Chapter 84 Flanking From the Left and Right
After hearing Judy’s suggestion, Liam shockingly did not reject it. He nodded his head and started moving. On the other hand, Elizabeth, the date, had even less right to give an opinion.
Watching Liam listen to her suggestions made Judy so excited. After some thought, she thought Gwyneth was nothing to Liam deep down. “If he truly cared, why would Liam walk with me and leave Gwyneth alone?”
Liam had done it on purpose. Firstly, he did not want to disturb Gwyneth when she looked at the Glacier Lake development project. He knew that this project had a special meaning to her. Secondly, he wanted to see what other styles of tricks Gaspard and Judy were up to.
Before he left, Liam turned around and glanced at Judy. His expression had a hint of longing. When he thought about the scene, the hurt was clearly displayed in that woman’s eyes. If the pain was deep enough, she might have a chance at closure from the message sent before this.
At the lecture venue, Gwyneth had the Glacier Lake documents in her hands while listening to the lecturer boasting with each other. She was feeling extremely bored. She had already done a field study for this project and knew all the pipelines and wirings. Now, it was merely just to reconfirm their previous estimated values. And most importantly, she did not want to see Gaspard’s face.
*Ms. Glen, aren’t Gaspard, Judy, and you from the same family? Why are you all so cold with each other?” Wanda asked. Wanda had never seen the Gwyneth that was shown just now before.
What kind of story was hidden within that strong exterior? Wanda thought. She was never someone to gossip about but was just captivated by Gwyneth’s charisma ever since following her. As a recently graduated university student, she wanted to know more about certain influential people or people they considered idols.
“Since when did you start taking an interest in gossiping about such melodramatic stuff?” Gwyneth asked. As for Wanda’s sudden questioning, she was slightly surprised but had no intention of faulting her.
“Don’t get angry, Ms. Glen. I don’t really care about any melodrama gossip. I just think you were a bit sad just now.” Wanda said.
“Was I sad?” When she heard Wanda say that word, Gwyneth’s heart fell. If she was still genuinely sad, does that mean she had not completely cut off her relationship with the Glen family? After noticing this point, Gwyneth even felt slightly disgusted with herself.
While sighing, she regained her senses and saw Wanda’s slightly worried expression. Gwyneth gave her a cheery smile, “But in the end, it’s merely some trivial family matters. However, it became complicated when corporate interests were involved.”
It had nothing to do with trust or distrust but was about her familial matters. Naturally, Gwyneth was unwilling to mention it, but Wanda was an intelligent person. After hearing such a dubious answer, she changed the topic of discussion and did not continue to ask questions.
While at the same time, Liam was looking at these new projects. His expression was not very focused and was actually quite nonchalant.
“Liam, which project does the Luther Corporation plan to make a move on? I need to take note and join in after that,” Judy asked.
Liam heard this and glanced at Judy but did not respond.
“I heard that the Luther Corporation wanted to build a shopping mall franchise before this. Will some of the addresses that were not set yet for the project be chosen from them?” She continued to talk about some issues regarding this project, but Liam did not respond. At most, he would nod but not even open his mouth.
Even though Judy had wanted to try and lower her stance, she could only know so much about any information regarding this project. With nothing to say besides feeling depressed, she kept her mouth shut.
Gaspard has been at the side since the start. He observed the current situation with his eyebrows slightly furrowed. He then came forward.
‘Once the daughter rests, the father will follow up without missing a beat,” Liam chuckled in his mind.
“Liam, there are still many advantages for the official auction project now. What do you think?”
“There is a new development every year as well as its advantages. This is very normal, Liam said casually. It was merely a question that was asked out of politeness.
Speaking of this, Gaspard is an elder and also Gwyneth’s father. He needed to be courteous even if he did not want to reply. When he heard Liam’s reply, Gaspard seemed to have been given a pick–me–up. He surveyed his surroundings and asked, “Then, does the Luther Corporation plan to compete in the auction? Or do you already have a project that you fancy?”
When he said this, a few people had already walked to the vicinity of the Emerald Trails Project. Consequently, Gaspard, who planned to continue taking a detour, noticed that Liam was not following him. Instead, he had stopped somewhere far away.
It was for a moment, and Gaspard’s palms had broken into a cold sweat.
“How could it be such a coincidence? So many projects, but the Luther Corporation had been interested in the Emerald Trails Project. If it has truly come to this, then the founding senior members‘ plans might fail…“
