Chapter 82  Celeste had to bring Kendric home. As soon as they came into the room, het  leaned against her. He closed his eyes and let out a deep breath, “we’re finally  home.”  Celeste led him to the living room, then she went searching for Cade’s phone number.  Kendric and snatched the phone from her grip. He grinned, “is the phone more appealing than me?”  “Give my phone back.”  Kendric took her phone and smoothly guessed her password. “Let’s see what’s so captivating on this phone.”  Honestly, Celeste had never seen Kendric act so… silly.  Celeste resorted to sweet–talk, “there’s nothing more attractive than you. Give it back to me.”  Kendric powered down the phone, and before Celeste could react, he stepped on a chair and placed her phone on chandelier.  Celeste was totally dumbfounded.  “What the hell are you doing?!”  “You said I’m the most attractive, so we don’t need the phone now.”  “Alright, I gave in. Can you go to bed now?”  Kendric’s gaze wandered toward the master bedroom. “Sure.”  “Come with me,” she headed to the guest room.  ”  Chapter2  “Go ahead and sleep. When you wake up tomorrow, you should leave,  alright?” Celeste said as she made the bed.  But when she turned around, she found no one behind her.  She walked out and found him in the master bedroom. He was sitting on  the bed, gazing at her intently.  “Sleep here,” he said.  Arguing with a drunken head would be stupid. “Alright,” she agreed.  He began unbuttoning his shirt.  “Wait, wait, what are you doing?” Celeste hurriedly stopped him.  He blinked innocently, “undress for sleep.”  Celeste quickly grabbed his loosened tie, “just keep your clothes on for the night.”  Though he didn’t seem pleased, he followed her words. When Celeste was about to leave, he sat up, “it’s time to sleep.”  Celeste had no idea what was going on in his mind. His thoughts now were beyond what a normal person could  grasp.  He pulled back patted the bed. p covers an  Celeste grabbed a nearby cushion. “It’ll accompany you into sleep. I have something else to do.”  Kendric furrowed his brow, deep in thought.  Finally, with Kendric sleeping soundly, Celeste collapsed in the guest room. She was genuinely surprised by his behavior that night. He was still stubborn,  Redeemed From Cured Love!  Chapter 2  but he was more reasonable, and less irritating.  Early the next morning, as Kendric woke up, he found himself in a strange  room.  Upon opening the door, Kendric caught Celeste standing on tiptoe on a  chair, reaching for her phone. He’s abrupt appearance nearly caused her to  tumble from the chair.  “What are you doing?” he inquired.  Today’s Kendric returned to his customary aloof demeanor. Celeste felt a  tinge of disappointment.  “I’m getting my phone. It’s on the chandelier,” Celeste replied.  Kendrie–rolled up his shirt sleeves, and signaled for Celeste to descend from  the chair. “How did your phone end up on the chandelier?”  Celeste rolled her eyes. “Someone put it there, of course.”  Stepping onto the chair, Kendric effortlessly retrieved her phone. He flicked away the dust off his sleeve. 

Chapter 81  At this moment, Kendric was indeed drowning his sorrows upstairs.  As the auction concluded, Celeste left without even sparing him a glance. He had made a considerable effort to see her, flying back from abroad solely for her. However, she didn’t spare him an extra glance!  Even Ezra thought that Kendric was just too pitiful. He brought out his treasured collection of wine and let Kendric pick from it.  Kendric was burning with suppressed anger, but he couldn’t act as he had before with Celeste. So, he resorted to alcohol to numb his wounded heart.  “I’m indeed going abroad, but that has nothing to do with you. The painting is kept by the staff, remember to retrieve it in time.” With that, Celeste hung up the phone.  Kendric took a swig of wine. The bitterness scared down his throat like a fiery blade, slicing deep into his heart. He threw away the phone  absentmindedly.  “Heartbroken?” Ezra raised an eyebrow  Kendric raised his glass and took another gulp.  Ezra cautioned, “You can’t keep drinking like this. If you get plastered, I’ll have to send you back home. Troublesome.”  Kendric’s clear eyes seemed somewhat dazed, “home? Where’s my home?”  He didn’t have a home anymore.  Kendric was drunk.  Redeemned From Can  Chapte  He sat quietly on the sofa. Ezra patted his shoulder, “call your driver to  come pick you up.”  The pat made him snapped out of the dream,  “Where’s Celeste?”  Kendric lowered his head to fumble for his phone, “my phone… where’s my  phone? I need to call Celeste.”  Ezra quirked an eyebrow. To be honest, it was his first time witnessing Kendric inebriated. Alcohol seemed to bring out a different Kendric.  