Chapter 85 Ending  Colt’s lips slide down my back leaving flutters of warm kisses. His hands caress my shivering skin, one up my hips and the other down my thighs. His hard member  slides in and out slowly  inside of me. He has been  gentle the last couple of  months.  I bend down further, resting my face on the edge of the  mattress while I keep my  legs grounded on the floor as  Colt makes love to me. It is  the most comfortable  position for the size I am now. Only one more month to go for me to pop. I do  miss our wild raw s*x but it  is too tiring for me right now  and too hard.  Colt straightens up and puts a hand on my back as he speeds up just a little.  “There. Just like that.” I whisper.  I have been horny like crazy and he indulges me every time. Many times he doesn’t  even finish, just does it for  “You like that?”  “Yeah. Don’t stop!”  “I won’t.”  He does as I say and continues at the same speed and rhythm until my body finally feels relief.  “Mh…feeling better?” He lets  me go then turns and lies  down on the bed.  “Yeah. Much better.”  He lies down with a smile  and hugs me. “Cranky  woman.”  I laugh and then groan. “I don’t want to be Alpha  today.”  “Then don’t. Take a day off.  I’ll handle it.”  “Thank you. I’ll just stay in all day and watch TV.”  “No, you won’t.”  I giggle. He knows me so  well.  It’s been a few months now  since Warrick officially made me and Colt Alpha’s of the pack. Colt and I work together just great. Hardly we ever disagree. We are in  tune and want the same for  the pack. He is my best  friend and I could not  imagine being anyone else.  It is like we were really made  for each other which is weird  cause we were not fated  mates but it feels like we  were meant to be. I love this 

Chapter 84  “Colt! What…what did you  do?”  “He is just going to sleep for a while.” Honora says.  “What are you doing? Why?”  “Darling, you like to chase trouble and I need you to be  safe.” She points at my  stomach. “At least until that  baby comes.”  Colt falls to the ground but  he is not completely asleep just yet.  “You can’t seem to keep yourself out of trouble and this big lump of a man can’t keep you safe either, so it is up to me.”  “Are you…crazy?”  “No, just looking out for my  baby.”  “Y–your baby?”  She smiles. “Yes. The  payment I am entitled to.”  “What payment!?”  “The one your mother owed me! You! You were supposed to be my payment! She told  me she’d give me anything I  wanted if I saved you so I  agreed. When I came for you, and she realized the price she was paying…when  she realized her mistake, she fled! She fled and burned my  mark from you! I couldn’t  find you! Clever little wolf!”  My lips quiver and my eyes  water. “You…she left because  of you…”  All this time we thought it  was because of Father, even  Warrick thought it was  because of him.  “No, she left because of you.  To hide you from me.” She says. “The moment I laid  eyes on you, I could sense the power inside of you. I wanted that power but you were unstable and dying. So I helped get that power  stable and I would take what  was promised to me in the midst of a ring of fire solar eclipse. I would render your body lifeless and absorb  your powers before the  power matured. I was denied  this, your mother conned  me and now her deb is yours to pay.”  “This is why you have been staying close. This is why you cared so much?”  She smiles. “I would have let  you rot in those pits if I had not sensed you with child.  You see you are useless to me  as an adult. I need and  innocent soul or the spell to  work.” She looks down at  Colt who struggles to resist the effects of the powder. “Hmh…the ogre is too big. He probably needs more sleeping powder.” 

Chapter 83  “Well, Cass…you are a smart one aren’t ya?” Oliver says.  He looks me up and down. I am n*ked and have nothing to cover myself with so I pay it no mind. Maybe having him distracted will help a bit.  “So? Tell me. Why have you done all of this? Was it you  from the start?” I ask.  “Of course not.” He strides  towards me and stands just a few feet away from me. “My scheme started when you  rejected me.”  I don’t believe him and I am  sure my expression shows it.  “I came here to establish a  pack.” He says.  “And you did that.”  “My ambitions do not stop there. It takes more than just placing a pack somewhere vacant to be well established.  We would have been a target for other packs that didn’t think we belonged here or even your own pack. But you  wouldn’t know all of this.  You are new to your position  and still learning.”  I narrow my eyes at him.  “I am not trying to insult you.” He says. “Anyway, your pack is the most powerful  one on this continent, so naturally, I wanted it.  “You wanted it? Just like  that?”  “Yes. And the easiest way to get it would have been to have you as my mate. That would have been the perfect  outcome. We could have been so powerful together.  We belonged together. But  you had to go and ruin it.  Make it harder for me.”  “So you just wanted to gain an instant powerful pack.”  “Actually, I share your  father’s ambition. To rule  them all. All other packs to fall at my feet. That is my goal.”  “Well, my father was always  crazy so that means that so are you.”  “Call me what you wish. It is my right.”  “Your…right?” I laugh. “You do sound just like him. And  tell me, why are you so worthy of ruling all other packs? How is it your right?”  He smiles. “You still haven’t  figured it out?” He asks.  “Figured what out?”  He laughs. “Nothing.”  “Stop playing games! I am  tired of your shit!”  “But it’s so much fun to see  you so frustrated.”  “Fun? FUN! You almost killed  my mate!”  “Damn, almost…”  “I think it is time for you to  die now.” I tell him. I look  deep into his

