Chapter 22 Judson, Please Spare Me
“Judson?” Rose was surprised and cried out in alarm.
She didn’t understand why he was suddenly here.
Judson snatched Rose’s screwdriver away and put it through the handles of the closet doors, preventing Darrin from escaping.
“What are you doing? There is someone inside!”
Rose wanted to pull out the screwdriver, but her wrist was held by Judson, and she was pulled aside.
“How long have you planned this?” Judson asked in a grim voice, and his eyes were ferocious. With that, he shook Rose away and got her falling to the ground.
Rose looked shocked.
She didn’t understand what he was talking about.
Noticing Rose was confused. Judson got angrier.
“When did you and Darrin get back together?”
He leaned down and put one hand on the head of the bed, trapping her in a cage.
“To get back together with Darrin, you faked my relationship with Lillian. Ms. Edwards, you are quite good.
Darrin’s face was so close.
Rose could see his tightly knitted brows and his eyes similar to those
of lameka. His handsome and perfect face was etched with anger, disgust, and accusation.
All those emotions used to make her shudder, but now Rose could easily calm down.
Her black eyes went cold as she chuckled, “Fake? You are flattering me. I could fake it for a short period, but not seven years.”
She reached out and found her bag in a crack. Then she unzipped it and took out a pile of pictures, holding them between Judson and herself.
“Judson, take a good look at these. What are these?”
“Seven years ago, you and Lillian had a tryst on the top of Autao Building. This is a picture of you two hugging…”
“This is you holding her at her birthday party…
“And this. Right, this was from last week. You two were making out outside a club.
“You and she went to Turelove to pick a diamond ring. That afternoon, you made it public that you were dating her. Don’t tell me you did this to make her grandfather happy. Even if it was for show, you agreed to it…
“Judson, I present these to you today to tell you that I am not stupid or cheap. I don’t want to get between you and her. I will set you free!”
With that said, Rose felt relieved. All these years of grievance finally dissipated.
But the next words she said made her choke.
“Please, for the sake of my parents… My mother jumped off the Autao Building for you…”
Rose tried to hold back her pain and shook all over.
“Judson, please, let me go.”
She loosened her grip, and the pictures fell to the ground like sharp snowflakes.
The one on the top was taken seven years ago, In it, Judson and Lillian were hugging each other at the top of Autao Building.
They could make their love known to each other anywhere else. They could hug, kiss, and make promises.
But why Autao Building?
Why did they choose the place that Rose didn’t want to remember?
She couldn’t forget the Autao Building from 13 years ago. It caused her so much pain.
Why was Judson so cruel? Why did he tease her and scorn her to such
an extent?
What right did he have to stop her from ending their relationship?
It started with her stupid attachment to him. So, she should be the one to end it with determination.
But the next second, Judson suddenly raised his hand.
Then he violently gripped her face, making her chin so painful.
“What’s wrong?” he smiled instead of looking angry. “You can see Darrin, but I can’t have Lillian? You have been my fiancé for many
years and making things difficult for her. Why are you still not satisfied?”
Rose felt so much pain that she was about to cry. But she tried to smile. “I am satisfied. Why aren’t I when I am done with you?”
She was tired of explaining…
She didn’t want to explain to Judson that there was nothing going on between Darrin and her.
To prove her innocence, she even gave up on her career and self-
esteem.
When she was away from Judson these days, she felt she was whole again. It was like she finally found the missing puzzle to her humanity and drew a picture of her life.
However, Judson had to think she was unfaithful and cheated on him. Whatever she did would only make him think she was putting on an act, and he would despise her more for it.
“Since you have admitted you are with Lillian, what right do you have to accuse me of cheating?” she slurred in a harsh tone because of the pain he was causing her.
“Does my relationship with Lillian change your ownership?” Judson sneered coldly.
Rose’s sorry figure excited Judson, and he sat over, making her space smaller.
“Rose, I gave you so many opportunities, but you never cherished them.” He squeezed her slim neck with his hand.
“Even if you want to be Darrin’s mistress, you are still a dog to my family.”
His eyes turned cold as he enunciated, “An indocile dog!”
He squeezed the tender skin on her neck wantonly and sneered coldly.
“It’s time to put on chain around your neck to make you remember who is the master.”
Bang! Bang! Bang!
A loud noise came from inside the closet behind them, and the screwdriver clanked from the impact as if it would fall off the next second.
“Judson, are you still human?” Darrin was furious and kicked the door violently. “Are you still fucking human?”
This was the first time Rose had heard Darrin curse.
Darrin knew he was trapped and couldn’t escape quickly.
To not anger Judson, Darrin restrained himself from speaking, afraid Judson would hurt Rose.
But now…
If Darrin still chose to hold back, he felt he might die from anger. Now Darrin wanted to fight Judson to death.
Darrin wished he would kick the door open and rip Judson’s head off.
Darrin loved Rose so much but was afraid he would make her unhappy. Therefore, he chose to stay away.
He had been holding back for so many years and avoiding her even though he missed her all the time. But now she was being hurt by a
monster.
“I almost forgot.” Judson released Rose and walked to the closet expressionlessly. “I also have to deal with you.”
He walked forward and picked up the tool case from the ground, finding a reel of tape from it. Then he sealed the closet with it.
After that, Judson walked to the side and pushed the closet to the window with his shoulder silently.
“Judson!” Rose was so afraid that her voice changed.
She pounced on him and held him.
“You are crazy! What are you doing? Stop!”
Because Rose was uncomfortable with the smell in this apartment, Darrin opened the window when they came in.
Now the windows were open like a bloody mouth. The night from the fifth floor was the path to hell.
“Judson, stop! Don’t do this!” Rose couldn’t hold him still and knelt to pull his leg.