Ezra slyly shook his phone, “looking for Celeste?”  Kendric fixed his gaze on the phone.  Ezra grinned mischievously, “come with me, I’ll take you to find Celeste.  Kendric nodded his head obediently like a child.  “You know, you look more agreeable when you’re drunk.”  Kendric appeared somewhat slow on the reaction. He pointed at the phone, “Celeste… make the call.”  “Alright, come with me and we’re gonna call her.  Getting Celeste’s current address wasn’t too tricky. Ezra soon dropped  Kendric off at her rented apartment.  Afterward, he dialed her number.  Celeste was drying her hair. When the phone got through, she recognized  Ezra’s voice.  “Kendric is drunk and he’s now downstairs. Come pick him up.”  “Why is he here?”  Ezra adopted an innocent tone, “I don’t know. I asked where he wanted to  go, and he gave me your address.”  Celeste wasn’t entirely convinced, “take him back to his villa.”  “No.”  “Why not? You’re friends, aren’t you?” Celeste questioned.  “Anyway, I left him downstairs. If you don’t come, just let him spend the night there. When he wakes up tomorrow, he’ll find his way home.”  “You can take him…”  Before she could finish her sentence, the call was abruptly hung up.  Kendric stared intently at Ezra. “Where’s Celeste?”  Ezra pointed upwards. “She’s upstairs.”  Kendric followed his gaze. “Where?”  Ezra took away Kendric’s phone. “I’ll keep your phone for tonight. I’ve done my part, the rest is up to you.”  Kendric persisted, “where is Celeste?”  Ezra randomly pointed a lighted window, “that one. She’ll be down to pick you up shortly.” 

Chapter 80  In the lounge on the 32nd floor of Relly Hotel, Ezra expressed his  frustration. “Bro, why the hell were you doing just now? Why did you treat her  that way?”  For the first time, Kendric didn’t retort Ezra. He hung his head in silence.  Seeing his lack of spirit, Ezra sighed and reclined on the couch.  “Let’s make it clear. Your goal is to win back Celeste’s heart, right?”  Kendric tugged at his tie. “Of course.”  “And that’s you way? Casting cold glances at her and rudely ignoring her  greetings?”  “She treated me like a stranger.”  Ezra furrowed his brow, “wow, what do you expect? She should call you  darling and jump to give you a French kiss? YOU HAVE BROKEN UP! And, she  hasn’t forgiven you yet. Kendric, you’ve been spoiled too much.”  Kendric lowered his head, as still as a sculpture.  Ezra mocked, “feeling sad now? Well, there’s news that will bring you more  sadness. Interested?”  Kendric furrowed his brow, perplexed. “Huh?”  Ezra gave a sly smile, “another five million.”  “Enough, you bloodsucker!”  “Okay, seriously, Celeste’s going abroad.”  Redeemed From Caged Love  Chapter00  After stating this, Ezra sat calmly and fixed his gaze on Kendric’s  expression.  “Who told you that?” He was wearing a forbidding look.  “Celeste told me.”  Kendric jumped up from the chair. He couldn’t wait a second to find  Celeste, but Ezra halted him with a disdainful snort. “You sure you won’t lose  your cool if you head to her now?”  Kendric came to a halt. He had an utterly stormy expression right now. It was frightening.  “Cool off. She’s going abroad for further study. It means it’s not a spur–of–the–moment decision. You know how complicated those procedures are. She must have been preparing for this for at least a year. And what are you gonna do now? To tell her to give up?”  “She can’t leave,” Kendric insisted.  Ezra sneered, “she might start preparing it a year ago, and you never noticed? It’s too late now.”  “She never told me…”  “Would you have agreed? I know you wouldn’t, and surely Celeste know it well. You’ve never given her the right to choose, so don’t blame her for hiding it from you.”  This time, Kendric dropped his stubbornness. “So what should I do?”  Easy. Firstly, pay me five million.”  Chaptereo  At 8 o’clock, the auction downstairs began promptly. Celeste sat down on  her seat.  She then flipped through the auction brochure and found the painting she  aimed on the last page. It’s listed in the fourth–to–last position.  Kendric and Ezra arrived late, and as soon as he entered, he saw Celeste..  Her finger glided across the pages, as if tugging at his heartstrings.  Sitting alone amidst the lively crowd, she looked quiet yet remarkable.  Ezra gestured at Kendric. “Your seat isn’t in the front row.” He smirked and whispered, “give me five million, and I’ll arrange a seat for you next to her. How  about that?”  Celeste was focused on the brochure, when a pair of leather shoes came  into her view. She raised her head and was surprised to find….  “Is this your seat?” Celeste asked as Kendric took a seat. 

