When the doctor arrived, Mira was in the bathroom washing her clothes, looking disgusted.
Hugh was lying in the bed looking pale.
Thinking of the situation reported by the carer just now, the doctor asked helplessly, “Mr. Leopold, should we inform your parents?”
Hugh shook his head weakly at the image of Taryn and Brenden, who were in their 60s with grey hair, rushing over. The doctor sighed, “I don’t think you should continue to hurt each other. After all, both of you are adults.”
“Doctor, I’m 20 years old, and I’m still a student,” Mira said, poking her tearful face out of the bathroom.
The doctor even thought that she was still a teenage girl.

“I’m 22,” Mira scratched the door frame of the bathroom and said honestly.
Hugh breathed a sigh of relief. It was also a young age, but at least it was better than 20. “Then why did you lie to the doctor?”
“Well… It’s easier to understand when younger people do childish things.” She blinked. “Unlike you, who is still brazen at such an old age.”
“Mira…” Hugh was about to flare up again.
“Mrs. Leopold…” The carer glanced at Mira nervously. “Maybe you shouldn’t anger him again.”

Mira nodded. “Hugh, you’re a patient after all. Can we settle for a while? I know you don’t like me, and vice versa, but you just won’t believe me. I swear that I married you for nothing but the 33 million dollars.”
Hugh took a deep breath, calmed down, and stared at the woman in front of him.

Seeing that he was silent, Mira continued, “Logically speaking, you and I should work together. After all, we have the same goal, which is to divorce.”
Hugh agreed, so he nodded. He said, “What do you have in mind then?”
“I think… Since your dad is the one saying no to our divorce, I have to make him hate me,” Mira analyzed. “We’re in the hospital now, and there’s no way to see your dad, so I figure that I’ll try to make him hate me after you get better, we move back to the Leopold’s home, and I get to spend time with him every day.“”
“With your personality, he’ll hate you without you trying,” Hugh said.
Mira was speechless for a second.

Hugh narrowed his eyes. As if he knew what she was going to say, he parted his thin lips slightly and said, “None of your business.”
“I think you may be only 18,” Mira smiled.
“This is your attitude of wanting to reconcile with me?” Hugh looked at her with cold eyes.
Mira wanted to say, “I don’t see you wanting to reconcile with me at all.”
Yet on second thought, she said nothing. If she pissed him off so much that he fell sick again, the Leopold family would probably bury her together with him.
She decided to let go.
She then went back to the lounge.

For the next few days, she and Hugh did not speak and tried their best to avoid seeing each other. Finally, it was time for Hugh to be discharged.
Lucas took them back to the Leopold’s home.
Thinking that she had to live under the same roof as Brenden, Taryn, Brady, and Sylvia, Mira had a headache.
At first, she planned on becoming a widow and leaving the Leopold’s home, and then she would have nothing to do
with the Leopold family.
Yet everything was moving towards an unpredictable future.
“Remember what you said.” Hugh, who was next to her, glanced at her suddenly.
“What?” She failed to react.
Hugh’s expression changed slightly. “Have you forgotten what you said? You said you’d find a way to make my dad hate you!”
She blinked. “But didn’t you say your dad would hate me even if I did nothing?”
Hugh frowned, looking gloomy.
It had been days, and she still held a grudge.
“Mira, I hope you mean what you say.”
He took a deep breath and then said slowly, “I don’t love you at all. Even if you want to be glued to me, I won’t give a damn about you. If you’re thinking of inheriting my money after I die, I’m sorry, I’d rather give it to some foundation before leaving you with even just a dime.”
“Is there something wrong with all the rich people? Do you feel like you’re attractive to anyone, and no one can say no to you?”
Mira couldn’t help but mutter.
The car was quiet, and Lucas, who was driving, almost burst out laughing again.
He thought, “After a few days of short time together, I find Mrs. Leopold has a sharp mouth indeed.
“See? From the rearview mirror, I can see that Mr. Leopold has pulled a long face again.
“Ever since he met Mrs. Leopold, his face has always looked like that”
The car arrived at the Leopold’s place.
Brenden, Taryn, and Sylvia had been waiting for a long time.
“Finally! You’re discharged safely, Hugh.”
Taryn clutched Hugh’s hand with red eyes. “How are you? You’re not feeling unwell, are you?”
“My chest hurts,” Hugh said, looking in pain.
Taryn was worried. “How so? Have you told the doctor?”
“It’s not physical, Mom.” Hugh glanced at the woman behind him. “It happens every time I see someone.”
Taryn was speechless.
“I would feel the same if I was forced to be with someone I didn’t like all day long,” Sylvia said sarcastically.
Brenden glared at her
Mira walked forward and said senously, “Dad, Hugh and I have no feelings for each other. I agreed to marry him
because i didn’t want to offend the Leopold family. Now that Hugh is out of danger, I don’t think it’s necessary for me to live with him any longer.”
Brenden was very satisfied. “You are a good girl for being honest. I like you. There’s no way I’ll say yes to Hugh letting you go. Stay with us, and if Hugh has any objection, he can leave as he wants.”
Hugh was stunned.
He gave Mira a glare as if he was about to tear her apart.
Mira shivered. Making Brenden like her more wasn’t what she wanted. “Dad, I…”
“Enough. After all those days in the hospital, come in and eat.”
Brenden waved his hand and motioned for the maid to carry their luggage into the room.
Sitting in the dining room, Hugh put his cold, thin lips close. to Mira’s ear. “You’re very shrewd.”
Mira felt greatly aggrieved and bitter.
