Hugh had no choice but to look at the carer. He said, “Go get Mira.”
Half a minute later, the carer came back and said honestly, “Mrs. Leopold said she would come when you had
manners.”
The veins on Hugh’s forehead throbbed, and he rubbed his temples.
Just then, his phone rang.
It was Brady Leopold, his brother. “Are you in the ward? Sylvia and I want to go over and take a look at you after we get off work.”
“I am.”
Hugh hung up, narrowed his eyes, turned to the carer, and said, “Tell her I invited her over.”
The carer did what she was told.
Mira was surprised.
Yet given he had manners, she came over, holding half a slice of her durian pizza.
Hugh’s expression changed right away, and he pinched his nose. “Who said you got to take it here? Throw it away.”

“You have no taste. It’s so delicious.”
Considering that he was a patient after all, Mira quickly stuffed the pizza into her mouth.
Her cheeks were bulging, and there were some crumbs at the corners of her mouth, making her quite cute at first glance.
Yet the smell was unbearable.
Hugh’s face was filled with disgust. “Stay away from me.”
“What do you want?” Mira didn’t get closer to him.
Hugh said, “My uncle and aunt will come to visit me soon. Be polite and remember to greet them. Don’t embarra** me. Understand?”
“That’s it?” Mira said. “Relax. I am much more polite than you.”
With that, she turned and went back to the lounge.
Hugh was pissed off, but he just took a deep breath and smiled coldly.
In the evening, Brady and his wife, Sylvia Dolly, came over.
They had several bags in their hands.
“Sit.”
Hugh raised his handsome chin and winked at Mira, indicating for her to greet them.

Mira had seen Brady and Sylvia at the wedding.
Yet back then, everyone was busy, and no one introduced the couple to her.
Mira walked over and nodded, “Hello, Uncle, Aunt.”
Brady spat out his tea.
He coughed violently.
Sylvia frowned.
She patted Brady’s back.
The corners of Hugh’s mouth twitched frantically. He tried hard not to laugh, and there were two charming dimples on the corners of his mouth.
He had been the one being pissed off by Mira, and today, he got to be the winner for the first time. He felt great.
Mira was confused.
Did she say something wrong?
Hugh told her that the two were his uncle and aunt.
Hugh held back his laughter and deliberately pretended to be mad. He scolded, “Nonsense! They are my brother and sister–in–law.”
Mira said nothing.
She looked into his eyes, feeling the ill intentions he was having.
She thought, “How can a man play dirty like this?
“He is so shameless.”
She pouted, aggrieved. She said, “Didn’t you say that your uncle and aunt would come over later?”
Hugh scolded her in a deep voice, looking disappointed, “When did I say that? Can’t you think? My parents are in their 60s, so, is it weird that I have an older brother who’s in his 40s?”
Mira could tell that he had no intention of admitting it at all.
Also, he was so good at acting.
Her eyes quickly turned red, and she shivered. “I’m sorry, darling. I’m so stupid. Don’t stay mad, OK?”
Then she quickly lowered her head and wiped away her tears.
Hugh even suspected she went to drama school.
“Don’t cry. It’s nothing.”
Seeing the innocent, pretty woman burst into tears, Brady coaxed her, “Our mom was in her 40s when she got pregnant with Hugh. When I went to his school, the others thought I was his dad.“”
Sylvia said unhappily, “Didn’t you know anything about the Leopold family before you married over?”
“It was … in a hurry, and I knew nothing at all,” Mira sobbed

and whispered.
Sylvia sneered, “Your mom pushed the Leopold family several times before to get you and Hugh married. Didn’t she tell you anything?”
She was referring to Paige’s mom, whom Mira wasn’t close to at all.
For a moment, Mira felt uneasy and could only bow her head and say nothing.
The more she said, the higher the possibility that she might make a mistake, so she simply chose to shut up.
“Enough. It was an honest mistake. Mira is young after all,” Brady said.
“You’re right. She is young. I’m the only old one here.”
Sylvia sneered, shook off Brady’s hand, got up, and left.
“Don’t take her words personally. She’s gone through menopause these years,” Brady said gently and then went after Sylvia.
Finally, there was no one else in the room. Mira glared at Hugh after getting relieved.
“You may be born with the wrong gender, Hugh.”
“What do you mean?” Hugh instantly was wary. His gut told him that she wouldn’t say something pleasant.
“You are as scheming as women, you know?” she said.

Hugh felt that the veins on his forehead throbbed. She was mocking him for being like a vixen.
“Don’t blame me. You’re foolish enough to believe in whatever I say,” he said coldly. “Perhaps you should have fewer durian pizzas and more food that will help you become smarter.”
Mira was pissed off.
His words were so mean.
Her cheeks bulged, and her eyes were wide open.
Hugh raised his eyebrows and suddenly felt in a better mood.
Yet he didn’t get to feel good for a long time.
Mira bought two slices of durian pizza and sat down to eat them next to his bed.
“Darling, the pizza is delicious. Do you want some?
“It smells great.”
The smell of durian reached Hugh’s nose, and all he felt was
a sharp pain in his brain and an urge to throw up.
He pulled Mira over.
In the next second, he puked all over her.
A woman’s scream from a certain ward rang out.
