Deceptive Appearance And Unseen Romance Chapter 19

Chapter 19
“James”, Evelyn looked up and said sweetly.
“I heard that you were indeed discharged from the army.” James came up, reached out, and touched her head.
Evelyn nodded, “Yes. Are you going to reproach me for that?”
“How will I do that? I’m glad about it. That way, your grandpa won’t teach a lesson to me alone.” James shrugged.
Then he walked to the sofa and sat down.
Everyone could see that James was easy-going, who wouldn’t be restrained by stereotypes.
“Well, James, have you moved back to live at home?” Evelyn walked to him. She knelt on the sofa and massaged James flatteringly.
“I have to follow my dad’s order anyway.” James reached out to pick up a cherry and eat it up.
Evelyn glanced at Hank, and she looked back quickly. Because Hank was staring at them.
“James, tell me, when will you quit the entertainment industry?” It seemed that Hank was reluctant to let his son work as an
actor.
“Grandpa, why? James is popular now.” Evelyn asked with doubt.
“Popular? He is welcome, but he can’t find a wife at all. James, don’t you forget how old you are?” Hank glared at him.
“Dad! I’m still young. I’m just in my thirties. Without me, the entertainment circle will lose a shining star.” After saying that, Evelyn stood up and showed them his charming posture.
Hank looked even gloomier, “Is that true? When I was at your age, your brother was old enough to do housework.”
“But you have me, a son born at your old age!” It sounded that James was challenging Hank’s authority.
There was a 10-year age gap between James and Evelyn. Therefore, they were on good terms.
They could understand each other when it came to thought and acceptance of new things.
“It’s an accident.” Hank’s face flushed as he said that.
“Enough! Why do you say that?” Natalia said, mock-exasperated but shy.
Natalia had been sitting at the side, silent. She might be a traditional wife.
After all, she was an old lady, whose education in the old times was totally different from that of nowadays.
“Fine. I got it. I’m not welcomed here.” James said with pity.
He was good at performing.
“If so, you wouldn’t be born.” Hank snorted.
But his tone was softened.
Behind his back, Natalia winked at James and Evelyn, signaling them to follow Hank’s words so that he wouldn’t rebuke them.
“Grandpa, I’ve made up my mind to be a member of Shadow.” Suddenly, Evelyn announced it loudly.
“Really?” Hank asked in surprise.
Evelyn nodded, “Yes. I’ve considered about it.”
“But why did you change your mind?” Evelyn had said decisively that she wouldn’t do that. Hank was puzzled why she changed.
“Because of impulse,” Evelyn said helplessly.
Out of impulse, she married an incompetent husband. Since she had promised to support a family, she had to have a job.
“I’m calling Warren.” Saying that, Hank began to look for his phone.
But Evelyn stopped Hank, “No! I will tell him myself.”
“Will you regret it?” Hank was alert.
Evelyn leaned against the sofa and said in a wronged look, “Grandpa, don’t you believe in me?”
“Yes… You have always been thoughtful.” Hank was quite frank.
“Fine. I regret it now. There are so many experts in Shadow. I will realize that I’m the weakest one anyway.” After saying that,
Evelyn sighed
Chapter 19
“Eve, why about being my security guard?” James suggested.
Evelyn just rolled her eyes at him, “No! I don’t want to be shot by your crazy fans. And they may even target me. After all, rumors will be everywhere as long as a girl shows up at your side.”
“Son, you can’t take Eve away from me.” Hank glared at James.
James raised his hands to show his surrender. “Well, well. She’d better be part of Shadow. There are so many elites there. Maybe she will find a perfect Mr. Right.”
“Forget it! Evelyn is finally discharged from the army. I want her to be at my side for a few years.” Hank blamed James.
Hank opened his eyes wide, “Dad, you are so partial. Why don’t you suggest Evelyn get married as soon as possible, not me?”
“You two are different. Don’t you forget how older you are than her?” Hank’s words were quite powerful.
James felt he was hurt.
“I’m just ten years older than Evelyn. There is not much difference!” But James lacked confidence. Anyway, time changed quickly. A decade was a long time.
“No, you are old enough. I want you to take your girlfriend back soon. I believe you can make it. After all, I read a lot of gossips about you on the Internet.” Hank kept pace with the times, who even knew to surf the Internet.
Evelyn nodded, “Yes. I saw the news on Twitter that James appeared in a hotel, so did a female star.
“Eve, are you lost your mind? I don’t care if you help me or not. But you can’t exaggerate the gossips! I don’t own that hotel. Since I can live there, so can other people, let alone a female star.” James, anxious, wondered if something was wrong with
his niece.
“But you two came out one after another.” Evelyn even made faces after saying that.
James gritted his teeth, “Fine. I won’t be mad at you for the sake of your dad.”
“Well, I gotta go.” Evelyn felt it was time for her to go back home.
“Go where? Your little apartment? I will have someone to seal it.” Hank said domineeringly.
Evelyn shrugged. “Whatever. I have somewhere to rest anyway.”
Then she walked straight out.
She had always been that easy and calm before anyone, going her own way.
“Eve, let’s have a meal tomorrow. My treat!” James shouted towards her back.
Evelyn raised her hand to wave and said without looking back, “Later!”
Amber followed her back and asked curiously, “Evelyn, are you going to enter Shadow?”
“Yes, I am.” Evelyn opened the car door and sat in.
“Will you take any
mission?” This was the real question that Amber wanted to ask.
