“Did he really say that?”
“Did Mrs. Neal and Mr. Neal fight?”
“I feel like they’re getting a divorce.”
Yoel’s gaze drifted over to them.
Those three were so sharp.
The girl who said they were getting a divorce could not believe it and covered her mouth in shock.
“No way…did I guess right?”
Yoel did not show it, but he was shocked by their speculation. “Mr. and Mrs. Neal has a strong relationship. As a member of the secretary department, we should always remember not to pay too much attention to Mrs. Neal’s personal life.”
If these few people knew that Mr. and Mrs. Neal were getting a divorce, the entire headquarters would know by tomorrow.
They were professionally strong in confidentiality but as quick as lightning when it concerned gossip.
Yoel let out a quiet sigh and continued working.
Joshua took over an hour from the company to Cynthia’s house, and it was already half past noon by the time he arrived.
Cynthia was eating when she heard the knocking and went to open the door. She had already decided that if it were Jayleen, she would not hesitate to throw her out.
Unexpectedly, the visitor was Joshua.
“What are you doing here?” Cynthia now strongly disliked him and Jayleen and did not even want to spare another second for them.
“I want to talk to you about something,” Joshua said, walking inside on his own.
Cynthia stopped him and knocked twice on the door. “Can’t you read?”
Joshua was confused.
He glanced at the sign but did not read a single word.
“What does it say?” Cynthia asked, with a hint of mischief in her voice.
“Joshua and dogs are not allowed inside,” she continued, enunciating each word carefully.
Joshua strode inside anyway, pressing Cynthia against the door and trapping her with his body.
“Have I been too easy on you lately, making you think you push me around?” Joshua asked.
“I should be the one asking you that. Do you think I’m a doormat that you and Jayleen can step on anytime you want?” Cynthia retorted, eyeing him with disdain.
“You? A doormat?” Joshua asked skeptically.
Maybe he would have thought she was easy to manipulate in the past. However, since he asked for a divorce, she had done a complete 180. It was impossible to use the term ‘doormat‘ to describe her.
Cynthia did not bother to respond to Joshua’s comment, and she would have thrown Joshua out by now if it were not for the divorce certificate.
“What do you want? If there’s nothing else, leave,” Cynthia asked impatiently.
“Why did you say those things to Grandpa? You know he doesn’t like her. By saying that, you only made him dislike her more. “Joshua finally found something to pick at, looking down at Cynthia, who he pinned against the door.
“What does that have to do with me?” Cynthia asked.
“You caused it.”
“If you want to get slapped, keep talking,” Cynthia said, her tone turning icy.
That incident was Joshua’s dark history, and just the thought gave him chills.
“Cynthia!” Joshua exclaimed.
“I seriously suggest you and Jayleen go get a brain CT scan. You’ve completely lost your moral compass. I’ve never seen anything like it,” Cynthia said.
“What do you mean?” Joshua’s eyes narrowed.
“Jayleen was the third person in our marriage, and you were the one who cheated,” Cynthia replied, making it clear for the
first time.
She had replaced the word ‘relationship‘ with ‘marriage‘.
“You keep coming to me, first saying this, then saying that. Do you really think I’m easy to bully?”
Cynthia put the issue out in the open.
