Chapter 28  Nikolay:  I stared at Katerina for a few seconds before connecting my lips with hers again.  The fact that she has allowed me this would make things a whole lot easier for the two of us. At least, the two of us would know to consider one another a couple without feeling like we need to explain anything to anyone about it. And that was something that was very important.  I wrapped my arms around her, pulling her to bed before getting on top of her. Slowly stripping her out of her clothes. “It is her house as well. Considering the fact that she is his wife, then “As long as it is not her house, and I do believe that you have taught me that it was YOUR house, and not mine throughout all my life, why do you want me being here? You know, last I checked, as long as I was married, I should have gotten to do what I wanted with my life. But it seems like you have different plans now.” I said, crossing my arms word from me would not be one that she would appreciate. It was times like this that I was reminded of how toxic my family was. It was a burden that we had to carry being who we were, and though it was a side that the public or media didn’t see, it was our main reality and how it was. Chapter 25  Katerina:  1 sat inside the car, waiting to arrive to the mansion as I glared out the window.  Having called my lawyer carlier, she asked me to stay put and to wait for further messages. She would be the one to report to the cops.  The game I was playing right now was a dangerous one. I knew that for fact, but I was left with no choice. I had to do it to ensure that I got out of this safely, and it wasn’t only due to Nikolay and I getting a divorce. Sure, this part was most likely to happen eventually if this went on, but I had to ensure my safety when it came to dealing with that woman.  She was one with no remorse, and I didn’t have to deal with her wrath to realize it. I already knew since I saw her and since she slapped me that I would be handling more than I, or any person, could take, and that was something that not only frightened me, but also made me want to curl up and hide. The woman knew how to use my own weakness against me, and that wasn’t something that I missed.  “Are you still not going to tell me what happened for you to change your mind?” Nikolay asked, breaking my train of thoughts. “Whatever it is, if you need me to help out, I can. But if you are going to stay this quiet, then there would be no way for me to neither help or understand the mess that we were dealing with. Big or small, I had to find out about it.” my eyes.  “I am sick and tired of all your threats, okay? I am just tired of them, and you do not seem to see it. Not you, not your mum, not your father who doesn’t even give a damn that his son has cheated on his wife. I am sick and tired of trying to please you…”  “Then don’t.” He said, stopping me.  I frowned in confusion, trying to process what the man said, only for him. to repeat it again. This time, he chose to slow down as he spoke, his eyes glaring daggers at me as his words left his mouth.  “Do not try to please me, do not try to satisfy me, and do not try to approach me. I don’t give a damn what you do to begin with, and I don’t know what has made you think that I did. But either way, whatever it is, I don’t care nor do I want to think of caring about.” He said, looking me in the eye as he spoke. “If you think that you are offering me anything, then take it away. Whether it is your time, your life, or even your marriage, go on and fucking file Chapter 24  Nikolay:  I frowned in confusion as I tried to process what Katerina just told me.  Her eyes which I could tell avoided mine as she spoke held more fear than her hard tone let out, but I could tell that something must have happened to lead her to this.  I walked toward her room, and knocking on the door, I waited for a few seconds before she opened it, shaking her head in question.  “Is there anything that you need, Nikolay?”  “What is going on, Katerina?” I asked, frowning as I looked at her. She frowned in confusion, crossing her arms over her chest as she waited for what I had to say. But I chose to stay quiet, letting her give me her response. The fact that she was acting the way that she was, was getting on my nerves, and I was making it obvious to her that I didn’t like all this mysterious play that she was putting on.  “What is that supposed to mean?” She asked, seeing as I chose not to respond. I glared at the woman, crossing my arms over my chest, mimicking her.  “One minute you are telling me that you don’t want to go home, letting me know…”  “I never said that I didn’t want you to go home, or that I didn’t. I said, you should be patient and calm. But since you are choosing to be a dick about every word that I tell you, I would rather that we go back to your house where you would feel comfortable and wouldn’t give me a hard time whenever you find yourself losing a breath.” She snapped, glaring at me. I frowned at her behavior, and shaking my head in question, I waited for her to say something else but she chose to take a step back to the bedroom. “If there is nothing that you need, please feel free to leave.” “No, your loving girlfriend did not talk to me. Nor do I want her approaching me. I just want a peace of mind, and if I can’t get it while I am alone by your side, then might as well go back to your place. Now, if there is nothing that you need, I have a few things to tend to.” She said, wanting to close the door. I glared at her and putting my hand on the door, I pushed it open, frowning at her behavior which seemed odd.  The woman looked more frightened than confident, as she normally would have, and instead of the calm woman that I grew used to around me, I saw a frightened one who just wanted to escape or hide, and that was something that I couldn’t understand, especially since I knew how she normally was.  “What are you doing, Katerina?”  “Why does it matter, Nikolay?” She asked, giving me the same tone that I gave her.  “Is it because the two of us argued earlier? I know that,I might have crossed my limit, but are you sure that you…”  “I no longer want to keep fighting you for you, do you understand that? I want peace, and with you, I can’t seem to find it. You either end up fighting me for something your parents are doing, as if blaming me for being putting the idea of doing so let alone doing it. The two of us know very well that the last thing you need to deal with right now is hell with her, and yet, you are throwing yourself in the face of danger.” I said, trying to make her understand where I was going, but she simply shook her head in response.  “I do not care what I am going to be put through. I am going through hell with you as it is, I don’t think that your mum would be any worse.” She said, taking me off guard. Her words seeming harsher than they ever were, and though I couldn’t really blame her for it, I couldn’t help but feel a pang in my chest as I processed the anger that she had toward me.  “Why are you talking like marrying me is causing you more hell than good? I know that it isn’t the best of marriages, but I doubt that I am giving you the hell that you are talking about.” I said, frowning in confusion as I looked at her. She smiled, her smile fake, holding more grudge in it than I thought a person could have. The way she looked at me told me that she wanted nothing more than to punch me in the face, and seeing her clench her fists, I could tell that this was where we were going if I kept pressing on her more than I already was. Chapter 23  Katerina:  “Nikolay,” I said, cupping my husband’s cheek as I tried to calm him down.  He tried going to the company today only to be surprised when he found himself practically locked prospering, his mum forbade him from stepping foot inside the building, and that fact alone confused me. “I am trying to help you find a solution to this, and what you are doing is not going to get you anywhere. She is doing this on purpose…”  “You just don’t want to go back to the house…”  “And do you?” I asked, stopping him. “If you do, I am going to pack now and go to her, but I don’t think that you want to live with a woman who treats “If you find it frustrating, then get the fuck out and leave.” He snapped, making me frown in confusion at his translation of words. I took a deep breath, fighting the anger that I had forming in my chest at his attitude, one which he didn’t even seem to notice. The fact that he was acting the way that he was, was far more annoying, the man was simply being rude. “I take it that you are finally giving up.” I heard from behind me, frowning when I saw his mum standing behind me with her arms crossed over her chest. She walked toward me, motioning for me to take a seat. I frowned, watching as she sat down. Two men, her driver and the security guard that often followed her stood a few meters away from us, clearly able to listen to every word that I said.  My heart raced as I looked at the woman, and choosing not to play with fire, I sat as she asked me to. My eyes met hers, and I shook my head in question. “You were here?”  left “No, but I have two men watching the area, and they told me that you the house and came here.” She said calmly, acting as if it were the most. normal thing ever. My heart raced and I had to fight back just getting up and leaving. The woman was sick, she had to be. “Now, I came here to talk to you, politely.” “What do you want from me?” I asked, shaking my head at her, wanting to end this conversation as fast as I can. The woman had to be mental if she thought that I would be ignoring this or leaving it at bay, Slowly clicking my smartwatch, thankful that I forgot to take it off after my workout, I was careful not to look at her as my headset which was hidden with my hair told me which button I was touching, I clicked on the record button all while keeping my eyes on hers. Thankfully, being winter, hiding my hand in my sleeve didn’t really make any difference as it meant that I could be too cold to cope with the weather, especially considering the fact that I wasn’t wearing a heavy coat.  “First, you are going to withdraw the complaint that you had about me. You would tell the cops that you managed to solve things between us as a family, and second, you and Nikolay are going to come back to the house. Whether or not you like it, I don’t care, the man is my son and I will not allow a child like yourself ruin his opportunities.” She said, glaring at me. “And if you do try to complain, I will be sure to file the fact that you haven’t been doing your duties with him as a wife. I believe that you two have been married for over a moth now, and I do not think that you have allowed him to touch you once. What do you think the judge would say when he hears that you are still a virgin while being married?”  “The man had a woman in his bed on the next morning…”  “He had her in his bed, under our same roof, in the room right next to yours on the very night you arrived to the house.” She said, glaring at me. My heart raced against my chest as I heard her words, and shaking my head, I denied what she said. Her son couldn’t have been as rude as to do so. “You can even “I believe that your word against a whole security team, my rigged videos, and my son’s words would be enough for him to believe us, don’t you? Whereas, you, you will not be able to hide the fact that you are a virgin. Even if you do try to play a funny game if tearing your hymen…”  I stayed quiet, looking down at my lap as the woman spoke, momentarily thankful for the fact that she didn’t realize that I was recording every word she said. “Nikolay can always file for YOU cheating on him as we were told that you weren’t touched by another man, and my son was yet to touch you, how are you not a virgin?”  “What do you want from me?” I asked, shaking my head at the woman, quickly realizing that there was no escaping this. If they had all this planned, then I would better play along as not to have them suspecting anything. The last thing I needed was to lose this.  “Now you are choosing to be smart.” She stated, and I glared at her. She smiled, tempting me, but again, I chose to stay quiet as I rubbed my hands together, wanting to warm myself. “You and my son will be back to the house before the week ends. Otherwise, I will be sure that everyone, and I literally mean it, everyone knows that you are refusing to satisfy your husband. I believe that you know the media and the rumors that they can spread, and the last thing that you want is to have your name on every billboard in the city as the woman who was refusing to have her husband touch her, what was her secret or reason?”  “It could be the fact of my husband cheating on me, have you considered that?” I asked, shaking my head at her. She smiled, and shaking her head at me, she got up from the bench and walked toward me, squeezing my shoulder, making me wince. I knew to stay completely still, not wanting her to see the headphone, but I was sure to act completely normal for her not to suspect anything.  “I want a grandchild, therefore, rather than choosing to use that sass. mouth against me, I do suggest that you use it to satisfy your husband. Now, go, you have five days…”  My heart raced against my ribcage as I watched them walking away. She didn’t bother looking at me, but I was careful not to move an inch that revealed that I had a watch on to begin with, keeping in mind the fact that she had men watching us. More specifically, at this point, watching me. 

Chapter 22  Nikolay:  My heart raced as I fought the rage that formed in my chest and mind.  The fact that she came here to actually threaten me played in my head, and the fact that she was suddenly against everything that SHE stood up for annoyed me more than ever.  Katerina walked into the bedroom, carrying a mug of coffee, handing it to  The maids came back a while ago to tend to the house’s needs, and I have been here in the bedroom since they left.  “What you’re doing won’t do you any good, Nikolay. You are just draining yourself over something stupid.” She said, sitting on the edge of the bed beside me.  “I hate the fact that she is actually treating me like a child, choosing to come and threaten me at MY place, and…”  “Nikolay…” she said, stopping me. She turned around to face me, and I was surprised when she wrapped her arms around me, pulling me in for a hug. “I understand your anger right now, and I understand that you are annoyed by her behavior. But she is trying to use an upper hand on you and you are literally giving it to her.”  “I know, and she tends to take that to her advantage, and that is something that I don’t like. I just don’t know how to deal with that bullshit. I don’t…”  “You don’t deal with it, Nikolay. The woman is your mother, and we are to respect that. She might not end up respecting the fact that we are leaving. the house, but that doesn’t change the fact that we did. As for her threatening to take away what she gave you, I am not stupid as not to know that you don’t have your private things that are not run by her. You are not  1/4  Chapter 22  a child, and I do not think that you need to act like one.” Katerina said, looking me in the eye. I sighed, taking a deep breath as I wrapped my arms around her, pulling her in for a hug.  “You don’t know how much I needed to hear those words.” I whispered, feeling more grateful than ever at her presence. The thing was, she didn’t even know how much I actually needed her, hell, even I didn’t know it. The way she looked at me, spoke to me, how calm she was. She was just too different from Anastasia, and though I hated comparing both women, but I couldn’t help but regret the fact that I wasted a lot with Anastasia, fighting to simply please her when Katerina seemed to be pleased and impressed by literally almost everything that I did. As long as it made her smile, and as long as the two of us were not fighting over cheating, she really did have a heart of gold that I was stupid to waste.  “I am sorry, Katerina.” I said, stopping her. She frowned in confusion, and turning to look at me, she shook her head in question, trying to understand what I meant. But I didn’t even know how to start with  explaining what I wanted to say. The woman has taken too much for me, and I didn’t even deserve that she did what she has for me.  “What?”  “Everything that you are dealing with for me. The anger, the pain, the cheating, I am sorry for all that.” I said, choosing to be direct with my words. Her eyes softened, and she smiled, extending her hand to me. I lay my head on her chest as she ran her fingers through my hair, making my chest ache. This was something that I knew I couldn’t do with even Anastasia, and I don’t even remember the last time I was truly hugged by my mother without the need to do something in return. If anything, I don’t even know when she looked at me with gentle eyes without making me feel like I was complete garbage. With Anastasia, though I could never doubt her love for me, I often knew that it didn’t come for free, if anything, I knew that she was getting things as if I was ‘paying‘ her for what she was giving while I was initially doing them because I truly did love her. The fact that I was even comparing to begin with made me doubt. MY own love for her. Did she love me back? Was it all a game to get what she wanted? All these questions played in my head, and the more I thought of them, the worse I felt.  “Nikolay, the two of us already talked about this…”  “No, we haven’t, at least not the way that I would want us to.” I said, making her frown in confusion. “I have hurt you, and yet, you chose to stand by my side. Not only that, but you also didn’t judge me after what you just saw happening. You proved to me that I wasn’t alone and…”  “Nikolay. I am your wife, I am not going to judge you because you’re going through a rough time. We all go through them, but that is literally how life is, we can’t change that. We just live around with it until we have somehow managed to pass it. I know that it is difficult to believe, but we all go through such times, and some can go through harder even, but as a husband and wife, we swore to stand together, through thick and thin. What type of wife would I be if I choose to just drop you out of the first complication that we go through?” She asked, making my chest ache.  “Can I tell you something, but I don’t want you getting upset with me?” I asked, making her frown in confusion. Katerina nodded, waiting for my response and I sighed, taking both her hands in mine, gently running my finger over hers. “I hate comparing, but I can’t help but regret the fact that I hurt you a lot when you are doing everything in your power to literally satisfy me. I understand that I may not deserve it sometimes, and I know for fact that I have hurt you more times than should be accepted or forgiven, but I will forever be thankful for your gentle heart.”  “Why would I be upset with what you just said?” She asked, frowning in confusion.  “Because the comparison that I made was one that I had no right to do. I know that you might tell me that it is normal and maybe it is, but I still have no right to compare you with another person simply because each “I can’t blame you for comparing me to the love of your life. It might hurt. me to think of, but I can and will never blame you for it. That is one thing that you need to know about me.” She said, making my heart skip a beat. I leaned in before I could stop myself, connecting my lips with hers. However, it wasn’t long before I pulled away, knowing not to cross a certain limit as to ensure that I didn’t end up ruining something that I was still fighting to build.  “I don’t know what I did good to deserve a woman like you.” I said, looking her in the eye. Her cheeks reddened, and I couldn’t help but smile at that. “But I will forever be grateful for the beauty of your gorgeous heart.”  Katerina’s eyes softened, and I couldn’t help the smile that formed on my lips when SHE leaned in to kiss me. Her kiss was soft and gentle, hesitant a bit, letting m know that she wasn’t experienced in this, something that she didn’t even know how much I valued.  To know that my woman, my wife, and beauty was a woman who was untouched, pure, and clean was something that I cherished a lot, and regardless of her reasons, I knew to respect them.  We pulled away to look one another in the eye, and I couldn’t help the smile that formed on my lips as she took a deep breath, blushing at the fact that it was HER who started the kiss instead of me this time.  “I don’t know how I will show you your value to me, Katerina, but I will be sure to do so if it is he LAST thing that I ever do…” 

Chapter 21  Katerina:  I woke up in Nikolay’s arms as he held me to his chest.  I don’t even know how I ended up sleeping on his chest to begin with. But all I could really remember was us watching a movie, under the blanket as it grew colder, and then I woke up.  The TV was still on, and the mugs were still on the table in front of us, and I couldn’t help but smile as I looked up to see him sleeping peacefully as he took deep and slow breaths.  I ran my finger over his scruff before I could actually stop myself, and looking down at his chest, I couldn’t help the blush that formed on my cheeks as I recalled our conversation yesterday.  I knew that it was wrong of me to threaten him, or more specifically, warn him the way that I did. The man had every right to do what he wanted considering the fact that the two of us agreed to marry on a contract or deal, but I had to admit that it still hurt to know that it was that easy to cheat on me the way that he did.  “Morning.” Nikolay said, tightening his grip around me. He opened his eyes to look at me, his voice deep with sleep, and I couldn’t help but blush when I saw him giving me a gentle smile. He looked up at me, sitting up as he pulled me with him. He looked down at me, running his finger over my cheek as he smiled.  “Good morning, Nikolay.” I said, putting my hand on my chest as I pushed him away. He looked down at my hand before sighing and letting me go, watching as I sat more comfortably.  His eyes met mine, and he removed my hair from my cheek, tucking it behind my ear. “It seems like the two of us ended up dozing off.”  JB BBB M  Chapter 21  65% 16:48  “I am aware, though when it happened, I have no idea. But the two of us dozed of, deep enough to not even notice how cold it was in the room.” I said, and he chuckled. It was indeed cold, due to snowing, the weather inside the house was freezing. We didn’t really turn on the heater, wanting to open it when we were done with the movie considering the blanket and clothes that we were wearing, but it seems like we just fell asleep without bothering.  “Explains how we ended up cuddling.” Nikolay said, making me laugh. My cheeks reddened, and he smiled.  The house’s landline rang, breaking the conversation, and I knew that it was housekeeping, calling to ask for permission to come and clean. There were two maids that would be coming in a bit as well to do laundry, and that meant that Nikolay and I needed to get moving if they were going to come to ensure that they didn’t see us laying the way that we were.  “I’ll let them inside, and give them the instructions on what to do.” I said, and he nodded. I watched as Nikolay got up from the couch as I answered the landline, opening the elevator without needing to check who it was.  The elevator’s door opened, and I frowned when I saw who walked out, FOLLOWED by the maids. Nikolay, who was still picking up his phone frowned, wrapping his arm around my waist as he pulled me behind him, and glaring at the woman, he squeezed my waist gently, assuring me that he wasn’t going to let her hurt me.  “I believe that the two of you are done playing house.” She said, crossing her arms over her chest. “It is time for the two of you to come home.”  “We are already home, and we will be moving to our place soon enough.” Nikolay said, his eyes and tone darkening as he looked at his mother. The woman looked behind her, at the two maids who were in the room, and I nodded at them to leave, giving us our privacy. I would be calling them to come back later, and she raised an eyebrow at me. “You are starting to learn how to act like a wife and a lady of the house, impressive.” She said, mocking me as she spoke, I had to admit, the slap that she gave me was not only fresh in my head, but the bruise that she gave me was yet to even heal; therefore, for her to be in front of me right now was not something that I accepted.  “I’ll have you know that I went to the hospital, and I got a report to have been hit.” I said, glaring at her. In fact, it was actually Nikolay’s idea to do so. Whatever his reason was, I didn’t really ask, but considering the fact. that he asked me to do so, then he must have a valid reason for it.  “You did what?” She asked, glaring at me. Nikolay stayed quiet, looking at his mother whose eyes were wide in surprise.  “I have reported the fact that you hit me, but I chose to keep the case open without pressing charges. However, I am put in a protection program, you would be getting the notice of it as soon as my lawyer gets everything set, I figured that I would let you know about it myself before the legal team does call you.” I said, my tone hardening. Again, this was Nikolay’s idea. The man, for some reason, wanted to protect me from her, and I can only assume that he predicted the fact that she would be finding and coming to us. This would be making the whole thing a lot easier for the two of us.  “And you agreed to this?” She asked, turning to her son whose eyes hardened. “My own son, you agreed for a slut of a wife to do this?”  I frowned at her words, but chose not to say anything. If I were a slut, then I knew that her son would be very well aware of it, and not only that, but I knew for fact that he would be resenting any form of interaction with me. Nikolay, up until we came to this hotel after what happened between his mum and I, avoided all sources of communication with me; therefore, the last thing I expected was for him to think of talking to me if he knew that I was a slut.  “You brought her to be my wife. You arranged our marriage, and made sure that I didn’t get out of it because you believe that the woman is ‘good‘  JS BB BBM M  点点  Chapter 21  Icon 16:48  for me as a bride. Now that she has stood up to you, she is a slut?” Nikolay asked, raising an eyebrow. “You crossed all moral lines when you laid your hand on her. And I do believe that you are aware of it. The woman is not your daughter, and even if she was, she is an adult to be respected, but then again, what do you know about that, right?”  “What is that supposed to mean?” She asked, frowning in both anger and confusion. I had to fight back flinching as I saw her anger in her eyes; however, it didn’t seem to matter to Nikolay who was glaring at her as if she’s grown a second head. The woman’s eyes flared with anger and rage. My heart raced, but I chose to keep my eyes on her.  “You should look back at the past that you made us all live, and I do believe that you know very well what I mean. You are just too frightened right now to actually admit it.” Nikolay said, glaring daggers at her. “You made us all live through hell, under your shadow because of your egoistic reasons, and now, I am not going to allow you to do that to the woman that I married, or more specifically, the woman YOU chose for me to marry.”  “So, you chose her over family? Is that what I am understanding?”  “Are you going to threaten me with money again?” Nikolay asked, smirking at her. “Because I will have you know, the difference between Katerina and Anastasia is that she would take me with nothing but my name.”  “You won’t even have a name to value though.” She said, and Nikolay smirked.  “I’ll take that as a challenge.” He said, before turning to kiss my temple. “If you have nothing else to tell me, my wife and I have things to tend to…”

Chapter 20 Nikolay: I sighed as I sat out on the veranda, knowing that there was literally no hope in trying to fix things with Katerina. The way she looked at me told me that she was far beyond the fact of me bringing her back, though her leaving in the first place didn’t make

Chapter 19  Katerina:  “Katerina, you need to eat something. You are going to end up getting sick.” Nikolay said, looking at me. I looked down at my lap, not wanting to bother with the food, but I knew that the man was right.  I took the sandwich in my hands, taking a few bites from it before setting it back down on the plate.  I still didn’t understand why he was treating me as nicely as he was, but it has been a week since the two of us have moved out of the house to the hotel as we prepared for our move to the new villa, and he has been playing the role of the concerned husband since.  “You are barely eating half a sandwich almost every day.” He commented.  10  “It keeps me alive, and that is what you all need anyway.” I said, getting up from the couch. I was still angry, but this time, I wasn’t angry with him, I was more angry with myself.  I walked out to the veranda, fighting back my tears as I looked out at the city’s view. It turned out that the big window also had a door with a veranda where we could have a nice meal in. And though anyone else would have found it very beautiful, I personally saw it as my escapee.  Being in the state that I was in, Nikolay wouldn’t let me out of the house, and it was mostly because he was worried about me getting hurt or me seeing his mum who he knew might end up hurting me.  