Chapter 42 Falling Out of Love Naturally Leads to
Disgust
When Rose came to the Roawards Group to find Lillian, Keenan was also there.
He remained completely detached throughout the entire process.
But that doesn’t mean he didn’t see anything.
“Butterfly brooch…” Judson turned his head and rubbed his brow bone. “Who do you think was lying?”
Rose insisted that Lillian had stolen her brooch, but Lillian vehemently denied it.
“I can’t tell,” Keenan said, not easily drawing conclusions, “Ms. Edwards seemed genuinely angry, and Ms. Stewart also appeared genuinely aggrieved.”
If any of them lied, they were truly skilled actors.
“It was also possible that they were not lying,” Keenan proposed another explanation, “but rather there was some misunderstanding?”
If it was a misunderstanding, only by finding out the truth can it be resolved.
“Let Isidro go and check…” Judson just gave the order, then changed his mind, “Noo, you go check.”
Keenan paused for a few seconds.
Did Judson decide to let him get involved in his personal matters?
Keenan has been following Judson for several years and considers himself close to his heart, but he is far from being as trusted as Isidro.
Judson was very cautious and reluctant to let others get involved in his life.
For many years, Keenan diligently stayed within the confines of the living room in Imperial Garden, without venturing beyond.
“I will investigate it seriously,” he promised.
“Well,” Judson absentmindedly brought up another matter, “since they were all gifts from me, why did she treat one as a treasure and ignore the other?”
He spoke and took out a dragonfly brooch with colorful diamonds.
Keenan was in a dilemma.
This question is beyond the scope.
Did Judson want to hear the truth?
I used to cherish it because of love, but now I despise it naturally because I don’t love it anymore.
It was hard for Keenan to imagine that Judson couldn’t comprehend such a simple truth.
Of course, Keenan wasn’t that foolish.
He pondered for a while and put forward a bold hypothesis, “Perhaps, one of them holds some special significance to her, occupying a very important place in her heart, and she doesn’t want anything else, no matter how good it may be?”
Judson pondered for a moment, and finally nodded slightly.
Keenan was spared.
Keenan cautiously glanced at Judson beside him and discreetly wiped. the sweat off his forehead.
He understood why Isidro always had a fearful and nervous look on his face.
Can he survive if he keeps answering these life-threatening questions. every day?

Judson moved his stiff neck a bit and his expression relaxed.
So that’s how it was…
When Rose was in her teens, the auction house sent a notice catalog to the Roach family.
Judson discovered that she had seen it, and took advantage of the opportunity to secretly tear out one of the pages.
He had been quietly keeping an eye on her movements all along. Sure enough, on the day of the auction, she secretly went to the auction house.
It was just a small jewelry auction. What Rose was interested in was an exquisitely crafted butterfly brooch.
But she didn’t bring enough money, so she could only watch helplessly as another wealthy lady sna tched away the brooch.
Judson took note of the wealthy lady’s license plate number and later discovered her identity. He went to her house, persistently pursued her, used both gentle persuasion and forceful tactics, and finally fabricated a highly unreliable story in order to obtain the items.
The moment the brooch was thrown to Rose, she was completely stunned.
In the blink of an eye, the eyes were filled with stars. Looking into Judson’s eyes, it was as if she was looking at a deity.

Later, he had also given her many things, and she would also be grateful, happy, and smile.
But Judson could no longer see such brilliance in her eyes.
Perhaps, what she wanted for the first time was the most precious.
Judson’s lips curled slightly, and he felt an inexplicable joy. As soon as he arrived at the airport, he had already assigned Keenan a new task, “Find out the origin of this thing. Also, who still has it domestically.”
Keenan picked up the phone.
Mr. Roach sent a picture to him.
Above the picture, there was a delicate and small butterfly brooch.