Chapter 82  “C–Colt…Colt!”  I look for him but I don’t see  him among the people that  get up.  “Colt!”  “Over here!” Victor shouts. I  see him kneeling over Colt  who lies on the floor  motionless. I run, sliding my knees on the ground as I get to him, ignoring the pain of scraping them.  “Colt!” I shout but he does  not move.  He has burn marks on the  right side of the body.  “Colt! Wake up!” I put my ear to his chest and immediately start to panic. “Victor there is no pulse!” I scream.  He pushes me away and puts  his head on Colt’s chest.  I feel dread rising from the pit of my stomach.  “There is a pulse but it is  faint…it’s…it’s slowing down.”  “WHAT?! NO!”  I grab Colt by his shirt and  shake him. “WAKE UP!”  וו He doesn’t move.  “WAKE UP! YOU HAVE TO  WAKE UP! DON’T LEAVE  ME! Don’t leave me…”  I can see his face growing pale. Suddenly, his eyes open just a bit and his lips shake.  “You can’t leave me, Colt.  You can’t. No one will ever  love me like you do and I won’t ever love again.”  His eyes start to close and desperation sets in.  “You can’t die!” I use my  fingers to open his eyes. “You  can’t die. Heal! HEAL  YOURSELF!” I command.  There is a sudden grunt. His face contorts and he opens his eyes wide. He takes in deep breaths as if he was  trying to find air.  “Colt?”  I am balling my eyes out.  “Colt?”  I don’t know what is  happening. Did my  command work?”  “Colt!?”  He suddenly blinks a few  times now staring at me and  starts to calm down.  “Is he…”  As I hold Colt, Victor leans down and puts his ear to 

Chapter 81  “L–late?”  “Yeah, late.” Ezra holds an invitation up. The same one all the other Alphas had.  “How dare you set foot  here?!” I shout unable to  contain my temper.  “I got an invitation just like  everyone else.” He  nonchalantly says.  “Don’t bullshit me! You know  this was all you, you f**ker!”  Colt holds me all this time  because I have been trying to  get to him. All I can think of  is ripping his head from his  shoulders.  “Let me go, Colt!”  “No, this is exactly it. This is what he wants…what he is up to.” He says.  Victor nods as he rushes to  will be considered a violation  of the protection seal. They  will all band together against  us.”  then I will have to take  control here. Take a deep  breath, girl, and be the Alpha we need right now.”  My eyes dart to him with  anger.  He nods. “His time will  come. Bide your time right now and watch him closely.”  “It seems there is a problem?” Oliver speaks.  Warrick stares at me to try  and get my answer.  Grinding my teeth, I speak. “No, no problem at all.” I  look at him. “Sit. Enjoy the  food.”  Warrick relaxes and Colt lets  me go.  Warrick then addresses  Victor. “Victor, the borders?”  “I have not received any update of anything out of the ordinary.”  I continue speaking to the guests. “As I was saying…” My words are tense. “I want to  thank you all for coming. It is quite a surprise that you all  made it. As stated in the  invitation, this will be a  neutral feast. A safe festivity  even if there is conflict  between us. You may talk  freely but also remember  that you are my guests, I will not tolerate misbehavior.” To  be able to say all of this, I have to force myself not to 

