Eddy looked at Jude sadly. “Grandpa, are you-”
Jude saniled and said to Eddy, “Eddy, I was wrong for constantly pressuring you to marry Caroline.
It ruined the relationship between the two of you.
“I’ve thought about things recently, and I shouldn’t have interfered with your relationship. Don’t
worry. I’ll agree to whoever you want to marry from now on.”
After a pause, Jude continued, “By the way, weren’t you considering getting married to Layla? I’ve
thought about it too. You’re already a grownup, so it’s time to start a family.”
Eddy’s spoon fell to the ground. He quickly bent down to pick it up.
After a long while, he raised his head from under the table and asked in disbelief, “Ahem.
Grandpa, are you for real?”
Jude said with a smile, “Of course.”
Eddy coughed more violently.
Jude pretended not to notice anything and asked, “What’s wrong, Eddy? Are you that happy? I was
wrong before. I promise I won’t make the same mistake again.”
Eddy coughed even more. He couldn’t say anything at all. Then, he went on with his meal, feeling
depressed.
After dinner, Caroline helped clean up. Afterward, she said, “I’ll be heading home, Grandpa.”

“Okay.” Jude stood up and said, “If it were before, I would’ve asked Eddy to take you home. But
now, I won’t make him do that anymore.
“I’ll ask the driver to do it instead. Carrie, I’m not being inhospitable, am I?”
His question amused Caroline. She said merrily, “Of course not.”
As long as Jude wasn’t forcing her and Eddy to be together anymore, she would be happy even if
she had to walk home alone.
Eddy interjected coldly, “Grandpa, I’ll take her home.”
Jude looked at Eddy with a raised brow. He said, “You don’t have to force yourself, Eddy.”

Caroline didn’t want Eddy to send her home. “He’s right, Mr. Eddy. I can just go home by myself.
“Don-” Eddy held back his anger in front of Jude and didn’t finish his sentence.
Instead, he took his keys and spat, “Let’s go!”
Caroline glanced at him and then at Jude. Jude smiled and looked at Caroline helplessly. Caroline
had no choice but to follow Eddy.
After Eddy and Caroline left, Simon couldn’t wait to speak up.
“Sir, you’ve made a good move. Last time, Mr. Eddy used to be more resistant to your methods, but
now he’s more willing to do it.”
Jude scoffed. “That fool clearly likes Caroline, but he keeps insisting that he doesn’t. If he doesn’t
realize his feelings, he’ll suffer for it eventually.”
Simon said with a smile, “It definitely isn’t too late for him. But, sir, there’s still something I don’t
understand. Will you enlighten me?”
“Go ahead.”
“Do you want to meet Caroline’s husband because you still suspect Mr. Kirk? In that case, why not
just use his photo or another way to validate your suspicions?
“There’s no need to go through this much trouble to meet him in person.”
Jude sat down with a smile.
He said, “Actually, after talking to Caroline just now, I don’t think Kirk is her husband. But I still
have to meet him in person. Only by meeting him in person can I rest assured.
“As for your other question, I’m sure you know I don’t have any photos of Kirk, I know there are
other methods to find the truth, but it’s better to confirm things with my own eyes. ”
Then, he continued, “But you did remind me that getting a photo of Kirk is necessary. Go and look
for one, and make sure to do it in secret.”
“Yes, sir,” Simon agreed. Then, he left.