Chapter 79  “To start a new love story, of course.  Celeste rolled her eyes, “come on, stop it…”  “Just kidding, but my brother, seriously, is the most patient person I’ve ever  seen. You’re single now, and he hasn’t taken any actions!”  But actua  he’s dying to see you. Every time I come back home, he will  intentionally bring up topic about you. I’m like his messenger.”  Sienna genuinely hoped her brother to be with her best friend could, but  she didn’t want to stress Celeste out.  “Oh, Cely, one of my clients asked me to help buy a painting for him. This painting is up for auction at Relly Hotel tonight. I’d like you to go.”  Celeste accepted the task and jotted down the address.  “I’ll tell you the expected price of the client later. I’ve got some plans for the evening, so I’ll be there a little late.”  Celeste agreed.  After finishing her work, Celeste headed out for dinner and then returned home to change her clothes and apply the makeup.  The auction tonight was held at Relly Hotel, which owned by Winters family.  She didn’t know much about Winters family, but she had a vague  recollection of Kendric having a rival with the last name Winters. She wondered if there was any connection to Winters family hosting the event tonight.  Redeemned Fram  ***  When Ezra Winters called, Kendric was taking a break.  Lately, there had been some complications with an overseas project, so he  had to fly abroad to solve the issues.  A few minutes before receiving Ezra’s call, Kendric had been swamped for  days on end. He had barely shut his eyes for a quick rest when he was rudely woken up. His mood was far from pleasant.  “What’s up?” he grumbled.  “Are you at home?” Ezra inquired with a sly tone.  Kendric’s patience was running out, “no, just get to the point.”  Ezra let out a mischievous grin, “well, I do have something. But it’ll cost you five million before I spill the beans.”  “Say it or I’ll hang up.”  Ezra drawled lazily, “I heard that Celeste…”  The call went quiet as Kendric waited. Ezra was clearly enjoying making him wait.  Finally, Kendric grumbled, “fine, I’ll transfer you five million.”  Ezra chuckled, “Okay, tonight, Celeste will be at Relly Hotel. Would you like to come?”  Kendric didn’t hesitate for a second, “sure. Why’s she going there?”  “Oh man, even the five million won’t be enough to show your gratitude to  Reduerned From  hapter 29  “Come to the point, or you won’t even see that five million.”  “Alright, alright. Tonight, I’m throwing an auction at Relly Hotel. Celeste’s lient has asked them to help bid on a painting, so she’ll be there tonight.”  Kendric quickly caught on, “you plotted this?”  Ezra laughed, “that’s why I said five million wouldn’t be enough!”  “And the time of the auction?”  “8 o’clock tonight.”  Kendric glanced at his phone and grumbled, “and you’re telling me this  now?”  “Bro, you think chasing your wife will be an easy thing?”  Celeste arrived at Relly Hotel a little after seven. She had heard there was  an exhibition before the auction, so she came quite early.  The exhibition hall wasn’t crowded. Celeste found the painting she intended  to purchase and examined it closely to make sure its authenticity.  Just as she was about to leave, a man appeared beside her.  He had a physique similar to Kendric’s. He wore a blue checkered suit and was staring at the same painting.  “You like this painting?”

