Chapter 20
When Sienna finally snapped back to reality, she still couldn’t fathom how
their escaping plan had turned into a “going abroad” route.
They got to ticket counter, the airline representative checked their
information and smiled, “Miss Alinsky, your passport has expired.”
“What a coincidence…” Sienna doubted. She took Celeste’s passport and
discovered it had expired last month.
Going abroad was a no–go, but they could travel to another city.
They rethought their route. Celeste was checking the google map, “Sienna,
do you remember our graduation trip?”
Sienna reminisced, “I sure do. Back then, we were all set to head out west.
But then, because you didn’t check in with Kendric ahead, we got nabbed by
him at the airport that day.”
She sighed with regret, “and our graduation trip totally bit the dust.”
When they graduated from college, Celeste and Sienna had schemed for
months to have a carefree graduation trip.
For this trip, Celeste saved up money in secret for a long time. Then she
sneakily renewed her expired identification. She bought tickets, booked a hotel,
and everything seemed to be going smoothly. But when she was all set to leave
the next/day, she got nabbed by Kendric at the airport.
She couldn’t wrap her head around what had gone wrong. On the way back,
she was dying to ask Kendric how he knew she was planning a trip. When they
finally got back home, she couldn’t hold back and asked him.

Kendric held her tightly in arms and nibbled her earlobe.
“No matter what you do, I know it all.”
This freaked Celeste out, and she thought Kendric had someone tailing her,
so she kept her nose clean for a good while.
It was only after a long time that Kendric spilled the beans that the credit
card she used was already linked to his identity info. He knew exactly what
every withdrawal from that card was for.
When Celeste booked the flight ticket and the hotel, Kendric was keeping
tabs on her in the corner. He smirked when watching her nervous expression.
Then at the airport, he jumped out suddenly like a cat to grab the runaway
mouse. He gave her a good scare and made sure she wouldn’t dare to venture
out casually again.
Sienna couldn’t shake off lingering fear brought by that incident and asked
with a hint of anxiety, “you sure we won’t get caught again this time?”
Celeste glanced at the plane ticket, “we won’t.”
“Huh?”
“I paid for the tickets in cash.”
BRE Sienna gave her a thumbs up and chuckled, “hey, that is, where there’s a
will, there’s a way!”

“Then we still have a long way to go.”
The flight was at a quarter past six in the afternoon, so there’s some time to

Celeste’s current mood is very chaotic. From the moment she decided to
escape to now, it’s only been three hours in total. After the inner impulse receded like a tide, those worries and anxieties remained bare on the beach,
and she couldn’t ignore them.
She bit her finger and remained silent. Celeste has always had a bad habit,

trip.”
Sienna comforted her, “don’t be too nervous. Just consider it a relaxation
Celeste shot a meaningful glance at Sienna, then brought her own carry–on
luggage over.
“Open it and take a look,” she said.
Sienna was quite puzzled, “what’s wrong? Did you leave something
behind?”
Celeste squatted down and zipped open the luggage, then showed the things
inside to Sienna.
Sienna didn’t grasp her meaning at first. But when her gaze fell on the
luggage and she examined it for a moment, she widened her eyes and
tentatively asked, “you… don’t plan to come back?”
Celeste gave an honest nod. The luggage was packed a few days ago and
contained all her identification documents, cards and cash, driver’s license, and
necessary personal items. Surprisingly, there were very few clothes in such a
large suitcase.
Sienna mumbled, “I… I really thought you were just going to relax

yourself.”
The thought that Celeste might not return to this city hit Sienna, and her
eyes began to moist.
Celeste handed Sienna’s ticket back to her, “you can’t come with me. If
Melville family is really mad at my runaway, it won’t be safe for you to stay
with me.”
“I’m
Sienna gazed at Celeste with pleading eyes. For eight years, they had never
really been separated. Her eyes were red, and she said with determination,
not scared. My family might not be all–powerful, but we can still protect a girl
like you.
Sienna reached for her phone, ready to make calls to her father or brother.
“I’m calling my dad and my brother. They’ll definitely figure out how to
keep you safe.”
Celeste shook her head. Initially, she had a simple plan, to go abroad and be
free from the influence of Melville family. But now, with her passport expired,
she had to change her plans and stay in the country.
However, in this case, it was only a matter of time before Kendric would
find her.
She stopped Sienna from calling, “Sienna, thank you. But have you
considered what it means to involve your father and brother in this matter?
You’re my best friend, and I definitely won’t let you or your family get into
trouble for me.”
Beside, troubling them with this matter would make Celeste feel ashamed.

Sienna whispered, “is the situation really that bad?”
Celeste nodded, “yesterday, Kendric came to see me. He said he’d come to
take me back to Melville family in three days.”
“But this time, I truly don’t wanna step into that hell place,” her voice
betrayed her weariness.