Rose was late after all.
During dinner, everything was peaceful. However, when we went to sing karaoke at night, we were unexpectedly teased and forced to drink three large glasses of alcohol as a punishment.
Rose asked everyone to please be lenient. She had always been the obedient daughter of the Roach family, except for the wine tasting
class, where she never touched a drop of alcohol.
She always followed Mrs. Roach’s teachings.
“The only way for a girl to not get drunk when she is out is to not drink alcohol.”
“If you don’t know how to drink, you can choose not to drink. Otherwise, once you take a sip, there’s no way to refuse the rest.”
Later, Judson also told her that when he was socializing for business outside, he would control himself and try to drink as little as possible.
“Alcohol would numb your nerves and impair your judgment. You wouldn’t know where the traps are, the only way to avoid them is to stay sober at all times.”
Although he said so, sometimes he would return to Imperial Garden with a strong smell of alcohol.
“Some are indeed irresistible. You take a sip, and everyone will come to toast.” He used personal experience to confirm Mrs. Roach’s correctness.
“Keenan didn’t drink alcohol, he would keep an eye on me, having someone relatively trustworthy by my side to stay sober, it would be better.”
“Isidro would also help me fend off alcohol.”
Rose had never told anyone that she liked the slightly tipsy Judson.
Alcohol made him become gentle, and his usually tense expression also relaxed a lot.
Sometimes I would talk to her a few more words, and sometimes I would even smile at her.
Bringing a little new hope to her boring and restless life…
Now she has left, and there is no one she can trust by her side.
Rose waved her hand and said, “I will treat everyone to milk tea another day. I have never drunk alcohol outside, and I don’t know how to at all.”
“Everything has a first time, and when it comes to drinking alcohol, you just get used to it,” but my colleagues persistently insisted.
“Rose, this won’t do. In the future, when you go out to cover news and socialize, drinking is a necessary skill. If you don’t practice now, you will be at a disadvantage when you go out.”
“Come, come, come. The drinks are all set for you. Let’s have a grand opening.”
Rose was finding it difficult to refuse.
Someone suddenly bent down and picked up the drink on the table, then drank it all in one gulp.
The whole place was silent.
The lively atmosphere in the private room faded away completely.
Everyone looked silently at Darrin, who sprouted up like bamboo shoots after the rain.
He looked at her silently and picked up the three glasses of wine placed in front of Rose one by one, drinking every drop without leaving any.
In the end, he put down the last empty wine glass, scanned the surroundings in a circle, and said lightly, “Bring me the rest, I’ll drink them all together.”
No one dared to respond, and everyone hung their heads like frost- bitten eggplants.
Darrin had a cold face.
These people, when asked to run a news story for them, were either extremely enthusiastic or completely opposed.
Here, the younger generation who are just starting out are quite impressive!
“Boss, what are you doing here?” Lakisha, who was always brave, asked with a cheerful smile, while the other team editors looked wilted.
“We also had a team building activity today, right next door,” Darrin replied. “I just saw you guys coming in here a moment ago, so I came over to say hello.”
After finishing speaking, he nodded to Rose and politely asked everyone to enjoy themselves, then he left.
Everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
The look in Rose’s eyes was somewhat indescribable.
Darrin was so blatantly protecting…
Although everyone made fun of and mocked each other in private, who said it wasn’t just sour grapes?
Sang a few songs and played a few ice-breaking games.
Rose went to the restroom halfway and encountered Tommie at the sink.
“Rose,” Tommie, one of the few colleagues who had always held good
intentions towards Rose during this period, said, “You’re amazing.
How did you manage to dig up so much information on Hector?”
Rose’s hands were covered in foam as she smiled and said, “You swing the h oe so well.”
Tommie glanced at the mirror… In the mirror, Rose had a small, beautiful face with rosy lips and long, black hair gently cascading down her shoulders, like a mischievous little girl unaffected by the world.
He quickly averted his eyes, washing his hands while casually asking, “Does Rose have any other information about Hector?”