The fear that consumed me was also something that I couldn’t describe. The idea of someone wanting to harm me the way that she did scared me, and the fact that I knew that she could easily do that was something that I couldn’t deny. The woman didn’t hesitate to slap me, and that only meant that she could do worse if she had the chance to do so, and until things have calmed down, Nikolay didn’t want to risk anything.  BB BBM M  M  % 16:46  Chapter 19  He knocked on the door behind me, taking me by surprise, and shaking my head in question, I didn’t bother turning around to face him to find out what he was on about. I didn’t really care anyway.  “Katerina, I know that I have hurt you, and that we all have, but what you are doing to yourself is not good for your health. You are just going to end up hurting yourself and that is not something that I want for you.” He said, and I smiled, shaking my head at him.  “You don’t care about me, my existence, or whether or not I am hurt. I understand that you are afraid that something might end up happening to me, and that is something that you don’t want to deal with. I am also aware that you don’t want your reputation ruined by the fact that your wife could very much end up hurting herself. But please there is no need to worry about such matters as the last thing that I aim to do is hurt or ruin your reputation.” I said, shaking my head at him. “I really don’t care what you think or do, the one thing I do want is my peace, and I believe that you can give it to me considering that I am doing everything in my power to give you yours.”  “Katerina, I was just as forced into this as you are. I don’t understand why you’re making it an issue that I wanted to choose being with someone else.” He said and I shook my head at him, taking a deep breath as I tried. to calm myself down.  “Nikolay, you can choose a thousand different women to be with, and it would be the last thing that I care about. You as my husband do not matter to me, and I believe that as your wife, I should not matter to you. Why? Because in your opinion, you are stuck on the fact that this was an arranged marriage. Yes, it was, and it still is, but that never meant that we could have gone on with it without the damage. However, it seems like I am the only one who got hurt in the end.” I said, shaking my head at him.  “I didn’t want for this to happen, and I still don’t.”  “And yet, it did, and I don’t think that there is anything that would change  JJ B B BBM  DB 14  “What’s in it for you? You know, whether or not I am happy, protected, or not, what is in it for you?” He asked, and I shook my head at him, choosing to stay quiet for a few seconds before being able to actually respond.  “My peace of mind, have you ever heard of that?”  “What?” He asked, frowning in confusion. I gave him a cold smile, one void of emotion, before patting his chest twice. Nikolay looked down at my hand, frowning in confusion as he tried processing what I just said.  The arrogance of the man was obvious, but I knew that it was also due to him being a spoiled as he was.  For a man who claimed to be in love, the man chose to fight for money instead of his love. His mother, logically, wouldn’t have left him to rot on the streets. However, her question was to see whether or not his love was pure enough for him to go with nothing but his name, and even if HE was pure, I wasn’t stupid as not to realize that Anastasia was also with him for his money.  The woman’s reputation wasn’t all that pleasing, and though I still didn’t approve of his mum’s ways, I understood her reasons behind not wanting him to be with a woman who was initially stealing from her husband before filing for a divorce, claiming that she was abused.  JJ BB BBM M  Chapter 19  16% 16:46  The funny part was, the woman chose to be with Nikolay during their marriage, and not even when they planned on getting divorced, no, it was done long before they even filed for one. The woman was benefitting from both Nikolay and whatever he was offering her, and her husband, regardless of whatever the issues were between them.  When the man actually found out about the scandal, well, that was when all hell broke loose, and that is something that no media, family members, or even the man himself before the divorce could easily drop. It was something that he couldn’t be forced to do, logically, and despite all the pain that he must have been through, I still couldn’t believe that he chose to stay quiet about it.  “I chose my pace of mind instead of fighting you, Nikolay.” I said, looking at him. “You might not understand that due to the number of people that actually used to fight and argue with you, but I chose to not want to be one of those people. However, it seems like I ended up being a victim to your selfishness because of it.”  “Katerina…”  “I will be in my bedroom if you need anything from me.”