Chapter 80  I look around first without  engaging. Garret, Victor, and all of my generals mingle. They act normal but I know they are trying to get as much information as  possible.  “You will do great, my love.”  Colt says.  I turn to him. I have been so  stressed with all of this that I  had not noticed how good he  looks.  I caress his cheek. “So  handsome.”  “You think so?” He asks with  a cheeky smile.  “Yes.”  “And you are looking  exquisite. Maybe we should just forget about this whole party.”  I squint my eyes at him. “You  lie.”  He laughs. “We can dream.”  I sigh. “I don’t like having responsibilities.”  If we weren’t the ones in  charge, then we could forget  about all of this and go have  some fun.  I turn back to the festivity. Some of the Alphas socialize  with each other. I can see  which one of them knows  each other and most of them  “Cass.” Garret walks up to  “So, anything?” I ask.  “Unfortunately, none of them know anything. It seems that they were all  surprised to receive this  invitation.”  “Are our borders secure?”  “Yes. The possibility that this is all just a distraction is high.”  “Good. Now, what am I  supposed to say to-” My train of thought disappears when I spot someone that should be resting upstairs. “What is Dad doing here?!”  “What the hell?” Garret is just  as surprised as I am.  Colt, Garret, and I all rush to  Warrick. Victor gets there in  no time as well.  “What are you doing?”  “He won’t listen.” Lotus says  sounding tired. I am sure she already tried her best to talk  him out of this idea and  Poppy nods agreeing.  “I-” Warrick takes in a deep breath having trouble just starting to talk. “Something is going to happen tonight.  That much is obvious so I  can’t just lie around and do nothing.” 

Chapter 79  “How many have arrived?” I  ask.  “Three so far but by the looks of it, it seems as if it will be more.” Victor replies.  “How did this happen?!”  “I have no idea. No one that I  know of has mailed  invitations on our behalf.” He  holds an invitation card out  for me to see.  I take it and examine it. It  looks like a legit invitation  telling them that they are  invited to a feast in our pack  with the pretense of a  neutral council after and it  even has the seal of  neutrality.  “This look…legit.”  “It does and so we have to  treat it as is.” Victor says.  “What do we do?”  The seal of neutrality and a neutral council…it means  that all fire is ceased and no  one is allowed to make an  advantageous move. It would  be treason to do so to all  other packs.  “We can’t turn them away.”  Garret says. “If they find out  that this was a hoax made by our enemy, they will start thinking that we are weak.”  I nod. “Okay, so we do the opposite and use this to our advantage. We show them how strong we are. We show  them how it would not be a  good idea for them to join Ezra and go against us.”  “I agree but also, we need to be very careful. This is  obviously a plan from Ezra.”  Colt says.  “What in the world is he  trying to do?”  “I am sure we will know soon  enough.” Garrets says.  “And the Alphas? Do they know what is going on?” I  ask.  Victor shakes his head. “No, they assume they are here exactly for what the  invitation says. We’ve never  hosted an Alpha feast or  council so most of them–I  am sure–didn’t think it  would be a good idea to  refuse.”  “Poppy and Lotus are having  rooms prepared as we speak 

Chapter 78  “Will this work?” Miles asks.  “I have no idea. I hope so.  I look into Bryn’s eyes and  she looks into mine with  hope and expectation.  I focus, trying to reach the power inside of me. “Bryn,  you may speak again.” I  recite.  She takes in a deep breath and opens her mouth. “I…hate you.”  “You did it!” Dash cheers.  “Ah!” Bryn screams as she jumps with excitement.  That was a lot easier to do.  I look back at Honora with a  smile. “It worked!”  She smiles back and nods.  “As it should.”  I am so happy that this is not something I have to worry about anymore.  “Now let’s take care of that  baby. Here, drink this tea.”  She says handing me a tea  cup.  “Tea? What is it for?” I ask as I  take it.  I never really liked tea even though I have had it with Lotus and Poppy but just out of courtesy.  “It is Rooibos tea. It’s full of  antioxidants and naturally  free of caffeine. It’s good for the baby.”  Kanda nods. “Yes, Rooibas tea is very good for  pregnancies.”  Yuck…  I sigh and start slowly sipping the tea.  When Honora walks out of  the parlor, Lotus takes the  teacup from my hand and  smells it. She then takes a  sip.  “What is it?”  “Nothing. Tastes like normal  Rooibos tea.‘  “Why would you think  differently?”  “She is good at making potions so just making sure she didn’t put something extra that might be bad for werewolves and she might  not know about it.” She looks  towards the door Honora left  and mutters. “I should  probably go tell her about some of the plants that could harm our kind just in case.”  I narrow my eyes at her. “Are you all going to be fussing like this the whole time?”  She laughs and walks away. “Maybe.”  “Hey, you!” I hear Bryn  behind me.
