got into a fight outside, none of the colleagues would feel comfortable enough to pry into the
matter.
But for journalists, who cares about a little face?
The door was pulled open a little, then pulled open a little more… Ab bie’s voice came through, word for word.
“Darrin, Flourish Media is not just yours! If you really love that Rose, you can give her all the wealth and riches, but please don’t ruin the company that so many of us have worked so hard to build for her!”
“Ab bie, do you have any evidence to support your words?” Darrin asked in response.
“What more evidence do you need? How did she receive the top prize back then? She had just graduated and you offered her a job, but now she can’t find work elsewhere, and you still want to pick her up like picking up trash!”
Darrin kept calling Ab bie “Ab bie ” repeatedly, completely shattering her sanity.
She was also a pampered person, like a precious pearl, who was cherished and grew up.
So proud and arrogant, yet followed him diligently for so many years.
But he couldn’t see her radiance, he only liked the kind of white lotus flower that Rose was.
What did Darrin say? Rose has known him since childhood, how does she not know?
She was his dance partner at his elementary school graduation dance. She accompanied him to the outskirts to catch butterflies, as he enjoyed collecting specimens. He had never heard of anyone named Rose!
Childhood sweethearts, they were inseparable and trusted each other completely. Little did they know that one day he would turn into a scu mbag.
“You told me…” Ab bie burst into tears, “Is she the woman? The one you mentioned after that celebration dinner?”
Darrin frowned deeply, “Manager Li, calm down, do you… need to take a year off?”
Ab bie wiped away her tears, knowing that she had become a laughingstock among her colleagues.
The calmer Darrin behaved, the more it highlighted how unbearable
she was.
Over the years, the competitiveness of media professionals forced her to suppress her emotions.
“Okay, let’s go back to the matter of Orange Media. Currently, Orange Media holds evidence of her failed attempt to seduce Hector, and they want you to exchange it for a lot of resources in order to humiliate Flourish Media. The relationship between Orange Media and Flourish Media, I don’t need to elaborate on.”
“Darrin, I ask you, by firing Rose now, can we solve all the problems? Do you want to fire her or waste the efforts of all our departments?”
She pointed her finger at the half-open door of the KTV private room and said, “All the supervisors are inside listening now. You tell them about your choice as the editor-in-chief!”
Darrin looked at Ab bie’s face, bright and stubborn.
He sighed softly, “Ab bie, why are you so convinced that the evidence in Orange Media’s hands was real?”
Ab bie was taken aback, and Darrin immediately continued, “Why do you assume that Rose is the kind of person who would go to such lengths just to interview a Hector?”
He sneered.
In this world, any journalist could have done such a thing.
But Rose couldn’t.
A small star, she didn’t deserve to bother with such thoughts.
“Are you saying that Rose couldn’t have seduced Hector?” Ab bie said, jealousy burning in her. “You want to prove her innocence? Ha! But we don’t even know what evidence Orange Media has. From which angle are you going to save her?”
For the sake of a Rose, he had such patience and was willing to endure so much hardship!
“Yeah, we didn’t even know what the evidence was, why was it already assumed to be true? Or is it Ab bie…” Darrin’s gaze turned cold. “You know something…”
A chill ran up Ab bie’s back.
She was too excited…
She was so excited that she forgot that Darrin was also from Rayvale Communication University, and his abilities were far superior to hers.
His insight, intuition, and logic were far superior to hers.
“I, I was too impulsive,” Ab bie voluntarily backed down, but she immediately turned the tables, “But if Orange Media doesn’t have solid evidence, how could they make such bold claims? If they dare to do so, aren’t they afraid of Rose counter-suing them for defamation?”
As soon as Ab bie finished speaking, a soft and gentle voice, like a cloud, came from the door of the private room.
“Because, they thought that I no longer had any information about Hector…”
***
Rose stood at the door of the private room, wearing a smile and looking kindly at Ab bie, who suddenly turned around.
She was clearly laughing, laughing so gently.
But Ab bie just felt that her back was freezing, one section after another.
“Ab bie, don’t worry. If Orange Media can confirm that I did indeed attempt to seduce Hector, then I will resign on my own, without causing any trouble for Flourish Media.”
Rose walked over and looked at Darrin again. “Senior brother, thank you for your trust, and please do not accept Orange Media’s blackmail. I caused this trouble myself, so I will handle it on my own. I had a great time team building today, thank you everyone. I’m leaving now.”
Hector would fight back and seek revenge.
Hector’s first love had already informed Rose this afternoon.
She had been waiting all along.
Judson was right, you didn’t know where the traps were, the only thing you could do was to stay alert at all times.
Although he treated her harshly emotionally, he also taught her a lot.
“Do you still have Hector’s information in your hands?” Ab bie couldn’t help but ask, watching Rose’s figure disappear.
Rose turned around and gave Ab bie a bright and dazzling smile. “No, it’s gone. But what hasn’t been done, hasn’t been done, right? As journalists, we all know that spreading rumors comes at a low cost, but we also know that pursuing the truth is our professional creed. Just like justice, the truth may be delayed, but it will never be absent.”
Darrin did not go after Rose.
He turned around and glanced at Ab bie, saying a sentence that made her heart sk ip a beat, “Tonight, within our private room for team building, there is a mole.”
