Looking at Vanessa in a red dress not far away, Caleb couldn’t help exclaiming,
“What the heck?!”
Musa Moore raised his brows and asked,
“What’s the matter?”
“Vanessa didn’t ask anything from Killian, not even a cent.”
“Who told you that? If she didn’t ask for money from Killian, how could she
pay the bills for today? Tonight’s party is going to cost her three million
dollars, at least. Do you think that Vanessa can afford such an amount on her
own?” Musa laughed.

“Killian told me that just now.” Caleb also found it hard to believe.
Musa was stunned. “Seriously?”
On the other hand, Vanessa was also shocked. She barely went to bars, and
now little did she expect to bump into Killian’s friends.

Noticing that Vanessa was a little absent-minded, Nicole handed her a glass of
cocktail. “What’s wrong? Why are you still wearing a long face? Don’t tell me
that you suddenly regret divorcing Killian?”
Vanessa rolled her eyes. “I regret paying the bills tonight!”
She was rich, but she was not extravagant. Fortunately, she would only get
divorced once in her life. Otherwise, even the wealthiest person’s heart would

Nicole clicked her tongue. Sitting down beside her friend, she bumped
Vanessa’s shoulder lightly. “What’s wrong with you, then? Stuck in your
memories?”
Vanessa took another sip of the cocktail, which tasted good. “See the two
people over there?”
The moment Nicole followed Vanessa’s line of sight, she almost knocked over
the wine in her hand. “What bad luck!”
Vanessa shrugged. “Exactly.”

She had come here to celebrate her divorce and embrace a new life. However,
at the moment, she was drinking alone in the corner, looking every inch a
depressed woman whose love was in vain.
Since Killian’s friends were around, Vanessa thought that she couldn’t be
laughed at.
She gulped down the cocktail and stood up. “Wanna dance?”
Nicole arched her brows. “Should we? It has been a long time since we last
danced.”
Vanessa crinkled the corners of her lips into a smile. “Indeed.”
“Come on! Let’s hit the floor tonight!”

Nicole strode over to the DJ with Vanessa and grabbed the mic. “Good evening,
everyone! Let me introduce my rich best friend, Vanessa James! She will be

Vanessa was embarrassed in the beginning. However, seeing that Nicole, who
was a female star, wasn’t feeling any ounce of awkwardness, she also stopped
being reserved.
After Nicole talked to the DJ, the light on the dance floor changed. Those who
were there left consciously, leaving only Vanessa and Nicole in the spotlight.
Under the flashing, colorful lights, Vanessa was inexplicably pumped up. Since
she married Killian, she had been restraining her temper and pretending to be
gentle. She tried so hard that she almost forgot that she wasn’t such a woman,
to begin with.

She didn’t need anyone’s sympathy. What she wanted was for people to bow
down to her; she wanted to be the queen!
When the music started, Vanessa exchanged a glance with Nicole. They had
studied dancing together. Vanessa had even gone on stage with her for
Nicole’s talent show. Later, Vanessa took a liking to pole dancing. Nicole also
joined the lessons with her. They had been friends for twenty years and had a
tacit understanding of dancing. Even if they hadn’t rehearsed in advance, they
were still very compatible.

Holding the steel vertical poles, they walked in circles. Every step they took
was sexy and alluring. Their long and slender fingers gently scratched each
other’s arms. Seeing that, the people below the stage immediately cheered.
After hanging up her phone, Nicole’s manager, Annis Glyn, almost fainted on
the spot upon seeing such a scene. Annis wondered if Nicole knew that she was
a star.

Nicole was a little drunk. After being reproached by her manager, she sobered
up in an instant and immediately lost her courage to continue dancing.
Vanessa seemed to be under the influence too. Her fair legs were on the pole.
Nicole wanted to say something but saw an uninvited guest down the stage.
Nicole raised her brows. She closed her lips soon after and slipped away from
the stage, leaving Vanessa dancing all alone.

Vanessa was very eye-catching today. Although some people were confused
when they saw Nicole getting away from the dance floor, they didn’t say
anything since they were indulged in the other dancer’s performance.
The moment Killian came in, he saw Vanessa, who used to be elegant and
gentle, twisting her body and dancing around the pole like a snake. Her waist
was so soft that she seemed boneless.
Her long hair shone under the light, revealing her charming face. Her eyes
were clear and beautiful, laced with sexiness. She looked like a wild kitty,
casually climbing up the pole, or rather, she resembled a thorny rose that was
growing upward wildly.

She was extremely seductive.
Soon, Vanessa climbed down the pole gracefully, marking the end of her
performance. Her red dress swayed in the air.
Panting for breath slightly, Vanessa loosened her grip on the pole. Just as she
was about to leave the dance floor, she saw Killian looking her in the eye not
far away.

The next second, Vanessa immediately looked away and walked off the stage.
“What an impressive dance! Miss, are you taking in any students?”
Vanessa took the juice from her and tapped Nicole’s forehead. “Don’t think
that I will forgive you for leaving me alone on the stage just by saying this!”
“I was wrong!”

Nicole was obviously a funny character. However, Annis had set up a cold
image for her. Vanessa couldn’t help admiring her for being able to maintain
such an image for so many years.
“Don’t hug me!” She pushed Nicole away ruthlessly. Seeing that Nicole was
about to come close to her again, Vanessa explained impatiently,
“I’m sweaty.
Stop cuddling up against me!”

Smiling, Nicole whispered in her ear,
“Do you know Killian is here?”
“Yes.” Vanessa lowered her head and sipped the juice in her hand.
“When did you see him?”
When Vanessa was about to say something, a frosty male voice came from
behind. “Let’s go outside and talk it out.