Chapter 76  her.  “Kendric, this ending is what you deserve.”  The scene turned chaotic, and Kendric instinctively reached out to hold  Her wrist was gripped tightly, but her eyes were cold as frost.  Even till this moment Kendric had no intention of letting her go. Celeste had a point. He would experience everything she had endured, including this sense  of powerlessness.  In front of so many guests, it would tarnish both his and Melville family’s name if he humbly pleaded for her to stay.  go!”  Caleb rose from the bench, his voice shaking but commanding, “Ken, let  Kendric remained unmoved. He fixed his gaze on Celeste.  Caleb summoned the last of his strength, barked, “let her go! Cade, get him away from her.”  Cade hesitated, not daring to step forward.  “Ken, are you trying to ruin our family’s name?!”  Finally, Kendric snapped out of the trance, and the thick attachment in his eyes gradually cleared.  They have over a hundred guests here. Every move he made represented the entire family.  Cade seized the right time and pulled Kendric away.  Celeste turned to leave without looking back. The colorful sunlight filtering  through the coloured glass windows on the church roof, cast a vibrant glow on.  the floor. With every step she took, she felt the weight lift from her chest, and  even the air seemed fresher.  She strode into the sunlight, leaving behind the prying, curious, and,  mocking eyes of the crowd..  hell  Kendric remained rooted to the spot, quietly gazing after her.  From the moment she turned away, he felt like he’d descended into the  Proud as he was, he couldn’t help but wonder why he loved her so much while she hated him so deeply.  In the days following, Celeste’s phone was bombarded with calls.  Some of them came from people she had never even exchanged a word with before.  Some were pretend–to–be–surprised type, “I heard your turned down Kendric Melville at the ceremony, is that true?”  Some were the skeptical type, “you’re playing hard to get again?”  Some were mocking, “Kendric is so outstanding, and I bet you’ll regret this!”  The last type was the rumor–spreading one, “Kendric dumped you? And in front of everyone? Oh pathetic girl.”  off.  Celeste was fed up with these nuisances, so she decided to turn her phone  Sienna made frequent visits to Celeste’s new apartment these days.  “Cely, you dashed out of that hall so quickly that day. Someone even  captured a video. A runaway bride!”  “Sienna,why did you come again?”  “My brother’s worried about you. He asked me to come make sure your  everything’s okay.”  Then she noticed Celeste’s intense gaze and quickly changed her tune,  “okay, I came on my own, it’s got nothing to do with my brother. Is that better.  for you? Does it make you feel less awkward?”  “Stop making that kind of joke, Sienna, otherwise, people might think I rejected the engagement because of your brother.”  She sounded serious, and Sienna nodded her head.  “So what are your plans now?”  “I’m planning to go abroad for studies.”  Sienna didn  seem too surprised, “you still have over three months until  school starts. Isn’t it a bit early?”  “I’m using this time to finish the rest sketches. I need to save some money.” 

Chapter 75  After breakfast, they went upstairs to change clothes.  Kendric was dressed in a light gray suit, with a black shirt underneath.  Celeste wore a light gray gown with an off–the–shoulder design, adorned  with a delicate circle of pearls around the neckline.  When Kendric watched her coming downstairs, he couldn’t hide his  delight.  Suddenly, for a split second, she hesitated. She hesitated to break his pride  with her own hands.  She couldn’t stand his dirty tricks, his inherent arrogance, the fact that he never knew how to respect others, and his stubbornness. But in this moment,  her heart ached.  Kendric was standing just at the closest point of the staircase, ready to  catch her hand as soon as she came down.  Celeste decided to give him a final chance. “Let’s head to the study. We need  a talk.  H  For Kendric, there were two sentences he absolutely hated hearing from Celeste, “we need a talk” and “I’ve got something to say.” Whenever one of these lines came out, a quarrel was guaranteed to follow.  Even if so, he still followed upstairs.  In the study.  “What do you wanna say?”  Celeste got straight to the point. “I told you I would like to end our  engagement relationship.”  Kendric didn’t answer. He had heard this line so many times that his  emotions had turned from initial anger to numbness and indifference.  Celeste pressed on, “and I still feel the same way now.”  Kendric chuckled, “you really hard to deal with, Celeste.”  He stood up and retrieved a document from a drawer, handing it to her.  “I believe you’re gonna change your mind after you read this.”  Celeste eyed him suspiciously, not sure what game he was playing.  She took the contract, and as she read the contents, her hands began to shake. She was both appalled by Kendric’s shamelessness.  With a triumphant look, Kendric peered down at her. “Changed your mind  yet?”  Celeste threw the contract at him and exclaimed, “fuck you!”  “Marry me, and I won’t do anything to them.”  The worst assumption had just materialized.  It turned out that Kendric had foreseen her intention of breaking off the ceremony. It turned out he had an ace up his sleeve.  “Kendric Melville, you nuts! Stubborn, ruthless, irrational psycho!”  These were the harshest words she had ever hurled at him. She had never imagined that one day she’d say such words to the person she loved the most.  Chapte75  “You’re right. I am.”  He muttered, “as long as you don’t leave me.”  Celeste’s emotions were in turmoil. She despised Kendric’s domineering  tactics. He had always done whatever he pleased to her, stifling her every move,  never taking her feelings into account.  She closed her eyes. “I hate you.”  Kendric fell silent for a moment. “But I love you” almost escaped his lips,  yet he held it back.  “It doesn’t matter.”  At this moment, Celeste finally grasped that in Kendric’s world, there was no room for compromise. He didn’t understand what it meant to love. He didn’t get that loving someone was about protecting, not constraining.  “Kendric, I was wrong.  “I once imagined that if I had been honest with you from the start, things would be better. But now, it’s clear that nothing will change you.”  “You’re still the bossy, childish, and ridiculous Kendric.”
